I stay here every time I come to the area for business. It has everything I need. The staff is exemplary. It is so nice to come back time and time again and be greeted like I was family. I have stayed in most every hotel in the area and The Simmsbury Inn by far is my choice. I don’t mind driving the extra couple of miles.

It is a lovely hotel. My only criticism is the pool. It could use a fresh coat of paint. But everything else was great. We ate in the restaurant, which had live music. We had a really early start but I was still able to grab something from the continental breakfast! When we checked it, they had complimentary wine. It really is a nice place and I would definitely stay again if I find myself in the area.

The beds and pillows were very comfortable. The inn is pretty dated. Housekeeping woke us up early by standing in the hall talking loudly to each other and then slamming/banging around in the rooms. Probably wouldnt stay again.

Stayed for my best friends 50th birthday. When I checked in they provided me with a complimentary bottle of wine. The room was so clean, there were waters and cookies in the room. The next morning there was continental breakfast and an added bonus of a make your own speciality coffee machine.

Some strange lint-like substance came out of the bath faucet

Inn looks older than it is, built in 1980. Has a New England colonial look to it. Charming.

Overall, a nice place to stay. However, when booking on Expedia you are charged an extra $15 plus tax per person. The hotel clerk explained that for some reason that extra charge is never included by Expedia. I did not appreciate that.

My recent stay at Simsbury Inn was far from satisfactory, marred by several issues that significantly impacted my experience. Firstly, the state of the swimming pool was appalling. It was covered in limescale, giving it a filthy appearance. The pool water emitted a bad odor. Secondly, the incessant noise within the room was unbearable. It sounded like heavy machinery or a power generator running constantly, making it very difficult to get a good night's sleep. Despite my request to change rooms due to the disturbance, I was met with a flat-out refusal by a rude front desk attendant. His dismissive attitude and lack of concern for my comfort were deeply disappointing. Furthermore, the attendant's denial of ever receiving noise complaints from that room felt disingenuous and only added to the frustration. Lastly, the room itself was a far cry from the advertised images on the hotel's website. Instead of the bright, inviting space depicted online, I was greeted with a dark and gloomy atmosphere devoid of natural light. The room appeared old and poorly maintained, with stained carpets, broken safe, crooked towel hooks, and peeling wallpaper further detracting from its already dismal condition.

The bedding is actually very comfortable.

Nice location, rooms were comfortable, especially the king bed. Restaurant and bar were good, menu is limited but we enjoyed a lunch and a dinner at Twigs lounge. Complimentary breakfast each day was quite good and better than most other hotels with pastries, bagels, fruit, cereal etc but also included Nutmeg cafe serving a hot breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage etc.

Simsbury is a lovely property, in a nice location. Staff is great, plenty of nice touches. Our little party put them to the test. We had asked for one room with a couch; didn't get it, but they made it right. One 90+ yr old in our party thought the cookies came every day; they made her happy. We switched credit cards at check-out. The succotash became a favorite side dish (don't miss it!); the chef substituted it for fries (upcharge, but def worth it!). Breakfast food was great; pastries above the norm. The jacuzzi was hot - not the tepid "meh" you find other places. Pool lovely, well maintained, nice towels. I noticed one extra towel on the chair closest to pool stairs. JUST IN CASE you forgot to get one as you went into the pool, one was waiting for you as you got out. How thoughtful is that? I selected this as a destination property for a family road trip. From the description and photos, I had high expectations. They were met and exceeded. Minor note: if anyone in your party needs a grab bar for the shower, ask for an accessible room.

The hotel was quaint and absolutely beautiful. The room was clean and well organized.

A very cozy, personal feeling. The lobby had chess, a pool table, a puzzle table, fireplace, books... nice place to hang out. Great breakfasts, great staff, nice pool and hot tub. Live music one evening. We absolutely loved it (visiting from NJ) and highly recommend.

I really wanted to like this hotel. Upon check in it was great. Quaint, friendly front desk, clean, a fire pit in the front, cookies on the pillow. I even called my husband and said we need to come up for the weekend. It seemed charming. Definitely dated, but it was clean. The first issue was the shower, the water did not get hot, it was warm but not hot. The sink got hot, but not the shower. The tub also didn’t drain properly, so during my shower I was ankle deep in water. The thing that really turned me off was 8:00 in the morning (Sunday morning) I hear banging in the room next to me. I thought the guests were checking out but it sounded like furniture was moving. It woke me up. I get up and I see a cleaning cart outside my room. Then at 8:15 the vacuum started. It was loud. I could understand even if it were 9am, but 8am on a Sunday when checkout is at 11? That was very disrespectful. I said something to the front desk and the answer I received was that’s their job, to get in and start early. Really???? I would never stay here again. If I could post the video of how loud it was I think everyone would understand where I am coming from. The cleaning crew also left a very narrow path to walk through between their cart, garbage & and a playpen.

My husband and I booked a stay here for a night of relaxation away from the responsibilities of home. And we didn’t get it. The room they placed us in was closeby to a very loud party. There was screaming and yelling and kids running all over the place. We called down to the front desk to ask to be moved but were placed on hold indefinitely. Finally, we left at 10pm because it was so uncomfortable. The next day I checked my account and realized they doubled charged me. I called the hotel and I was told they have no idea how this mistake happened but that I would have to wait for the manager to come in to refund it. I still have not been refunded. I would not do business with this establishment again.

Are entire stay was absolutely the best ever all around! Would stay again and highly recommend!!

The Simsbury Inn was a wonderful place to stay while my wife and I explored the surrounding countryside.

Gorgeous property, pools area has tons of natural light, breakfast was top notch. Staff is friendly and rooms were comfortable and clean. Will stay again!
