I haven’t stayed at this hotel since it became the Graduate. The front desk employee was very friendly and quick. The room was very clean and the beds were very comfortable. The Hotel theme in the lobby is very student library look but the rest of the hotel is so oddly decorated. You go from plaid carpet which I loved I’ve never seen it before to a cow and pig wallpaper and very country looking in the hallway on the 3rd floor. The room was also a different motif it was antique looking furniture with sport theme art on the wall. With the old fashioned silhouette photos of a man and a woman.

Clean, nice people, very nice lobby and fantastic breakfast. But old rooms. Didn’t smell fresh.

The room was great until something happened that caused all the lights, TV and fridge to quit working! But other than that hiccup the rooms at the Graduate are comfortable and the staff is always friendly. The bar, however, always seems to close very early, which is disappointing after a concert.

very old (1984 built) rooms, horrible odor in the corridor and in the room, had breathing issue soon, no water in the tub, could not take bath. had to spent lot of time figuring out where is the fridge.

The hotel is located in the ped mall area so there were lots of options dining and lots of things to do. Fun environment. The room and hotel were clean and felt safe. You had to use your room key to use the elevators. Staff was helpful and friendly. We will stay again.

We love the Graduate in Iowa City. We travel often from FL to visit or son attending the University and if available never stay anywhere else. So convenient and walkable to everything you would expect and want in a college town.

Room AC not working consistently. Desk staff not friendly. Reserved a king size bed and at check in didn’t have it claiming that Expedia oversold it. Also didn’t tell me they put me in a double bed size room until I got upstairs. Overall poor customer service

The parking ramp elevator was broken so I had to schlep my suitcase and bags up steep ramps amidst many vehicles coming and going in 90+ degree heat. Room was fairly clean but the hallways had peeling wallpaper. Instant coffee - yecch. Thank god for earplugs as there were police sirens and drunks screaming in the street outside my window all night. Finally, what is the point of "validating" parking when you're going to charge $20 for the privilege?

Really neat place right at the edge of campus. Staff was very friendly. Nice little coffee shop next door. Only parking available was a deck but it was only $20 for the night and close by. Little tight for a 2-queen beds place but a solid experience overall.

There is an intentional desire to make a designer feel throughout the property but there is a lack o maintenance and repairs . There is a distinct smell ( not a good one ) in several areas. I was a little disappointed

The bathroom vent is very very loud and NEVER stops. The AC units are as loud as storm. The rest are ok. Not a 4-star or 3-star hotel.

I have contacted the guest services manner through email about our experience with a member of the front desk staff. We ended up changing hotels due our check in experience.

Terrific central location, right on the downtown pedestrian mall with local shops/restaurants and walking distance to the campus. Unique, quirky decor, extremely comfortable beds/rooms, free bikes and a close river path. The staff is always friendly, professional and helpful. We stay here once a year en route. Highly recommend!

Room was dirty, tub had mold and the forgot to put shower curtain liner on,, when showering tub wouldn’t drain so was standing in water. Air conditioner started screeching every 30 min and then start functioning properly after 2 min. Last few times I’ve stayed there noticed a decline

Great location in Iowa City. Walkable to downtown, restaurants, shopping, and campus. I always enjoy staying in Graduate Hotels and their kitschy style. There is a bar, coffee shop, and restaurant on the hotel property. Parking is half a block away. Hotel is clean and staff is friendly.
