Wonderful hotel, will stay there again on our next Munich trip

Near the Prater and Danube, beautiful old building. Within walking distance of many local restaurants and subway stops (about 10 min). Supposedly has AC and there was a thermostat in the room, but opening windows was much more effective. Our room was also west-facing so the beautiful huge windows took in a lot of heat. High ceilings, large bathroom, and cool decor.

Wonderful hotel in the middle of old town Munich! Perfect location - 2 min walk to Platzl & Hofbrauhaus, and just a few minutes more to Marienplatz. Staff was friendly and helpful. And the rooms are beautiful, comfortable, and have good AC. Highly recommend!

The hotel is in very good condition and our room was really comfortable. The location cannot be beat. It’s smack in the middle of the old town and yet it is quiet. The but is that there was never anyone at the front desk. Just never, so when we needed help it wasn’t available.

I knew to expect something a little different having looked at the hotel website and reading the reviews on hotels.com, and that is exactly what you get with this hotel. Relaxed, friendly and trusting that guests can take care of themselves (late check in process and honesty bar self service) without losing any sense that the hotel staff are there for you. I had the double room with balcony on the third floor, which was very clean, really spacious with a comfortable bed. I never watch TV on holiday, so didn't miss there not being one. The room lighting was dimmer than usual (as other reviews said) but only when curtains were closed over at night, and there was still good lighting around the bed if you did want to read. There was plenty of natural lighting during the day. As a female travelling solo, I felt very safe going to and from the hotel, even at night. Perfect location for Marienplatz, and the English Garden turned out to be much closer than expected. Maxvorstadt and the museums in the Kunstareal area are all walkable from the hotel (if you are happy to walk!). The Residenz area is literally around the corner. Would definitely stay again.

We loved our room! Very comfortable! Fantastic location walking distance to all the shops pubs and restaurants. Short taxi ride to train station. Very helpful and friendly front entrance staff.

Very close to the old town

The hotel is very well located! It was kept very clean and the concierge girls were very helpful and courteous! The bathrooms were so clean that I could take long baths after a weary day-

The hotel itself was very nice. Room was very spacious with a balcony. The only negative side is that when we got there, the hotel address said Maximillianstrasse. There was just a big door on that street with a very small, plaque sized hotel sign saying the actual entrance was around the block in the back of the building. Our ride had already dropped us off and we had 3 big lugagges to lug around to the back entrance. Once at the entrance, the door was locked and there was no intercom. We had to call the hotel local number to talk to someone to let us in. Once she opened the door, though, check in process went in so smooth. The lady was very kind and attentive. Room we got was really nice. Lights were too dark though.

Great stay!

WDREI hotel was comfortable and well located. With ability to be in shopping, eating, and sights within minutes. The hotel has recommendations for eating mearby. The only problem we had was no communications with the hotel to MANY emails and calls asking that our daughter not have to change rooms in the middle of our stay due to adding a night there. Not only did they never respond but on check in we asked if all 3 rooms were the same for all three nights and were told yes. The following day she was called and told to change rooms immediately and I was told we were ‘late’ for doing so. When again I tried to ask about this was told that the staff ‘saw there were a lot of emails’ but apparently did not read them. This is not acceptable to me and we will not stay there in future trips.

This hotel was near many restaurants and close to the metro. It was clean and comfortable. I would stay here again.

Excellent location and nice staff. The problem is the room has poor lighting, no television, no counter space. No usb ports, shower is very tiny and high off the ground. We both almost fell getting out of shower.

The service and location were exceptional!

This is a lovely hotel! Signs were easily placed from the street to find the entrance. Reception was very friendly and personable. She walked us to our room, gave us 2 bottles of water and a bottle of Prosecco. What a nice welcome! It was clean, updated, and very comfortable. I highly recommend this hotel.

Great and helpful staff! After a slew of Airbnbs with uncomfortable beds we slept beautifully.

A great stay, centrally located, surrounded with food and bars. Few minutes walk to Marienplatz. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Helped us to orient to the new city and gave us tips to navigate. Coffee and water available in their honesty bar. Overall an awesome experience. Highly recommend everyone to stay.

Very clean , friendly helpful staff recommend for first timers in the city .you are in the middle of the action but private location tucked in an alley with access to high end shopping street ( Maximilian)

Great place to stay, amazing art in the rooms

The rooms were spotless, large and had really nice amenities, located perfectly in easy walking distance of the S-bahn (it's possible to get a train directly to the airport with just a few minutes' walk to the station frpm this hotel), the Viktualienmarkt (open air food market selling every manner of farm goods and some prepared foods where one can sit down to eat), several good restaurants and iconic places to visit. Once actually at the hotel, our stay was really great. There are many kinds of drinks available that you can purchase on an honor system inside the hotel, some mineral water and fixings for a gin and tonic for two as well as a few high quality chocolates were complimentary inside the room which was a nice touch. The rooms do not have televisions; the hotel prides itself on having interesting wall murals. A free-standing coat rack is present for any garments to be hung. Their wi-fi works very well. The criticisms I have center around my hidden disability; I am autistic. Communication with the hotel prior to arrival is limited to Expedia's chat. The late check-in forms weren't sent when promised requiring me to call about them; this stresses me a lot. Why couldn't I have received them when I originally notified that I would be arriving late? Also I felt that one of their staff members was incredibly kind, polite and friendly to me, but another of the staff I encountered was curt and...dictatorial. I did not appreciate her demeanor. I would stay here again though.
