Rooms are dark and could use some updating. I was awoken very early my first morning by the alarm clock in the room next to mine. I had to call the front desk to get it turned off. Not sure if housekeeping should be clearing alarms when they turnover the room. Long travel day and early wake up call made my first day a little exhausting. Hotel was beautifully decorated for the holidays. Couldn’t find a vending machine with drinks anywhere which would have been appreciated.

Girls weekend!!! It was the perfect choice. We were not inconvenienced at all by the construction mentioned prior to our visit.

Pristine hotel. Construction was being done upon our arrival. Due to that, they informed us that the pool was unavailable and the electric car charger was blocked by heavy equipment. Valet was available @ $52/night with unlimited entry. Or a self-park option which was $18 for each entry. The hotel itself is in the center of where you want to be in Charleston. Walkable stores during the day and clubs at night. The hotel had two bars, one typical sports bar and an elegant one across from the front desk. This hotel is clean inside and out. Bell hops bring your luggage to and from the rooms. Bathrooms were floor to ceiling in marble. Forget the other hotels in Charleston. They don’t compare to The Charleston Place. If you want to experience what living like Leonardo DiCaprio is like…this hotel will make you feel it with their services and ambiance.

We booked back in May for a stay on August 11th to the 13th, and I had received many e-mails from The Charleston Belmond and Hotels.com. None of the e-mails or information about the Charleston Belmond either on The Charleston Belmond's website or Hotels.com website did they once mention all the heavy refurbishments that were happening. There was no pool, no spa, and the gym was relocated. This was very poor communication on the part of The Charleston Belmond and also Hotels.com. If I would have known that there was heavy refurbishments with no pool or spa. I would not have stayed at this hotel. Even at check in at the Belmond there was zero communication about any refurbishments until I got to my room and there was a letter on the desk from the hotel manager. This was our 4th time staying and most likely our last. I have also booked on Hotels.com for about 15 years now and that will be coming to an end.

Beautiful weather and hotel. Enjoyed the big screen tv with the Olympics and the pickleball court. Food at palmetto cafe was on point. Everything was great.

Everyone who works here from the valet, front desk, bar tenders, and door men are very pleasant and helpful while providing great service.
The property is spotlessly clean; the guest bedroom is well appointed, pleasantly decorated and the bed is very comfortable.
The location of this hotel is excellent with quick and easy access to shopping and restaurants.
This is our “go to” hotel in Charleston and we would be hard pressed to stay anywhere else.

Our stay was wonderful. The staff is impeccable starting with the front desk, the restaurants and bars, and housekeeping. The grounds are beautiful and well-maintained. We enjoyed being close to everything in the area.
