Really nice hotel. Great location next to train station and buses, easy walking distance to city centre. Staff were lovely and allowed me to work from the lounge the following day aftee I checked out with no fuss. Breakfast is served but as far as I could tell, not lunch or dinner. I don't think there is room service either. But there are restaurants and takeaways close by.

The Alex was clean, quiet and comfortable. The staff was friendly and responsive. Walkable to Munsteplatz and restaurants. Everything was as described on website. We had an enjoyable stay.

Quiet boutique hotel in Freiburg, close to the old city centre, which is easily accessible on foot. We adjusted our booking so only got to experience a twin room (we had a double room previously). The room was very small, but clean. The single bed was comfortable, but the pillow was not. We had breakfast included; they don't have a good selection but then it is a small hotel. The property itself is great, with a cosy study where we had hot chocolate and relaxed after a day of exploration.

Very clean, beautiful and quiet boutique hotel! Rooms are nicely designed, a good size. Bathrooms are clean, the showers are a bit tricky b/c the glass wall is not wide so you have to watch how much you splash outside the area but it is tiled very well. There are mini bottles of personal items and a hair dryer. The staff are beautiful people and friendly and helpful. We had the breakfast once, very good. I wish there was an option to get a quick complimentary coffee when someone isn't in the mood or has no time for breakfast, like most hotels. But a 5 minute walk will take you to cafe options nearby. It is about a 7 minute walk to the Altstadt, which is fine. If you want to be directly in the Altstadt, I recommend looking for another hotel but we like being away from noisy streets, although the Altstadt doesn't seem too noisy late at night. There is a quick elevator in this hotel and great curtains and automatic metal shutters for good room darkening. Beds are comfortable. Our only complaint is the wifi.... it is TERRIBLE. If you need good wifi for work purposes or other, don't book here. We had to often try different times of day to get anything to load (travel ideas, social media, etc)

cozy & cute room, nice and modern, perfectly clean. Very friendli and forthcoming staff, everything went smoothly without any complications. Perfect location, very close to the old town, less than 10min walk. Breakfast was okay, nothing special. Overall a great experience, would recommend it.

Location was good. Nice quiet street, but close to the old town and the train station. Front desk service was very nice and helpful. However, this was a business trip and the wifi in my room was terrible- slow and intermittent. It was good in the lobby.

Used this hotel as a stop over on our way to Switzerland. Hotel is near the town centre which you need to get an evening meal. Breakfast was !2 Euros each extra and was very fresh but not a huge choice. Very clean, friendly staff. Room was quite small but bathroom was lovely.

I stayed in a standard double room which was quit small. For 1 person and just 3 nights, this was sufficient but the room was too small for a couple. But besides, the beds are comfortable. The underground parking spots are really too small, even for not a large car. After 1 night, I parked in the public parking at 100 m of the hotel, which cost as much as the hotel for an overnight parking stay (+/- €10), and where the spaces are much larger. The breakfast was good, and the service at the reception and during breakfast as well. It is nice that the hotel is so close to the city center, which gives you a lot of possibilities to eat in the evening.

Amazing staff, genuine, kind and attentive, for this reason alone Id be back. The hotel is basic but very well done. Things to improve: soundproofing of rooms and amenities, serving light lunch or dinner (especially on Sundays when only McDonalds and Burger King are open) would also be great but understand it may not be feasible.
