The service and staff was very helpful. They supplied my wife with wheel chair so she can get around your hotel without using stairs. The medieval architecture was very appealing. The restaurant had a good selection of food. The food also was very good.

Well kept, quaint, tranquil, picture box village, good restaurants, great place.

Our stay was very good , the hotel is lovely and we had the most amazing meal there too , I honestly cannot fault it , will definitely go back .

Lovely medieval town with many restaurants. Navigation into the town is a little difficult but the parador has garage and private parking. 30 minutes from Santander ferry and highly recommended to start or finish a holiday to this area.

Hotel and staff great: set us up to watch tennis French Open on big screen off lobby. Good breakfast and dinner.

I lovely place to stay in the heart of this historic town. Located in a beautiful area to walk around. Visiting during winter, and after COVID, meant that most restaurants nearby were closed, but the hotel staff took great care of us and ensured every meal was interesting and enjoyable.

Great hotel right on the main square. Atmospheric historical decor and quiet room overlooking the little garden. Reception was friendly and welcoming. Parking was easy though it would have been better if the price was included in the room cost (8 euros). Very comfortable stay.

Very authentic to the medieval period of the city. Convenient to everything. Easy parking for $7. Good WiFi. Very clean . Breakfasts have been scaled back a but because of covid, but still elegant atmosphere

This is a fabulous parador in the center of a lovely medieval town! We loved are stay here and enjoyed excellent food in the hotel restaurant.

Loved our stay here - such a gorgeous space. Our only slight criticism would be the breakfast. It was certainly not up to par when compared to other breakfasts throughout our 5 weeks in Spain. A lot of pre-packaged cakes etc - rather than the freshly baked goods on offer elsewhere. We would stay again but would eat breakfast elsewhere.

Wonderful in every respect! A well located palace with gourmet dinning.

Smell was very musty, restaurant was not good and had a huge spider in our room.

Paradors are of course in a category apart. We were thrilled to have found availability at short notice in this historic building in charming Santillana del Mar (despite the name its not on the coast). Our special offer 2night stay with half board was very competitively priced. How can you compare a hotel with a room off a corridor with a room off a huge landing with (mediocre) 17th century paintings, antique furniture and sofas?Big , comfortable bedroom; big, limestone bathroom under the eaves. The larger rooms on the lower floors are probably cooler in hot weather, but the air-con works fine if you want it to. We slept with the window open and were woken at dawn by the racket made by a family of storks doing a turn round the square below. What a treat!The breakfast was superlative. Slightly underwhelming tea for Brits and rather overwhelming coffee which you could practically trot a mouse on. We managed to resist the eggs benedict but saw a large French woman tucking in, and they looked amazing.

The bed was not really confortable; pillow , and poor lighting

Location of the Hotel is easy access for those arriving by bus from Santander. It is a short walk for even me with walking discomfort and back pack. The Hotel is in the town center from where one can walk in all directions. Beautiful town with many beautiful buildings and beautiful walks. Stayed there in late October so there were few tourists. It did rain but stopped long enough for one to walk and explore. We stayed there because it was 20 min. by car to UNESCO World Heritage site Cave of Altamira.

Historic palace

The atmosphere was fantastic with ancient structure. The shower and other equipment were well installed and there was no problems. The parking was across the square. The dinner was more than enough. Fabulous. But you might want to watch out the portion (big). Service was very nice and you can enjoy the stay. Also easy access to the Cave of Altamira which is also very nice.

wonderful! The hotel was just as I expected. The service at the restaurant so caring! The only thing was that I had to ask at the information desk, how to get there as the way that Hotels.com suggested was closed with a chain and couldn't trespass No doubt, the best hotel in santillana

A bit pricey but a fantastic one night stay. Staff extrmely nice and accomadating. Definetly worth it.

This Parador is outstanding - well situated in the square in the centre of the lovely medieval village. As with most paradors, there are so many lovely communal areas to sit in and enjoy the historical building. Our room was spacoius, clean. comfortable and with lovely views over the surrounding countryside. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Parking is very convenient across the square.
