1. Needs to be maintained properly (sockets don't work, sink outflow does not either) 2. Needs a lift for people on first floor.

Nobody on the reception desk when We arrived. Key card didn't work, had to return to the reception to have problem rectified. Very noisy plumbing in room. However room was clean, bed was comfortable and shower was good.

The reception staff were not very helpful with problems at this hotel. I was woken up on the first night at 12:30 by two employees trying to enter a room with a claw hammer and wood chisel. They were hammering the door for around 10-15 minutes before i went out to explain that what they were doing would not gain entry. They then proceeded to hammer the door for a few more minutes before another visitor went out and told them the same thing. When i mentioned this to reception later that day she laughed and said hopefully that wont happen again tonight.

Firstly, the thing that stood out about the hotel was the friendly and helpful staff - a particular mention for Ben on reception, who was a credit to the hotel. The rooms we booked were spacious and comfortable, but starting to look a little tired. There were a few little niggly things that would be easy to fix (eg a light switch didn't work, the TV remote had no back on the battery compartment and only worked intermittently) that didn't spoil our stay but pointed to the hotel needing a bit of extra time needed to sort out the little things.

The property looks amazing from outside, the building is dated smells like cigarettes, the check in was unfriendly and the staff member was a little rude. The room was not clean, we were 3 people the towels were only for 2 people, there was long black hair on the toilet seat and in the bath. There were also soap stains in the shower from probably other previous clients in that room. I did not have breakfast so do not know what the restaurant area looked like.

Staff were friendly, room was lovely. The only downside was there wasn't any air con. We asked for a fan but it didn't cool us down.

The hotel was conveniently situated for our needs. Our Room was spacious and the bed comfortable. The meal choices were good and the staff attentive and very friendly. We would be very happy to stay again when in the area

Overall, an ok stay. However our room was not ready on arrival at 3pm and we were asked to wait in a lounge area which was operating as an overspill area for a wedding which was difficult to negotiate with our luggage. Receptionist was very apologetic and chased housekeeping to get room ready as quickly as possible - just not the start to our visit that we wanted after a 5 hour drive! Bedroom was fine - spacious with a comfortable bed , but shower a bit shabby. Breakfast on both days was good value at £12 but make sure you book the night before otherwise it costs a lot more! Our experience on sunday evening was not good. The bar had run out of several beers as a result of previous day's wedding and they had decided not to serve bar food that day due to a shortage of staff, which resulted in a 10 minute wait to order a drink at the bar, as staff were working elsewhere. Common sense did prevail with the help of one staff member, we were able to order pizza which was on the restaurant menu and eat in the bar. Overall a pleasant stay but merits an average rating rather than a good.

Parking was easy and free, as was wi-fi. The receptionist was very welcoming and helpful. Rooms were clean, although rooms were dated in some aspects. W r appreciated that the room was quiet and dark overnight.

The hotel was busy with wedding parties and other groups but an evening meal in the bar was served promptly and the breakfast buffet was kept well-stocked. Staff quickly attended to any small issues.

It was comfortable and the staff were cheerful and accommodating. The other people staying there were friendly.

We stayed here as we were attending a wedding locally. It was not up to the standard of a 4 star hotel. Staff were nice however on a couple of occasions I popped to the bar to get a drink or reception to ask a question and would often wait for up to 10 minutes before anyone arrived. Simple things such as a bell to notify you are waiting at these areas would solve this issue. The room was okay however it was stuffy and hot with no air conditioning (a fan was put in our room upon request). Very few amenities were provided, there was a random missing drawer by the TV the bathroom was dated, the bath had very old stains within it however the shower was decent. Overall the room just felt a bit old, dated and lacked simple things like a drawer or a pen which are found in most hotels. The bar food was decent however limited options for allergies such as gluten free (they had run out of pizza bases). Breakfast was good and had variety however stained cutlery left on the table was disappointing. Overall it was an average stay and I wouldn’t rush to spend that amount of money to stay here again.

Very nice staff good food

Very friendly helpful staff. Car parking free and excellent. Lounge area, reception and dining room very nice. Bedrooms rather dated but clean. Convenient for Tunbridge Wells and visiting all the National trust properties nearby.

At 7am hotel staff were being so noisy we had to call reception to ask them to ask them to be quiet. Then at 8am house keeping were knocking on our door despite us having the do not disturb sign up. Hotel feels very old fashioned, run down and tired.

As we attended daughters wedding special day the older bar staff men Tom / Tim were rude moody and spoilt the evening mood the younger staff were good helpful and smiling

Nice comfortable overnight stay for a reasonable price. Good food in the restaurant, again at a good price. Only slight criticism was that on check in and a couple of times we needed to go to reception, it wasn't manned and had to go look for someone. Would definetly use again. y

Excellent hotel. Super comfy bed. Lots of hot water for showering. Efficient staff. Lovely quiet peaceful night.

We felt very welcome from the moment we walked through the door, the room was fresh and clean and very spacious. We had an amazing stay and would love to come back
