Overall price matches quality of property.
Pros: Location is very good. Staff very nice and welcoming. Property clean outside and in room. Safe and plentiful parking. Bed was comfortable.
Cons: Rooms seem a bit outdated but functional. Not eco friendly. Breakfast ok, only had breads, pastries, and cereal. In my opinion not really kid friendly. No elevator. I requested 1st floor and didn’t get it.
I probably would stay again but maybe not with the family.

We've stayed at this hotel before for our annual trip to Universal Studios. Clean, quiet rooms. Comfortable beds. Friendly staff! Free parking.

It was great! Stayed for a night, they gave food u could find at a gas station but it was free so it was great. Shower was clean, bed was comfortable, owner was nice. Only thing is that the walls are thin so you can hear people walking in and out of their room but it isn’t to bad of a problem because everyone is nice

This is an older property and in some ways shows it's age - worn furniture corners, tired paint - but in the important areas was quite acceptable. Excellent bed. Very easy and friendly check-in. Very quiet room appliances such as the refrigerator and HVAC. It's on a fairly major thoroughfare and yet had little traffic noise. A good place to stay while in transit as we were.

We really enjoyed our stay here. We stayed in a King room and the pictures of the room were accurate. The room was clean and we felt safe in the motel and the area. We were under 5 miles away from Universal Hollywood. The bus stop was across the street, but we didn’t use it. We will definitely stay here again next time we come to Universal!!! Thanks for a great stay

The Portofino Inn is a really great value. It was perfect for our family's quick stay after spending a day in Universal Studios. The inside of the room is surprisingly modern. We just had a small hiccup with figuring out the cable, but it was easy to call the front desk for assistance in figuring it out. it's in a great location: we ate dinner at the Islands just around the corner and super close to the 5 Freeway. We would definitely stay here again!

Great for families, only 15 min from universal studios. Second time staying here and this time the chaise lounge was perfect for our 3 year old. Good breakfast included.

This was a family vacation, i reserved the room for 3 days. This is an old hotel, The frond desk guy was nice, the room was dirty, the carpet and room smells bad. I had to call one of the maids to vacuum it the room. Furnitures in the room are too old, I think I’m not going to reserve in this hotel again!

A bit of a hiccup when we arrived at 3:30pm when check in was 3pm. We had to wait a short while and then when we entered our room, it was 2 queen beds instead of a king bed I reserved. The hotel manager said it was an upgrade, and that a king bed room wasn't available for another hour or so. We told them we reserved a king bed 6 months prior. He was able to get us in a king bed room within 5 minutes. Place is clean and maintained well, however it is a little worn and outdated. Otherwise, the place was quiet and convenient to the location of my 50th year high school reunion.

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The room had not been completely renovated however. The small refrigerator was on the floor, the dresser was missing drawers, they instead had wire racks. Only 2 hangers in the closet. Had to request a hair dryer. The shower head had no water pressure. The handyman changed the shower head while we were gone. But the next morning when we used it, it’s now a fire hose! Plus, it was aiming outside the tub, soaking the floor. They only give you 2 small bath towels, one wash cloth. The house phone to call the office did not work. The food was standard continental. Over all, they did have good coffee!

Arrived a little bit early before check in time. While we waited for that time to check in, it was a very hot day. A employee gave my wife and I some juice and showed us a area to sit and relax.

Had a great stay. Arrived late on a Thursday night and Eli, the manager, very welcoming and his hospitality was amazing!! Very knowledgeable about the property and gave us plenty of information about the attractions near by. Would definitely stay here again and I have to say that the coffee here was way better than one of the theme parks we went to.

The area was great, which we were worried about going to LA. The Frank’s restaurant on the property is used in movies/shows. (I don’t believe it’s a functioning restaurant, just for filming which is cool!) They actually were filming a scene during our stay. Although they filmed it was quiet and we didn’t even notice until they were almost done.
The room was outdated. The furniture had wear and tear. The bathroom was clean. You couldn’t hear the people next door. The staff was nice and informative. Overall great service however the room does need some upgrades.

We booked here because it was hypoallergenic including pet-free and allowed late night check in. When we arrived a film crew was packing up from shooting a music video in the diner, and it was fun to see how many shows and videos have filmed here - Childish Gambino, Sons of Anarchy, Euphoria, etc. Great service on check-in and we got hot tea in the lobby. The bed was super comfortable and our room was quiet (upstairs).
Can’t speak too much to the neighborhood as we were getting back on the road, but we felt safe. We grabbed coffee, juice and pastries in the morning and had a great stay!

This is a Motel, not a hotel. Removing the carpet, changing the veil drapery, shortening the black out ( it covers the A/C and doesn’t allow a proper air flow) , refurbishing the furniture and the concrete in the parking lot, it will help to upgrade their estatus. Adding more lighting in the parking lot

Pleasantly surprised after reading other reviews, check-in was swift, friendly and helpful. The continental breakfast was brilliant, cereal, toast, bagels, breakfast sandwiches along with juice and coffee.
The area felt safe and we often walked or used public transport even though we had a car.
The rooms were spacious and had daily house keeping, car was parked right outside, the only noise we heard was other guests above us but thats to be expected as we were ground floor. All of the staff were great, we would stay here again if we were in the area.

We were pleased with how the staff greeted us and helped us put our baggage into our room while we were sightseeing in Hollywood. I am disabled and I very much appreciated their kindness and attention to making our stay comfortable. We have stayed in some "name brand" hotels that could learn a thing or two about keeping people comfortable!
