A little worn around the edges.

We were moving our son into West Conn so it was a quick overnight. It's a reasonably nice place, but it needs to be updated. The carpets in the halls are faded. The price was a little higher than I would have liked.

Much needed updating. Peeling wall paper, stains in carpet, carpet bunched up in spots. Will say food was good in restaurant. We were charged an additional $100 for "incidentals" at check in for potential damage etc. Upon check out we were told the $100 could take up to two weeks to show up in our account again. It was just dark, old and in bad shape.

We arrived at the Ethan Allen Hotel and received our room. Unfortunately, our room was dirty and smelled foul. Additionally, our room was supposed to have a mini fridge and it did not, which is one of the reasons that I booked a specific room, for the fridge. I went to the front desk to inquire about a new room and I was told that I could not move rooms. I asked about the fridge and they shared that a fridge would be brought to the room. Five hours later, after calling the front desk again, a fridge was delivered. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this hotel to my friends. The rugs were stained with who knows what, the couch was stained and burned with a cigarette, the bed linens were stained, there was mold in the shower and the overall room smelled. Also, there was dog poop all over the grass border of the property’s parking lot. Maybe other rooms in the hotel were not like this room, but I would not know, since I as not able to receive a new room.

Unfortunately, we wanted to love this property but were unable to. Just seemed like the bare minimum was given to the upkeep of the hotel from the room, to the hallway, and pool. I do want to give them the benefit of the doubt. The staff was very friendly, perhaps they are just short staffed and still recovering from Covid.

We needed 2 rooms for 9 days because we had sold our house and were waiting to move. The hotel itself looks very tired- definitely needs a refresh. Also, this hotel only cleans the rooms every 3 days so do NOT expect them to make beds or take out trash, etc on a daily basis. We asked for the room to be cleaned on Day 2 , the front desk staff ( very nice and accommodating) tried to get it organized. It never happened and on Day 3 when we went back and asked AGAIN , we were told it had been done the day before! It took the front desk 4 hours to manage to get Housekeeping to come to the room. Food from the restaurant was okay and the bartender was friendly, but this isn’t really a “hotel “ in the strictest sense of the word. More a place where your staff can stay for a few days when they are in the area for work. Plenty of restaurants, etc in the area and it is convenient . But not my best hotel stay and we won’t be back.

Nice size room. Huge hotel! Seemed to go on forever. Convenient, close to restaurants and highways yet quiet.

needs updating in all areas. very old- paint chipping in most areas- however the bathrooms were nicely tiled. Restaurant closed on Mondays. Girl at front desk seems flustered by any and all requests. we overheard many guests c/o about no daily maid service. We almost got the feel the Hotel was shutting down in the near future. we won’t be going back

Everything was fine except for a problem with the shower water on.

Restaurant doesn’t stay open long enough

Not enogh towels for two adults and two small children. No refrigerator!

This propeprty has done a beautiful job renovating the lobby and dinning area. As well as the pool area is nice. Which gives a false image to the rrst of the hotel. What was extremely disappointing was the lack of care and cleaniness for the remainder of the hotel, especially the rooms and hall. The walls had paper peeling off in many areas, the carpet is stained and lifting up, doors are dirty and have paint peeling off, the furniture in our room had sticky stuff on it, the bath tub was scratched, and we had to request a new sheet for the top of one of our beds as it was stained. Another factor to consider, which would not have been such a concern if all the other matters were cared for, was the lack of elevators. It was an extremely long and confusing walk on the main floor just to find one elevator and then have to walk a long distance to our room once in our floor. Very disappointrd for the price paid.

Last time there they ran out of towels they don’t clean your room or provide anything including coffee for a second night stay when booked for 2 nights unless by request. So this time I specifically requested face cloths. I even Double checked they got my message on check in. He said yeah for the message of their not there you can come back down and pick them up. Yup you read that right. They weren’t there so when going out that evening told them. You guessed never arrived until a 3rd request when getting back and staying up to get the door. No coffee for next morning unless you want decaf and hotel service doesn’t exist so be prepared to walk to get it down the street. Today we awoke and no toilet paper and I did Mention there is no service so don’t expect to ring the front desk they don’t pick up. So I went down to get some. I had To loudly say hello for a response when a door from the office opened to a disheveled individual who responded “yeah we ran out ? You what ? Yes I heard That right and he didn’t have a key either. He said he was sorry and could probably get some to us in an hour. He said that with a straight face. No alternative like stealing some from the public bathroom box of Kleenex Although that would take some deep thinking and after all I just Woke him up. When the staff and service is like this do you think it’s worth the effort to even call the general manager?

Very clean and elegant, staff ready to help, wonderful breakfast but I didn't realize breakfast would be charged to the room and assumed it was free

Yelling fight in parking lot late at night. Hotel Restaurant got my order wrong twice. Not a horrible experience but not great.

Convenient location, quiet, clean and comfortable room.

I was basically tricked into this booking. I feel totally misled - they advertise their property as "pet friendly" but what they DO NOT TELL YOU is that they charge a $75.00 overcharge in order for you to have your pet with you in your room! I can see charging $25.00 but $75.00, for a "pet friendly" place? Maybe they were pet friendly, but certainly NOT pet owner friendly so the fact that there was this hidden charge, and also the fact that I was put in a handicapped bathroom and couldn't even figure out how to flush the toilet OR take a bath after driving for six hours, really sucked. Definitely not value for money in my opinion. If you are traveling with a pet, be sure to check what their overcharge policy is for your pet, as that was never indicated when I booked this room. ETHAN ALLAN? NEVER AGAIN!

Room only set up with two towels for a two night stay. Difficult to get extra towels from the front desk on three occasions.

Room was not clean upon arrival. Trash was on the bureau and in the corner on the floor. Went to the restaurant for breakfast and no staff was present, we helped our selves to the buffet and a waitress finally came as we were finishing up. We had a room for 4 and had two towels. I asked for more and was told they only had one other towel.

Both the hotel and our room were very clean and modern! We were very impressed with the professionalism and friendliness of the staff.

We requested a crib and received email confirmation. We didn’t arrive until 11 pm and were told it should be in our room. After calling down until 1 am, we were finally told that they couldn’t locate a crib, and that this was our problem. Do not stay here if you have babies.

Overpriced dump. We stayed there 8 days and the room was cleaned once in spite of having a small sign saying they would come every 3 days. Wifi was unstable every single day of our stay and the front desk staff is unhelpful and lazy. Never again.
