It was the best hotel I have been to so far. Everything from the food to the care of the rooms, the exterior and the SPA, everything was perfect.

This place is just amazing. The reality is even better than the pictures, it has to be seen to be believed. I've never stayed anywhere like this before.
Great staff, great food, the local area has some nice restaurants, not too hard to get to Cologne (it's at the end of tram line 1).
The wifi was a bit inconsistent but that's fairly common.
I'm definitely going back.

Service was poor and slow. A/C didn't work well in the room. The hot tub wasn't hot. Breakfast buffet was a ripoff.

Beautiful estate with a lot of history that is unfortunately not match by the service provided. It is provincial at best. Couldn't provide a dinner reservation at any of the hotel restaurants and room service took 90 minutes and the food was bland. Electronics are also outdated (eg. TV was very slow). The SPA (if you could call it that) is also way too small for a 5 star hotel. In short, this is not a 5 star hotel, it's a 4 star situated in a beautiful building.

This is an amazing hotel in an old, historical property. The staff were helpful, professional and spoke excellent English. There are plenty dining opportunities. The rooms were clean, the bedding comfortable and nice. Extra bed was very comfortable. Highly recommend this place!

Great setting, great building, spa and indoor pool area fantastic and staff very nice and extremely helpful, particularly the lady on reception who kindly recharged my phone whilst I was in the spa.

This is a very impressive hotel. No detail is left out. From the service on check in to the restaurant and bar all was excellent. Be sure to make dinner reservations as it was booked on our arrival. However, we had a great meal and exceptional service having dinner at a hi top on the bar.

A true classic, five star hotel with everything you could wish for and Amelia functioning perfectly.
From the furnishings to the layout to the views to the location to the grounds, even to the small town just steps outside of the hotel property it is paradise. Add to this add to this the extraordinary restaurant offerings and proximity to cologne by urban transit. It makes for an extraordinary stay.

This was hands down the best experience with a hotel my partner and I have ever had. Our flights got changed and our luggage was lost (coming from the USA), but the staff were friendly and helpful throughout the entire mess.
Not only were the staff pleasant, the hotel itself is beautiful. My partner and I were enthralled to experience such a gorgeous building during our first out of country travel.
If given the chance, we would happily stay here again. Worth every penny.

This property is an hold castle situated in the middle of Bensberg that is suburb of Cologne. The staff is very welcoming. I arrived super early at noon while the check-in time was 3:00pm the staff let me check in early with no hesitation. I stayed there for 5 nights and did not feel like leaving ;) The rooms/suites are very spacious with plenty of seating/relaxing area. They do provide free beverage and it will be replenished during each room service. The Italian restaurant is amazing with lots of choices.
Ideally located at the downtown with plenty of restaurants and grocery stores.

Nice stay in historic castle. The room was older and some of the features were not working like the towel warmer but it was a nice comfortable bed.

Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful, answered every questioned I have about the area . They upgraded my room plus they have a bottle of wine 🍷 for my Expedia VIP rewards .
They have free 2 bottles each of cola, water and orange juice plus a big bottle of water no extra charge …when checked out they asked if you need any assistance and asked if you need something to drink …
Overall stay is pleasant and this hotel is 💯 stars ⭐️

I visited the hotel with my handicapped sister and my 90-year old parents who both need assistive devices for walking. We went there for the hotel spa and their Michelin-star rated restaurant. The access to the spa only has stairs (!), and the restaurant elevator wasn't working, so that they had to drive us to the lobby for my incontinent mother to use the bathroom during the meal. Carpeted floors, cobblestone walkway, long distances etc. - a nightmare for people who can't walk. We had to leave after one night, following a long and difficult international trip to get there.
The hotel reimbursed us for just 10% of both rooms and two nights - even for the one we didn't stay.
Just in case you are wondering, the hotel is advertised as highly accessible! Hotels.com hasn't offered much either to make up for the lost time, cost and frustrations.

Is ok but not more. Staff at the reception not too friendly, room not big and nothing special. Shower was broken. Breakfast very poor, definitely not for 5*. Not worth the money.

We had a lovely few nights here. The hotel was beautiful and the room was fantastic. However I was surprised to find that we had to pay to park in the hotel car park- I would expect that to be free for guests. It cost us over €80 just to park! Plus it was difficult to get food at the hotel- all the restaurants and Dali bar were fully booked and we couldn’t get a quick reasonably priced lunch either. Breakfast was also very pricey so we ate out every day. The spa was very pleasant and we found all the staff very friendly and helpful. Overall a lovely stay, just a shame about car park and restaurants.

This is my third time staying here. Every time I feel that I’m special to the hotel. The breakfast, the room and the dinner were excellent. The room is very big and luxury. Free various drinks in the minibar are very generous.
I can’t think of any weakness of the hotel.
I will always stay here in the future.

This hotel is a true piece of art... It is situated about 30 mins away from Cologne and it's beautiful grounds are situated on a quite hill top. Service, quality and breakfast are top notch. Also the restaurants located on the grounds are amazing.Beautiful and large rooms. Worth visiting
