Great stay, lobby smelled like antiseptic. $50 deposit. The channel up and down button on the tv remote did not work

The lock on our door was not working. We found about it when after checking in and afterwards went out to eat, but someone forgot something and when we came back, the card we thought was not unlocking the door, no LED light or swirling sound. We thought it was the card, but we turned the knob and the door opened. We closed the door again and still thinking it might be the card, we still got the door opened. Wesaw a cleaner nearby, asked for help. She too can't figure out what was wrong and asked us to go to the reception for help. Just imagine if we had not come back. Anyway, they gave us another room. But the issue right now, we got two rooms and asked it has a connecting door. They don't have any available. So now my kids are staying at 10 rooms away from ours :-(

PROS: GREAT location for walking to the mall. Concierge was helpful for getting directions and recommendations. Close to the Metro station. Close to McDonalds, in-house Starbucks, and in-house restaurant similarly priced with other nearby restaurants, but it was much better than other meals we paid just as much for. Housekeeping did an excellent job and refreshed coffee and towels each day.
CONS: The room was a bit “worse for the wear”. The AC was very very loud, which was mostly ok because I sleep with headphones in. The bedding was fraying on one of the beds, the furniture was worn, there were stains on the wallpaper in the bathroom, a burnt lightbulb by the bed, and loose fixtures on the sink and shower.
Compared to the cost for other nearby hotels, I would do it again. The rooms are probably overdue for some serious maintenance.

Hotel is a bit dated. Beds were too hard. Back of hotel is up against tracks so noisy freight trains go by all night long. Some staff is friendly and some are not.
Only good thing is walking distance to National Mall.

Excellent stay at this location! We had no issues what so ever and would gladly recommend this place. It has a parking garage under the hotel so no need to worry about parking. Good place to stay and Uber wherever! I would gladly stay here again!

My family and I visited the Bible Museum which is around the corner from this hotel. The hotel is nice and clean. It was pricey and they did not give any discounts for military 😞. The staff is nice and helpful

My stay was good. The staff were all very polite, friendly, and helpful. But the room was ok at best. The refrigerator didn’t get cold, the room was semi clean, the lining they put in the tub was coimg up and the beds felt like you were sleeping on a box spring. They can definitely use some updates to the property. Now it is close to a lot of the museums, capital, white house, and all the tourists attractions. But overall my stay was ok.

We really enjoyed our suite at The Holiday Inn Washington Capitol. We liked the spacious rooms, The hotel was convenient for meals, it was in a convenient location, and ithe hotel was spacious inside, outside and clean. The taxi stand was located outside the hotel. The staff members were very friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay at The Holiday Inn Washington Capitol on a future vacation to Washington.

Hotel is extremely convenient and walkable to the museums. The L’Enfant metro stop is around the corner and is a fun for most of the metro lines. 12 minute metro ride to and from Reagan airport. The 15-20 minute walk to the waterfront was easy. The rooms were clean and quiet.

Hotel close to transportation. The coffee maker was dirty and did not work. Also the bed covers had stains and occasionally there would be a fowl smell coming from the toilet. TV wasn’t working properly, and there were stains on the carpet. Besides that, hotel is located in a good area.

There was black mold on the ceiling and where the tub and floor met (in the corners and crevices. The TV guide did not work so you had to flip through individual channels to find anything to watch. There was a train that went by our window overnight every night that kept us awake. The food was poor and seriously overpriced. And there was one elevator on one end of the building for people to reach their rooms. It was slow and ALWAYS overcrowded!!

The staff was nice and helpful, however, our room did not have a working exhaust fan in the bathroom. When we showered, it got so hot and remained very steamy for a long time, it was impossible to get ready. The beds were hard as a rock to sleep on, and the tv was difficult to find channels. The air conditioning unit blew very hard onto the person sleeping on the bed next to it, and it was either really cold or really hot in the room (no happy medium). But, location was great. Walking distance to many sites. Would probably stay again (but different room).

We stayed 2 nights. The location is very good. We walked to different areas nearby and always felt safe. The hotel is near many museums and within a walkable distance to the monuments. We didn't use the valet parking. We parked across the street in a parking garage instead. They ended up charging us for three days even though we parked for less than 48 hours.
The room had some minor issues. A light bulb was out. The tub/shower faucet was a little different than what we've seen before but we figured it out. The water pressure was GREAT! BUT the tub didn't drain well at all. I informed them when we checked out so hopefully it gets fixed. The beds were firm. I would stay again even with the minor issues.

Very convenient location for the price. We always stay here when we go to DC. Only con is food options are VERY limited in the evening around here, and the restaurant is lacking.
