location just off the motorway 30 mins from Santander

Hotel locked upon arrival even though we had advised our arrival time as requested. Phoned the contact number but the person (owner?) had no English and hung up. Luckily a lady in the village, with perfect English, explained that you had to go to the owners restaurant , at the other end of the village to make contact. The owner then brought us back to the hotel to check in.

Creeking floors

The remote and quite location in the village, far from roads, however, very conveniently located. Beautiful place. Inside looks like in the old castle!

The issue with wifi. We didn’t have it at the rooms but we were able to connect at the restaurant, that belongs to the hotel.

The town and staff were friendly- we were exhausted so ordered pizza delivery. Very good food and service. It was dark inside our room so we got lots of good sleep.

The room was plenty clean, it just felt/ smelled damp. There were only tiny windows in the bathroom area, so this could have been the dampness issue, but it also made the room quite dark and cave-like with no natural light. We also could not get the WiFi to work. We could hear other guests’ conversations.
