The house was cute amd clean. There was no where to hang out on the porch because the table was old and uncomfortable. Didn't help to see what the neighbors set up was so good with couches, fire pit. the couch was very dirty. We covered it with sheets before we sat down. The beds were comfy.

We loved this property! The location was the best location we’ve stayed at- seriously just a park and stay! Walking distance to the beach, the bay, restaurants, you name it- you were there! The parking spot was the icing on the cake. We will be back!! The place could use a deep cleaning, but the location was so great we barely noticed.

the location is awesome! The house is a little worn. Several light bulbs were burned out, closet, vanity, bathroom. For the fee charged for cleaning....it could've been much better! It would've been nice to have more cookware and plastic cups. And there were no coffee filters! We had to make another trip back to the store for them. Overall we enjoyed the stay.

This place was a great hub for us as we visited lots of places in the area. It was so close to the beach which was awesome when you had an hour to kill. Our 4 year old loved the beach and being able to walk there in less than a minute. We didn’t spend much time in the house but it worked great as a place to stay!

We enjoy staying in the area so ultimately that’s why we stayed here. Had everything we needed to hit the beach and cook meals there. House does need a tune up here and there. Easily overlooked due to the location and access to the beach.

We enjoyed our stay, good location, beach very close! Overall, decent stay! But beware, it is not newly remodeled like listed….if it is, it was poor a poor job. 2 examples….Front door does not lock, which apparently has been that way for some time from what I found out from the guest book. The deck is peeling pretty badly and easy for little children to get splinters. The kitchen is not fully stocked with utensils, enough to get by. You will need to bring everything with you as far as food….there is absolutely no spices, not even salt and pepper. Which at the very least could be supplied! Anyway, decent overall, but definitely room for some upgrades!

First of all what a great location!! The beach is literally steps away! Restaurants, coffee shops and listening to the waves hit the shore is only a few reasons we will make this our go to family beach house! Fausto was an amazing host!! We had a few things that needed to be attended to and he was there for us. We can’t thank him enough for making us feel welcomed and being there for our family. We can’t wait until next time!!

This was our first time renting a VRBO. Unfortunately we were disappointed with the cleanliness and condition of the house. The front door lock was broken and only the screen door locked. The power in a bedroom and bathroom intermittently went on and off. The Property Manager was very prompt coming to fix it the first time but it just kept happening throughout our stay. The furniture was all very worn out, uncomfortable and not very clean. This included the main bathroom and bedrooms. The main bathroom shower grout was black in several spots and the toilet seat was beat up. The linens needed to be replaced also and did not appear very clean on the beds. There was suppose to be a tv in both bedrooms but one was in the closet and the other was in the bedroom that didn’t have power consistently. Paint was peeling inside also. The deck and outdoor furniture was also very run down. We did not feel that the pictures accurately portrayed the property. The were obviously taken a long time ago and this home has become run down. It was in a great location and could be a nice place to stay if things were fixed and replaced. We are also still waiting for the VRBO Company to return our deposit that the Property Manager said we got back in full. It will have been 2 weeks since we checked out tomorrow.

Great location, close proximity to the boardwalk and walking distance to restaurants and shopping. Owner was very quick to respond and worked with us to get us into the home early.

We loved staying in this great beach oasis. The property has Pacific Ocean views and sounds without the heavy boardwalk traffic. We were steps from great boogie boarding, gorgeous sunrises, and miles of beach and bay boardwalk walking/running/roller blading. Volleyball nets are near by. Great food/fun Guava Beach Grill and Olive Cafe, The Mission Cafe. Close to Belmont Park and Crystal Pier. The owner was great with communication. The parking worked great for our Toyota Highlander. We would love to stay here again.

Refrigerator did not work for a week. Grill did not work. Location of house was great.

Our family stays in Mission Beach every year. With our family trip expanding we needed to find an additional property to house more people nearby. This property is an excellent location for those wanting to be right by the beach and close to stores. The pictures and descriptions were also accurate for the most part. The home really shouldn’t be listed as newly renovated as there are still some dated aspects of the home. The bathrooms were great and done really well though! The refrigerator was also struggling to keep things cold. There is no A/C in the house and the only way to keep the home even a little bit cool is to keep all windows open at all times, which presents a lot of safety concerns. So if A/C is important to you, please keep that in mind. Because we needed to keep the windows open, an issue that presented itself is that there was a window screen missing in the master bedroom. After communicating with the property owner, he put a screen in after a couple days. I will also note that since you need to keep all of the windows open at all times, the screens could use a wash. They were pretty dirty. Also, the check-in instructions and property description talk about having some shampoo and soap in the bathrooms, this was not the case. All in all, the inside of the house is very nice, the tv is great and the couch is great to hang out on and big. The beds were comfortable and the home was clean when we checked in. This home could easily be a 5-star home based on location and the foundation, it just needs a little work to make that extra something special. To his credit, the property owner was responsive when we reached out about the screen and got the issue addressed. It was an unprecedented heat wave, which is understandable to have made the no A/C an issue.

