Cool, spacious, cave , comfortable bed and cool shower

Reception was very snobby, didn’t explain the room enough with the high tec components. Room smells of mildew. Water leaked in corner soaking our shoes and bags. Towels didn’t dry. My wife got sick after breakfast for 2 days throwing up 🤮.

Everything was first class. It was beautiful.

The bar closed at 1500 for a few hours just as we arrived.

Wow! An amazing town and an equally amazing stay at this five star hotel. The staff was great, breakfasts awesome (and man who waited on us was a class act like from a Downton Abbey scene) and room (including view) much bigger & better than expected. The location meant a lot of uphill walking, but that's part of its charm. We have already told a number of people about this wonderful place.

The closest I can come up with a negative is that the great shower they had never seemed to get the sprays to work (some type of spray that scented the shower). Personally, we just laughed about it.

The property is located right in the middle of everything you want to see! Walk out your door, take a few steps, and you’re on the threshold of where you’re going, whether it’s sightseeing, hiking the gorge or getting a bite to eat. It’s perfectly located! Staff was also very friendly, dedicated to keeping the place spotless, and ready to help with our every need. It was a true highlight of our 10 day Puglia trip!

Our stay at Pianelle Resort in Matera was exceptional. Its prime location in the heart of Matera's Piazza San Pietro Caveoso was unbeatable. The hotel's modern design seamlessly blended with the ancient surroundings, and the breakfast surpassed all our expectations. What truly stood out was their proactive approach, arranging off-site parking and a stress-free shuttle service for us before our arrival. Our room was a luxurious haven with a comfy mattress, plush pillows, and a spa-like shower complete with bathrobes. A truly unforgettable experience!

Honestly, it's hard to think of anything except the bathroom mirror was set too high for me!
