Nice clean comfortable

Hotel & Staff very nice but area around Hotel and Veiw from window not so good .

We had an excellent stay at HGB.The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. The breakfast buffet was excellent and definitely worth the price. The room was very clean and comfortable. The location is not ideal, but not bad, either, and for the price it's worth walking a bit more to get to to where all the Bilbao action is.

Poor service, unpleasant strong fragrance in reception and hallways which gave us a headache. Didn’t feel like a four star hotel, 3 at best. Rooms and particularly bathroom watching not cleaned well. We were taken aback when we were provided with a disabled room upon early check-in without being informed beforehand. We absolutely understand and respect the necessity of accessible rooms for guests in need, and we would have been more than willing to wait for a standard room if necessary. However, it was disappointing that the staff did not communicate this to us beforehand.

Nice hotel with a good bar in the lobby and a decent restaurant. The room was spacious and clean but lacked in interior decorating - a couple of pictures on the walls was about all. The biggest downside was that the room was hot at night as, like others we encountered on this trip, they had the heat on with no option for air conditioning. The explanation that the AC is programmed to start in mid May is weak as there have been consistent heat waves in February and April. If you are driving to the hotel and need to drop off your rental car at the airport my recommendation is to drop off your bags with the concierge, leaving the car on the small concrete apron near the front door for a few minutes, then check in when you return from the airport.

Hotel is modern and spotlessly clean. Room was large and bed very comfortable. Restaurant offers fantastic breakfast buffet, best I've ever seen. Overall, the best hotel experience I've ever had.

Woke up after the first night covered in hair, someone else's hair. How utterly disgusting that they didn't clean the bedding. Solo traveller so of course they stuck me right by the lift, must be a hotel rule, they all do it. Was give two single beds (for one person?!?!?!) Instead of a double. Insulting. The whole hotel feels hollow and unwelcoming. Really disappointed and no where near worth the money I paid Desk staff were kind and helpful, the hotels only saving grace.

We were overcome by cigarette smoke smell when we opened the room door. I immediately went to the front desk and aked for another room which they happily provided. We really enjoyed the hotel. The only negative was when just now for this review we were asked how we were treated as Expedia VIP's. What? We were unaware that we qualified for that benift. What does that even mean? Did we miss a benefit because we were unaware?

Very luxurious feel to the hotel. We liked the water refill points and recycling bins around the hotel. Used the gym facilities (although small) good to have as an option. Walking distance to the centre

hotel was fine. a little noisy at night walks need to be more soundproof.

Very clean, lovely customer service. Hotel room fairly basic but has all the necessary amenities and reasonable for the price paid

The staff was excellent. They were top notch from the receptionist to all to the room service. Dolce Vita restaurant is a most to dine. I will recommended this hotel. I will come back

I stayed one night on each end of my trip…it was quiet, comfy and very clean. Quick 15 minute ride to airport too,

Asked for a queen but hotel gave me 2 twin beds and I had to go back to change. Their room is spacious but condition is so so. 20 mins walk from old town and my friends rooms air conditioning was broken and took a few hours to change room. Overpriced hotel with average service and outdated condition.

Some of the reception staff were excellent. The beds were very comfortable, the rooms spacious, and the hotel had a great vibe in the foyer/lounge.

Hotel itsekf is nice. Location is a bit far from restaurants and shopping. Restaurant selections were just okay.

An excellent hotel in a quiet location but within a 10-15 minute walk of the old town. The room was spacious and the bed extremely comfortable. As stated in other reviews the breakfast was one of the best we've had anywhere. We loved the little extras such as the water machines dotted around the hotel and the availability of the cooled green teas in reception - a welcomed treat after returning from a day's sightseeing in Bilbao. The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. We would not hesitate in recommending this hotel, indeed we have booked here again prior to our flight home! Muchas gracias!
