My family has stayed on and off at the Insel for over 40 years. It has upheld its standards for all those years. Would highly recommend for business or pleasure.

The hotel was clean and well-situated, and the beds were comfortable, but our daughter was sleeping on the floor. As we brought a camping mattress pad with us, that was no problem, but it turned out that when we asked for an extra blanket the management wanted to charge us for an extra bed. We were able to convince him that we only needed an extra blanket, but the manager we dealt with was curt and rude, which left a bit of a bad taste in our mouths. Nonetheless, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend the hotel to friends.

Returned to the Insel after a 30-year break to find it upgraded and modern. However, our double room was stifling; the only 'air conditioning' was a small fan which just pushed the hot air around. Also, the shower cubicle was the smallest ever.

Very good for business people attending Kolnmesse but not wanting to pay Cologne prices. About 35 minutes by train to the venue. Very polite staff and a good breakfast.

Night stop on business Good wifi, parking and close to local shops, breakfast was excellent Only down side was the thin summer duvet in January was rather cold

The hotel has a good location, and the check in was fast and staff very friendly. The gym is a nice addition, although quite small. I appreciate the spinning type of bike (should have brought proper cycling shoes). The hotel was clean and rooms were comfortable.

I have stayed at the Insel a few timed and enjoy every moment of it

I have stayed here three times when visiting Bonn for work. The first time I stayed almost 3 weeks, the second time about 1 1/2 weeks and the third time almost 3 weeks. The rooms are clean, small and basic. The breakfast is nice but not elaborate and eating the same thing morning after morning does become a chore. There is a severe shortage of irons/ironing boards so make sure to request one when checking in although this is no guarantee that one will be made available immediately. The staff for the most part are nice but I did encounter one very rude guy at reception and one rude housekeeping staff member. The latter I never saw again after my first trip. The former was still there on my third and I came very close to losing my temper with him. The location is convenient and I prefer it to Bonn because of the variety of foods- there is Turkish/Kurdish/Arabic among others to choose from.

Good location and good value hotel. No wifi but cheap wired access in room. Not far from ubahn, about 5 mins walk and good restaurants located nearby. A good hotel.

I was disappointed when I realised I had managed to book a hotel outside of cental Bonn. But Bad Godesburg is a lovely area and as it turned out the very pleasant underground ride took us to where we needed to be in only 10 minutes. 16 minutes by underground to central Bonn and only EUR 17 by taxi the same distance. Hotel Insel is very well kept and extremely comfortable. Friendly staff and excellent breakfast in spacious breakfast room.