We had a great week at this beach property which was comfortable and spacious for a small house. Not perfect, but the location is great and we would rent it again. Owner responded quickly to messages before trip. We didn't need to contact him during trip. I like helpful details so that's what I will provide: Best: Location! One house back from the beach, we could take our coffee over to the seawall and boardwalk every morning to greet the day. There is a narrow beach view from the deck and you can enjoy the ocean sounds. Also close to restaurants, coffee, etc., bike rental a block away and we discovered Olive Bakery just two blocks over on Santa Clara, ocean side, a quick walk -- Cinnamon rolls to die for! Also very good: Comfortable beds and pillows, updated bathrooms with storage, good showers, very comfortable sectional sofa, good kitchen space/counters, etc., dining for 4 (slightly tight but no problem), spacious living area. There is a futon in one bedroom which we used for storing clothes and suitcases so can't say on comfort. We did not turn on TVs but they are large. Wifi good. Ceiling fans all functional. Parking was easy and convenient. (We had an SUV.) Great to have laundry facilities in house. Also fine: The deck was fine if not all that esthetic. Paint is peeling on the floor and wood deck chairs are weather-worn but quite functional and we used them all week (we know it's hard to keep up this close to the ocean). We did not use the grill. There were 4 functional beach chairs and beach toys on the side of the house. Plus a hose for washing off feet. Could improve: These were not issues that would keep us from renting again but noting for honest review and reason for 4 stars versus 5. The house was surface clean enough but could use some TLC and a deep clean moving into a new season (including kitchen drawers and very dusty fans). The screen is missing on master window so couldn't open during a hotter-than-average week. The fridge was cold enough but lights / ice maker were not working (though bagged ice a fine solution). Several light bulbs were out. To be fair, we did not contact owner about any of these small issues because it wasn't worth the bother for us. No rental is perfect and this one was nice enough overall. We had a great week there.

There is a floor fan in the closet but it is completely dusty and very gross. The porch has a wooden table and it is very very old and falling apart. We normally sit on the patio for coffee every morning but didn’t sit at that table one time because it was so old and if we did sit there we would get splinters. The porch paint is coming off and it does not look anything like the picture shown. Would not recommend until the owner puts some money into it. The only plus was the location.

Enjoyed a few quiet days another beach with family! Nice house just a short walk from the boardwalk. Nice restaurants within walking distance.

The location of the house can't be beat and the layout is fantastic for groups that want a little separation! And I would definitely stay here again. That being said, there were some issues with cleanliness (whiskers on the sink? Ew!) and things not working correctly (ice maker, shower).

Clean and comfortable. Parking and the grill were huge perks. I would stay here again.

Fausto was always very responsive. No huge issues just little things that, if done, would make it a 5 star. We were 3 professional women in our 40's and 50's looking forward to doing absolutely nothing but relaxing at the beach and that was easily accomplished with this location and house. I'm not a complainer and I'm not picky, but I'll point out a few easy schpeasy things to fix that were a bit annoying. First, the wooden front door latch and lock do not work, so we resorted to locking the wrought iron screen door everytime we left. Literally no blinds were functional..annoying. And just a quick paint job would take care of all the scuffs and spills on the wall. Nothing to make us upset, but an opportunity for improvement for sure. Kitchen was beautiful and well thought out. Abundance of kitchen utensils and appliances were very satisfactory. We found the beds extremely comfy.

Owner was great and the property was nice.

Fausto is very responsive to any concerns. The place is great with a deck and parking and proximity to beach and restaurants. It needs some maintenance and it would be all 5 stars. It was our 2nd time staying here.

The location of the house was excellent. Just as described. Unfortunately, the house was filthy dirty when we arrived and the website description and pics were totally misleading. We had to buy cleaning supplies and spent our first 2 days of our family vacation cleaning. We put towels over the majorly stained sofa in order to sit on it with the family. (Found bugs under the cushion’s on the last day when packing up to leave). When I messaged Fausto of the situation he messaged me back that we had a “skewed version of cleanliness” and so we sent him photos showing otherwise. Website description stated ground up re-model which may have been the case at some point in the past but certainly not recently. Our family is used to renting beach houses all over the world and having lots of sand on our feet but black feet on my 5 year old after 15 minutes of walking around barefoot on these floors is filth not sand. We couldn’t open many of the windows because they were either broken and/or the blinds were broken and filthy. Beds were certainly not new nor plush as described on the website. Every spring creaked when laying down and one of the mattresses was stained when we removed the sheets to re-wash them before sleeping. Short black curly hairs were found in the utensil drawer in the kitchen that appeared to have never been cleaned. We tried everything to find another rental for the first 3 days, (despite Fausto stating in a message to us on day 1 that he would not refund our money) however, everything was sold out. We made the best of a really unfortunate situation and stayed at the beach and away from the house as much as possible. Ended up having a good vacation with the family despite our living situation. It’s really too bad because a fresh coat of paint, a good deep cleaning of the floors walls bathrooms and kitchen, a good window washing and fixing of the doors windows and screens could make a huge difference on this home. So many little inexpensive things that could’ve been done that would’ve made this place great!

Although we enjoyed the location, perfect view and steps from the ocean and restaurants, the amenities were as basic as it comes. As others have mentioned, the gas stove burners are still out, the door lock (not the metal gate) was broken still, and hardly locked, the tv in the master bedroom did not work, the master bedroom door handle fell off and wouldn't stay on, there was no screen on the master bedroom window (it was too hot in the room and didn't want to keep the window open for bugs to come in), we were literally left with a few drops of dish soap, 1 garbage bag, and the smallest size shampoo and conditioner bottles that lasted all of 2 days. We stayed for a week and had to buy everything instead of it being provided. For the price we paid, the amenities should have been provided for a family of 4 for the whole 7 days we were there as was described when we booked. These small things that should have been fixed prior to us arriving, plus basic amenities that should have held us over for the week instead of us having to go to the store, spend more money, and buy more items. Again, we paid good money to stay here for the week, enjoyed the location but we weren't provided with basic things that other places usually provide.

Well situated for the beach, PB, Belmont, etc. The only significant drawback was the grill- it was falling apart and really tough to use.

Perfect location along the best stretch of MB. Clean, open floorplan, washer/dryer & your own private parking space. Would def stay here again.
