It was clean and quiet. Excellent place for a nights stay. Close to beach.

This facility is close to the highway therefore you can hear the traffic during the night.

The owner is very friendly and always smiling. The room was large but seemed a bit to large since nothing was in it except from the most important things. Would be great to have a bedside table on both sides and not just on one. It's a good place for a one nights rest.

The check in was easy and owners nice. The property inside is undergoing some renovations. We got a renovated room with a small kitchen area with a bar fridge and table and chairs. I dont know the condition of the other rooms but appreciated that ours was newer and fresher. The motel is right on the main highway and NOT in Salmon Arm, but a small community called Canoe about 5km from Salmon Arm. We walked to a small pub near the waterfront about 1 km away and had to pick a safe time to cross the highway. The highway curves right at the motel so is quite a noisy presence but our room was tucked back a bit so it reduced the highway noise for us. No ice or other amenities are there. Its ok for the price point.

Since the price always leads to the level of expectation, I felt everything went well and as expected! My room was large with a separate bedroom. Obviously very convenient location and considering it's located on the Transcanada highway, noise was minimal. I had the AC/Fan on the whole time. There is nothing close for food options but a 5 minute drive or 20 minute walk into the little beach town provides everything. Further west is Salmon Arm and tons of options. I stayed twice so you can say I was satisfied!

My in laws live in canoe right across the highway from the motel. I didn’t set my expectations too high, but I was impressed. My room was kind of like a suite with a table and two chairs along with the TV and a 3rd chair in the front room then the bedroom was separate. Everything was very clean and the bed was comfy. I can’t comment on the pillows because I brought my own. I didn’t notice much noise from the highway, but maybe that’s because the bedroom was in the back. My only complaints are the colour of the walls and it’s very sparse. They could put up some pictures or something because it’s very bare. But I’ll definitely stay again.

Older motel on the highway. Traffic was loud until you closed the windows. Air conditioner was fine but typically noisy. Room and bathroom newly renovated, nicely done. Very clean. No hairdryer so bring your own. Basic but all you need for a quick overnight stay.

The room was fine except for the sink and tub faucets: water came out too hot or too cold; impossible to position the single-lever faucet to get temperatures in between. This is strange because I was in the same room 2 weeks ago and the faucets worked fine. One other problem: when I checked in, the property management system showed I'd reserved 2 rooms. Not sure whether this is an error in their system or Expedia.

Great place, clean and quiet. Very basic, but perfect for a night or two. I will stay here again on my next time through the area.

Upon arrival after a 5 hour drive was told max 4 people to a room, and they couldn't accommodate my husband myself and 3 children.Even though we had booked a 2 bedroom room. I said fine i'll take my business somewhere else as the motel was directly on the trans canada paying 200.00 for one night in a tiny motel that looked like a dive. They said they would make an exception after calling her husband to make sure and then said i had to pay and extra 10.00 for my extra child. Horrible sleep due to the excessive noise on the highway all night from the big trucks. If you are a light sleeper I do not recommend. The rooms were clean though but horrible experience when arriving.

The motel was newly renovated. It was clean and roomy. Definitely would come back again. The room layout was nice. You have a separate room for the bed room and living room. The only thing not making this 5 star are, there is no couch on the living room, no ice vending machine ( you have to ask the nice lady up front for ice ).

The Happy Salmon never disappoints. It has been a convenient stay for me on my travel between Alberta and BC. The beds and linen are excellent, the building is quiet, the cable and wifi are more than adequate.

It was a nice place to stay. Clean and nicely put together. Would stay again!

It is not a typical hotel which serves for customers. Don’t waste money on this place.

It’s quite an old motel and it shows but was scrupulously clean and comfortable and since we only wanted it to sleep was perfect.

Property is at a convenient location but it becomes noisy at night since it is right beside the highway, would recommend them to get windows soundproofed.

This is a very basic model very close to a busy road. The “garden” is on the side of a highway.

Thin walls made it too easy to hear neighbours. Pine needles outside were easily tracked into the room. Other than that it was nice

Adorable little room, newly renovated. Clean and tidy. I would have liked the fridge to be plugged in half hour before I arrived. The shower temperature was hard to regulate, either extremely cold or hot…. I managed to move it slightly and not burn myself.

The hotel is “dated” and they did their best to update it. The bathroom was done very nicely but the finishes on the walls with homemade headboard and wood thing around the bedside light fixture is tacky. There are a lot of extension cords powering the lights and TV and it is a bit concerning to me. There was also a strange odour in the room. It might have been made worse with the A/C running. Other than that it was clean throughout (bathroom and bedding, etc). It served its purpose for the one night.

A diamond in the rough - right off the highway but we had a comfortable, quiet night and a nice walk into Canoe for dinner.

Great location, close to beach. Oversize rooms. Mattresses need to be replaced as too soft. Management very helpful. We enjoyed our stay and recommend this motel.

Clean updated room with excellent service. Owner even provided a larger fridge freezer so that a large perishable item I had with me did not spoil. I would stay there again even though it’s a few km away from centre of Salmon Arm townsite.
