Beautiful hotel in a stunning setting . Rooms are a good size, with mini bar, lovely bathroom and magnificent views. Welcome drink available and staff very friendly and helpful.

Perfect location. Views are incredible. Beds are quite firm and no AC which made the room a bit warm, but that’s typical of what we’ve experienced. Overall very nice property.

Free shuttle bus was not readily available. And the fact that I could not enjoy outdoor terrace for breakfast was a huge downside. Check in queuing was too long after a long train ride.

Absolutely loved this hotel and staff were so helpful and friendly. The hotel was in close proximity to grindelwald first. The views from room were breathtaking. Grindelwald was just beautiful and this hotel was perfect for us. Special recognition goes to Diago at the bar and Kieran at hotel reception. Both these staff were very accommodating and helpful. The Swiss people are friendliest people in general.

Overall, the hotel is pretty good. The room is a bit small but it has a great view of the Eiger Mountain (I believe it’s the Eiger). The location is quite convenient, with easy access to most tourist attractions in the area, especially First Mountain. If I had to complain, I’d mention that no air conditioning is tough in the summertime, but that’s common for most hotels in the area.

The room was well cleaned and comfortable. Breakfast and the attached restaurant were very good. The udon noodles at the bar tasted terrible, unfortunately.

The service was average for the price.Drinks from the minibar are free, but the selection is poor. There weren't many types of amenities, so I got the impression that it was a hotel for groups only. The view was amazing

Very nice clean property in the center of the town. Scenic views right from your room. Only thing we missed was not having Air-conditioning in the room especially in summer months.

The Sunstar is a great hotel for visiting Grindelwald as it has amazing views, friendly staff, and a great breakfast (the location is pretty good, too). The room we had was Mountain View and our balcony let us just sit an be in awe of the Alps. They also have rooms with a view of the town—those would be okay, but the streets have lots of pedestrians and might be less enjoyable for those who like privacy. The pool is good but has limited hours, closing at 8:00. The staff were always friendly (our kiddo got a welcome gift) and helpful. Location-wise, know that you want to go to the end of the train line, Grindelwald, not Grindelwald Terminal, to get here most easily. From there, it’s about a 7 to 10 minute walk (depending on your speed on hills). They have a shuttle, but we always walked.

Overall very nice resort. I wish the balcony door had a screen so I could leave the door open at night without bugs. Also, the TV situation was not great, no smart TV features.

We booked a premium room and the view from the balcony was spectacular! The hotel was very clean and had great facilities such as a pool, sun terrace, steam room and lounge bar with amazing views of the Eiger. It was very quiet and the room was a good size with comfy beds. The hotel was very busy and sometimes there seemed to be too few staff to keep up with clearing away at breakfast or dealing with large parties checking in. But the staff were all lovely and did their best to keep queuing to a minimum. We would definitely stay here again as it is probably the best positioned hotel in Grindelwald. Can’t wait to return.

I would have given all 5 stars but, the mini fridge in our room didnt work the entire stay and they said they couldn't fix it so the food we bought spoiled. Beautiful view of the mountains!

All went well, close to train station, copious and variated choices for breakfast, amazing views. Swimming pool a great plus after sport activities

Excellent view from our mountain facing room and balcony. Decent dining options but go early. Everything closes early. Upto schilthorn for lunch presents awesome views

It is a very nice hotel. The staff are very friendly and the location is excellent!

We were indeed disappointed of the Sunstar hotel policy. We book a 2-night stay of which check in was on 22/6/2024 and check-out on 24/6/2024. Due to the natural hazard at Zermatt, all traffic routes were cut off. We were stranded there and was not able to leave the town on 22/6. We were only able to check-in at Sunstar on 23/6 and was informed that refund is not possible as our booking was non-refundable. We understand the hotel has strict rules but it doesn't make sense for travelers to bear the cost for natural hazards within Switzerland itself! Please bear in mind that the natural hazard was unexpected and it shouldn't be accountable to the travelers. Sunstar hotel should review its policy and please do refund us for the night that we didn't manage to stay. To add on, the hotel seems to have insufficient staff members. We booked a shuttle for a dropoff at Grindelwald station at 10.30am. We waited at the lobby since 10.25am and had to keep asking where is our driver? The driver only showed up around 10.35-10.40am but was still caught up with other errands. We were so nervous as we had to catch the train at 10.47am. The reception staff and the driver didn't seem to care about us at all. My goodness. We had to keep pushing them to send us off!!! What kinda service is that?

Great view of Eiger Mountain, but too many Chinese staying at hotel while I was there. Also, Check-in time was 4:00 pm but the concierge kept postponing the check-in time because they have computer problem and the room was not ready?

What an amazing destination spectacular view from the hotel of the Eiger and surrounding Bernese alps, staff at the hotel were extremely helpful and friendly couldn’t do enough for us during our week stay. Switzerland is such a beautiful country amazing transportation and so clean. We will be back in the winter for another visit. Make sure you have Switzerland on top of your list of places to visit.
