This is the second time we stay at The Benson and we love it! It’s so close to the main plaza. It’s very clean and the AC working amazing for being in the south Texas heat all day. We love it!

The family was really excited to stay at the Benson house because it sits in downtown area of Uvalde and near a couple of our favorite spots to eat with friends and family.
Unfortunately, our stay was ruined due plumbing issues, clogged toilet and backed up drainage sewage in the shower.
We reached out to property who advised issue was being looked into and plumber would stop by after fixing problem at another building next door. We waited and decided to leave due to smell and visible sewage visible on shower floor. We were advised the issue was fixed approx 45 minutes before checkout.
The room is very nice and comfortable, just as pictured in reviews. Property needs to resolve plumbing and sewage issues before renting out rooms. Also, should consider accommodating use of other rooms if available, should the issue occur in the future. We decided not to post pics of the messy bathroom situation as most definitely, not family-friendly. Would recommend stay at hotel/motel/Inn over Benson house.

It is a very nice space. Only 4 rooms with a common area. Very clean and comfortable and decor in good taste. Has ammenities such as a minifridge.

Overall a very nice place to stay but a couple of suggestions: first, put towel racks in the bathroom. There was a small plastic hook by the shower but nothing else to hang a wash cloth or hand towel. Also, the breakfast food was all sugary kid cereal, nothing healthy and no other options.

This is a very tastefully designed and decorated property, renovated with quality materials (unlike your chain hotels). My only complaint is the sound of trucks whooshing by throughout the night.

Nicely located downtown. Con no iron nor iron board was supplied and the bar nearby is very active and foot traffic to bar is high at night.

Our second time staying here in the last four years. We’ve only been to Uvalde twice and stayed here both times. It’s an awesome property. It’s and it’s well-maintained. It’s has been recently updated. Or at least it looks that way! Great value will stay here again!

Second time we’ve stayed here but first time in a single room. Always so impressed by the accommodation. From cleanliness to comfort. Love making this place a part of our summer traditions. Can’t wait to come back.

This is a lovely place. Clean and very comfortable. Our ONLY complaint is the traffic noise from the highway, which they cannot control.

Loved the shopping and dining at Lunkers and the soda shop! The street noise is terrible but nothing you can do about that! We bought earplugs and slept fine after the 1st night. Loved the common area. I cleaned up after making coffee and using the dishes, others did not.

The room was immaculate, the beds were super comfy, and the common area was a nice touch. We appreciated the small snacks available. The price was better than local hotels!! We will definitely stay there again if we have a trip to Uvalde. Thank you!

Such a sweet surprise. It was nicer than I was expecting and a great little stay for our family rather than a more traditional hotel. Location was wonderful and the room was clean, spacious, and cute. Loved the history of the building. We’d stay here again for sure!

The area was nice. The room was clean. The size of the room was deceiving from the outside but once inside there was quite a bit of space. The size of the room was perfect. The only thing I did not like was the noise from the street and the shared hallway and kitchen. I am a very light sleeper and woke up several times from the traffic noise and the other guests in the hallway. My wife slept like a baby and had no issues sleeping. I will definitely book again but I will bring some ear plugs for the night. I do recommend Benson Guest House (room 1).

Beautiful historic guest house in downtown. Clean, spacious room with nice general area, especially if others in your party are staying in other rooms. If you are a light sleeper, important to know that this is located on the main street in Uvalde and you can hear traffic throughout the night, especially if you are in a front-facing room.

The place was peaceful, quiet, clean, spacious and cute! We felt very comfortable and safe. Loved the decor and clean atmosphere throughout the property. Customer service via text was wonderful for me!

The accommodations were great! The common area with snacks was clean and inviting. We just had coffee but it was great! We did not use the patio area but will do so next time. Thank you to the owners… we enjoyed our stay!

The room was wonderful, quiet, and comfortable. My only complaint was that the breakfast offerings could not even be considered continental- packaged oatmeal, cereal, and granola bars. The coffee was good though.
