Residence Inn by Marriott, District Area, Ankeny. Check-in great. Kids used pool and adults used workout facility; everyone enjoyed. Breakfast good. Parking at hotel great! At night, we learned there was a leak in the bedroom window and water was dripping down and hitting the windowsill (puddle on sill and floor in front of it). Notified front desk and they said only thing they could do (because they were booked full), was downgrade our room to a one bed instead of our 2 queen bed room, but they were going to charge us the same price since we booked 3rd party and not directly through them. Obviously not going to work for our family; so we tried to muffle dripping sounds with towels. They became soaked and stained from whatever was causing the drip. Didn’t think the sound of a drip could keep me up all night, but it did. Frustrating that it happened. Further frustrated the only solution was to downgrade us and charge us the same. Insulted by no attempt to make it right or discount anything. Further insulted by excuse of booking by 3rd party was reason why we were going to be charged full price even if we accepted their downgrade. The rub is we are members of their hotel program - we just chose to use 3rd party because we had rewards to use. Guess we need to evaluate using 3rd party in the future….Or canceling that hotel membership and going with a hotel chain that treats their guests (no matter how they book) better when the hotel gives you a faulty room.

Went for a two night stay w kids for a family event in town. Room was cleaner than the remainder of the property. Was given keys to an occupied room when we got there and had to switch floors. Pool is not heated well or maintained well. Pool bathroom was disgustingly dirty and no pool towels, when called to get some they had us come to the front desk dripping wet to get them. Same when we requested towels for tge room. Poorly ran with enough employees that dont care and you can tell. Will NOT stay here again.

The room was spacious, but there were plenty of cleanliness issues. Greasy finger print smudges on the doors, orange mold covered the bottom foot of the shower, and the toilet seat was dirty from whoever stayed there before to name just a few things. The room was also very stuffy because the AC was built on the living room side of the wall. Overall I wasn't pleased for the area, amount of money spent, and level of excellence I expected to see. Food - 5/10 (not fresh, not great) Beds - 3/10 (firm bed, sacks of air for pillows) Front Desk 2/10 (hid in back office, took way to long to get service) Pool was closed because they put too much chlorine in it, and then proceeded to tell me "Our maintenance guy lives nearby but he doesn't know how to answer his phone" as the reason why they weren't fixing it. I very well could have stayed at a Super 8 and got better customer service at least. It wouldn't have looked as nice, but it probably would have been about as clean.

Always a good place to stay for us when visiting family. Close to groceries, restaurants, and of course, family. Layout makes check-in easy, and the staff have always been courteous. The rooms are all well equipped.

Great facility

Everything that was there was very clean. But the room had no paper or pencils. I often have to take notes on an impromptu basis, but had to go out to the car. There was no one at the front desk. The bed was not particularly comfortable. The "free" breakfast was dismal. Missing a lot of things like orange juice and bacon. However, the biscuits and gravy was good.

It was almost perfect except there was no hair dryer to be found in the room. I love in the area and really just want to see what this hotel can offer that way if my guest/family visits i can assess as an option since it is expected to be residential, the kitchen utensils were spot on, i also noticed not having lotion which most big hotel chains offer

After a cancelled flight and a long drive, this hotel was exactly what my wife and I needed. It was clean. It was quiet. The bedding was perfect. 10/10 would recommend.

Staff was very friendly and the room was awesome! Very clean and comfortable! 10 stars to the crew that cleans the rooms! We will stay there again whenever we are back in the Ankeny Iowa area again.

The overall stay was nice. The beds are not as comfy as I’ve experienced at a Marriott before but it may have just been an older bed. The service both at the front and the cleaning crew were very hospitable and kind. This trip was a slumber party for my ten year old and they loved the suite. Breakfast was also a hot, the girls were very happy with waffles and cereal. Thanks Marriott crew.

This is a nice property unless you are bringing a pet. The pet fee is $125 not a deposit. Then they told us to walk the dog in an area that is marked as being chemically sprayed and not to walk on. Other than that it was a great place with a lovely staff.

New property in a wonderful new mixed use area. Highly walkable. Comfortable bed. Allows pets but the price is higher than some other hotels so verify the fee before you book.

The hotel is new and conveniently located in a new shopping center. There are several excellent restaurants within walking distance. The room is spacious and comfortable. Great complementary breakfast. I highly recommend this hotel.

My first choice when in Ankeny. A really great hotel close to restaurants and entertainment.
