It was clean and a big room and bathroom. The owner was very friendly and they have an amazing restaurant directly at the beach!

The room is very comfortable and big! It has a nice balcony where you can see the beach and monkeys while you have coffee in the morning. The staff is nice and the location is perfect!

The extra bed for childern was a little bit small (short), the A/C was old, but working.

Just across the road from an amazing beach. The accommodation is a little dated but so comfortable it doesn't matter. The family who run the accommodation are all very friendly with amazing stories to share about surviving the Boxing Day Tsunami & the civil war. We had some fantastic nights at their bar on the beach. Being there out of season we had a 1-2-1 service 😁

No diet coke in Sri Lanka at all 😤 Obviously the fault of Pepsi etc not this property!🙄🤣

The hotel was very close to the beach and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Specially Roshan and also the rest of the crew. He drowe us around for free and was very interesting to talk to. Very polite and friendly person he even offered us free surfing lessons And certainly does add up to whatever was lacking in other areas.Rooms were very clean and Breakfast was very delicious and overall was a very nice encounter.

Not much wrong here but the bathroom was moldy for a while and there were ants crawling out of the drain. A/C remote wasn't working in our room so had to turn it off and on frequently. But no major deal breakers, few easy fixes we hope to find out on our next visit and it's a very affordable and comfortable place.

magnificent location! right in front of Tangalle beach, where you can swim and stroll along the endless beach. All the rooms have a wonderful views to the sea. The staff is very friendly and answers all your questions. The restaurant offers delicious fresh fish. Definitely a place to return. Good value for money.

Staff running it were brilliant. The lady who runs it (can’t remember her name unfortunately) completely made our stay - she was one of those people who you lucky to meet in life never mind run a hotel, can’t help but adore, one of life’s stars, a very special person indeed. Location is right opposite beach, perfect. Great balconies with fab sea views. Free body boards for people staying. Cool a/c in room. Fridge in rooms. Big beds. So many amazing places to visit in Sri Lanka that didn’t get chance to go to, but would return here just because the lady was so lovely& the place was so great (&I’m fussy!).

Great location nice staff

The location is very good, right on the beach. They make excellent fruit juice and also delicious kotu roti. The family running the place was very kind and friendly. We shared information and ideas from our different cultures. One day one girl in our group had a medical problem (twisted as ankle nearby the hotel) and the ladies from Golden Surfer were very we quick providing first care with ice, creams and what was needed. They called a local terapeutical massage lady specialist, helping our girl recovering really fast. They also helped us finding a good ride to Ella. Golden Surfer was very good value for money for our stay in Tangalle and we had a very good experience staying at their place.

In developing countries like sri lanka, we cannot expect all things to work perfectly. For example wifi problems because of the local provider or power electricity being down for hours in the entire town because of maintenance work.
