Great hotel staff and location

I go on holiday 5 times per year. This by far worst experience I ever had. The owner is only objective is money and giving a good experience to his customers.
- Old & outdated shower, tap and showhead. Very rusty
- Insects in the bed and all over the floor. The owner didn’t want to give us a new room although there were a lot of rooms available. He didn’t want to clean the room again for other people. His solution was to spray poison all over the bed and floor while we are stayin in this room.
- You have to use your towels for 3 days. If you want fresh towels before these 3 days. You would need to pay EXTRA 2 euro per towel. As a reason is given that is better for the environment
- The doors are very bad. Doesn’t stop any noise. You hear all the people that are in the hallway as if they are in your room.
After we didn’t get a new room because of the insects in our bed. We decided to leave the room 3 night early. We ended up loosing 400 euro because the owner didn’t want to cancel our reservation. But we felt this was the right decision. Expedia also tried to contact the owner to cancel our reservation but the owner was only after the money. We received a voucher of 87 euro from Expedia to compensate for this.

Very nice humble hotel, closely located to the sea, restaurants, lunapark and more. No need to pay a fortune at other places. Very kind staff too. Parking is a problem though, in the whole area.

Spacious for 4 of us. Convenient for the airport. We stayed there only for 1 night on our way back from the South of Sardinia. We had everything what we needed there. The hotel is a short walk from the centre where we waljed for dinner.

Just a few steps from the port and the historical center. The staff and the owner are very polite and eager to help. Wi-Fi worked well. The restaurant next door is convenient. The only thing I did not like was finding out that the electricity is cut out when one leaves the room, and therefore I never got to recharge my camera batteries. That's the sort of thing that can spoil a perfect vacation. The management should post a note about this in each room, and should indicate at least one functioning outlet to be used for things such as recharging devices.

The hotel is very well located, close to the Historic Town and the beach ( 15 to 20 minutes walk), the room is OK, the breakfast very good. Free parking on the street. The staff very friendly.

Good position just outside old town and could easily walk in. Room was tiny as was bathroom and was difficult for 2 people to cope with. It was one of a couple of tiny rooms on our floor. Reception helpful when bedside lamp did not work.

The hotel was ok and the people working there were great. They were very helpful and positive.
The bed was good and there was air conditioning in the room. The shower didn't have any shelves so it was a bit complicated taking a shower.
If you are a light sleeper, take some ear plugs. You can hear everything from the next rooms because the walls are so thin.
The location was great, walking distance from the beach and the old town.

Alglero is a lovely little place to visit and the old walled town was really interesting, we were there for one night out of our week long visit of Sardinia and could have happily stayed longer but perhaps at a different hotel ,lots f good quality restaurants in the area

This is not a 4 star hotel, hardly 2 perhaps. Honestly by far the worst beds and general state of the hotel: you can hear your neighbours flushing or anything else for that matter. A true disgrace.

As previously, a very nice stay. Staff are great, although the wonderful staff members who were there during my first stay in 2015 have gone to other venues. Hotel is clean and people friendly. Easy access to old town and beaches - about 10-15 minutes walk to each. A good lace to stay.

Good location & clean that's where it ends we could hear other guests going to toilet & moving furniture about not good when trying to sleep breakfast was only ok also when you check out it's another 8 euro per person on top of what you already paid probably all over the island

The staff was really kind and took care of all my requests and curiosities. The room was very clean and the location is at 3 minutes from the center and 5 minutes from the bus stop, just in from of the port.
Cannot complain at all, on top of that, continental breakfast really good with lot of choices.

This is hotel is very clean and the desk staff are very helpful and pleasant but in my view this does not match any other 4 star hotel I have stayed in. It is firmly in the 3 star. The reception, common rooms and bedrooms lacked any sense of style and were all very plain and basic in decor. The bathrooms had nasty plastic furnishings and the shower was barely big enough to allow you to soap yourself (oh and take your own as the soap provided is useless). The toilet was so close to the shower it took a contortionist to use it. The bed was not that comfortable. Breakfast (included in the cost) was cheap and cheerful though plentiful. If you want this hotel for a romantic holiday or to impress do not select it. But for a good value stay near to the old town (about 4 minutes walk) it is fine.

Hotel has a very good location. The only minus is that the walls are papaer thin so you can hear everything what are doing your neighbours.

While the location and cleanliness were very good, the staff friendly and helpful the noise levels both external and internal impacted negatively on our sleep. The plumbing system is very loud.Shower area is extremely small and nowhere to place your toiletries. You could not swing yourself never mind a cat. Walls very thin so you could hear other couples copulating. While we ate breakfast at the hotel most mornings for convenience it could have been a lot better. Teas and coffees were barely tepid when you took your first sip from the tiny cups. Bread was white and tasteless. Scrambled eggs were powdered. Juices were not fresh and limited fresh fruit.

We stayed at the City Hotel for 2 nights as we had to travel onwards for a wedding. After our first day here and in Alghero we wanted to spend our entire holiday here. Rooms are extremely clean, we had lots of space with a huge bathroom. Although the view wasn't the best, it was still pleasant. Air con was spot on. Gianni (sp) on the desk was extremely helpful as we tried to organise our journey to the middle of the island (top tip - you need a car if you intend to travel around this mountainous island!) - he went out of his way to ensure we made it. Also, for a cheap and tasty Pizza, make sure you stop in on the restaurant before heading out to sample the numerous bars and gelaterias in the old city.

good breakfast, very clean, great location. Only negative is that the bed could be a bit more comfortable and the wall are not very thick, so sometimes listen the neighbours.
