Lovely hosts, and beautiful location and house.

This place is a little piece of heaven. My friend and me have really enjoyed the night we spent there. The owners were very polite and friendly. Their nice attitude fits to their hearthwarming house. The place was clean as possible, there is even a kitchen that we can use, a saloon with some sofas and a “coffee place”. The fact that the owner speaks and understand english well has made our stay even better. There are also some local products that you can buy if you want. I was not expecting a such good place. I totally recommand this house and hope to come back.

Guest House Takazuri-KITA is located on a hill, across the river, overlooking the mountains and the village below. It is an amazing view. So serene! We felt very comfortable and welcomed at the gueshthouse and sat and read in the living room, had a few craft beers and sake, had a wonderful dinner (husband ordered the bear which was caught by the owner's friend, and he got some because he carried it back!) and breakfast! Their 3-year-old son is boisterous and friendly. Highly recommend staying here.

Nothing, it was perfect, just be sure that you won' t go directly to shirakawa go, however villages and authentic baths a re way better tha' shirakawa it self and are only one hour far from the guest house. I strongly reccomand

I love the location in the middle of the snowy mountains. Staff were very friendly!

At winter time the inside house could be a bit kore warmer.

Clean & hospitality

We stayed in 7 different towns during our two weeks in Japan, and our two night stay at Takazuri-KITA was our favorite. Kota san and Kana san went out of their way to ensure all of our needs were met. Their cafe was a beautiful, warm place to spend time, whether for breakfast, dinner, or just resting and talking. There is also a living room that is very comfortable. The mountain region was idyllic, and a great starting point for trips to the nearby World Heritage sites.

Everything was excellent, but getting into and out of the bunk beds might be challenging for some who are older. I am 64 and I had no problems, but some older people might have difficulties. Once you are in the beds, they are very comfortable, with private reading lights and electrical outlets. We traveled there by bus. If you have a license that allows you to rent a car, that might be a good option.

Hosts recommended a nearby onsen and provided discount tickets. Just the thing after a cold day of sightseeing in the snow.
