The property was gorgeous and the views of the water were spectacular. We had an ocean view room that was worth the upgrade, and the beachside restaurants took full advantage of the views. We paid extra for the Gold package and the service was outstanding. Staff were friendly, helpful, and timely the making sure the breakfast, snacks, and evening appetizers were set up. Fitness center was top notch and concierge services at the resort made some high quality recommendations that saved us time and resulted in a great experience. The location of the resort in the Mauna Lani area near Kona is close to shopping and restaurants but far enough away that the grounds are serene and peaceful. Highly recommend the property and the upgrade to the Gold package.

The property is on a secluded beach about a half hour from Kona. The Gold Orchid Lounge was really nice and included breakfast and appetizers as well as juice, coffee and water. Most of the staff were excellent. The bed was very comfortable. The beach was a great place to watch sunset. It is close to Blue Hawaiian helicopter tours. We tried the restaurant Brown’s beach house. The ambiance with live music was nice.

The Fairmont Orchid is a lovely property, well groomed with waterfalls, koi ponds and beautiful flowers and trees all around. At night we fell asleep to the waterfall, in the morning we woke to birdsong.
The staff was wonderful and attentive. Learning our names and engaging with us. Having the Gold experience provided us with a more dedicated concierge team, breakfast and canape which was all fresh prepared, local and delicious. Among the Gold experience staff, we engaged a lot with Samuel, Kacia and Lisa who all ensured our stay was relaxing and enjoyable.
We look forward to returning to Hawaii and the Fairmont Orchid.

We stayed at Fairmont Orchid Gold for six nights as a family and the services we have received were exceptional. Although we had to wait a bit for our room to be ready, we were able to relax and enjoy refreshments at the Gold lounge. Due to some complications we encountered we got a free upgrade to a suite with ocean view which made our stay even more comfortable. The hotel property ground is amazing with beautiful landscapes at every corner. The private beach with a cove made swimming and snorkeling in the ocean very safe and enjoyable particularly when you have younger kids. We enjoyed delicious breakfast and evening refreshments every day at the gold lounge and all service members were extremely courteous and have us very useful suggestions on where to visit. Overall we love our stay at Fairmont orchid and will definitely come back in future!

The staff were wonderful as usual. The continental breakfast had a good selection of food and beverages. The evening canapés were fine for dinner for us. Having food available in the lounge was convenient and helped us make the most of our days. The beach was also great for stargazing.

The Orchid is a beautiful property. The tropical landscaping and beautiful beach & shoreline are stand outs - great for bird and turtle watching. The vast majority of interactions with staff were above and beyond courteous and friendly; it felt like staff enjoyed their work. In terms of rooms, our King room was kept very clean and all furniture, including the balcony felt up-to-date. While some of the bathroom fixtures appear dated, it did not detract from our hotel experience as they were in good working order.
Thanks again, Orchid Hotel. You made our trip to the island very enjoyable.

Fairmont Orchid is a beautiful resort. Lots of waterfalls and koi ponds around property. Many restaurants on and around the property. Snorkeling was great and a p[protected area for small children to snorkel in.

The Gold Experience was NOT worth it during the pandemic as it does not allow any type of extra service so until that is lifted I would not recommend it nor did they offer anything for Valentines Day etc. The on site Hertz rental car was kind of a joke, the island is not crowded and they just didn’t care, so I went elsewhere, basically rent your car from airport.

The Fairmont Gold floor was fantastic and completely worth booking. The lounge provided complimentary breakfast, all day non alcoholic drinks, afternoon tea, pre dinner appetizers, and later evening cookies. Not to mention friendly concierge service.

The team on the Gold Floor was exceptional. From the staff at the private front desk, to the wonderful crew in the Gold Lounge, to our warm and friendly housekeeping crew. We couldn't have dreamt of a better place for our elopement/babymoon.

This hotel's check in time have been at 4 o'clock but i could not enter my room at 6:30. I had to wait because the room was not ready. It is the worst experience for me.

Service was phenomenal. I am so glad there is a gold option. The scuba diving was beyond excellent and creative design of the spa and pool.I did not appreciate the spy bugs though.

We loved our Gold Experience. The check in was easy and the people at the desk were so nice and helpful. Our room was at the end of the garden but we had a partial view of the ocean from the lanai. Our room was so quiet,we missed hearing our forest full of coqui frogs! We live here on the island and had heard that the gold experience was Golden,and we agree. From the cupcakes,including the gluten free one for my birthday to the gluten free breakfast option to the smiles and the helpful staff when we left our snacks in the car,we were blown away with the service. Even when we had a bad experience at the HaleKai, they bent over backwards to make up for it.

From greeting to checking out, our stay was magical. The Fairmont Orchid Gold experience was top notch and we will be back. This hotel is our go to on the island , as we live on the Hilo side. It is now our "other home". The food was fabulous too. We dined at Brown's Beach House, had the venison and my husband hadcthe filet, delicious! Our server Alice was so sweet and talked story with us. A round of applause for the staff of Gold. They really are so helpful and are so cordial.

I really liked the personal attention. The grounds flowers waterfalls and beach view is just beautiful. I didnt think the air conditioner was strong enough and the water pressure in the shower needed improvement. Also the beach needs umbrellas set up for the loungers.Overall wonderful hotel and property.
