Great stay. The rooms are a bit small, but comfortable. The restaurant and bar were excellent.

This hotel is in a great location. The hotel is absolutely beautiful with an outstanding friendly staff. We stayed here for 3 nights before our cruise. We were able to walk to the cruise ship.

The location was great

Very close to train station which makes it a bit touristy - however room quality was appropriate for price - breakfast was nice and found our best restaurant experience on the waterfront which was a bit of a walk Wish it was a bit more off the main road area

We stayed here for a few days after an Arctic cruise. It’s a great central location with easy access to the excellent public transportation in Oslo. The staff is friendly and helpful and the bathroom was large with a great shower. The breakfast buffet was very good. The only down side is the small room with no where to put luggage and limited space to hang or store things. There was one chair in our room located behind the TV which was on a stand. Our friends had a little bit bigger room. The decor was nice and beds were comfortable

Splendid in every way and staff outstanding. Room was a bit compact but lovely none the less and shower fabulous. Very comfy bed and no noise from other rooms. Breakfast absolute joy.

History (the hotel's Norway-USA shipping line origins), its pivotal location (within steps of rail, subway, tram and bus lines) and competition from nearby hotels all set a high bar for Amerikalinjen - during our 5 night stay, Amerikalinjen not only exceeded but set the standard. We compared and Amerikalinjen's free to lodgers breakfast was unmatched. Its multi-lingual staff couldn't have been more helpful for example, giving us take-away bags (since our checkout time was before the hotel's breakfast start time); identifying hard to find transit access points for the mobility challenged. We especially appreciated Amerikalinjen's keeping true to its historical roots while modernizing for current standards e.g. to enhance safety, elevator won't go up without a room key.

Fabulous, characterful hotel in a great location. Room was comfortable, clean, quiet and a good size. Inclusive breakfast was great - lots of choice and excellent quality. All of the staff that I met were really welcoming and helpful. I got a call from the concierge desk a couple of days before I arrived. I asked for some ideas of things to do during my visit, and I received an email shortly after with some great suggestions. Highly recommend!

This is a 5 star hotel with 3 star prices! Exceptional staff, luxurious products and comfortable bedding added to an excellent free breakfast and easy to use in-room electronic interface make this hotel an exceptional value. Situated a stones throw from the central train station and adjacent to the tram station provide easy transportation everywhere in this wonderful cosmopolitan city. Shopping, The Opera House, The Munch Museum and Parliament are all an easy walk in a walkable neighborhood. We stayed on the 2nd floor facing a beautiful square in front of the train station with trams running 24/7 - our room was quiet! Having an early flight out on our last night the hotel offered to pack us a breakfast bag to go! It was amazing! The hotel is the 100-year old original Cruise Administration Building - old elements with a beautiful renovation. I’d stay here again in a heartbeat, it’s a great hotel.

We loved our stay at Amerikalinjen! The location couldn't be beat and the property is stunning. We were surprised by how quiet the room was given that there was a tram stop and train station right out of our window. The staff was great and so was the breakfast. We also really enjoyed the drinks we had at the bar. We were sad we could only stay one night. We'll be back!

Staff is nice though it appears someone lost my fedex package. Room is small and heating poor. Complimentary breakfast is very good. Sauna is good .

One of the best central City based hotels I’ve ever stayed at. Everything from staff to condition of rooms was immaculate! Make sure to visit the bar downstairs and get a cocktail as well.
