We had a wonderful time at the Harris House cabin/house in Brookings. The home was comfortable with well appointed furnishings and outside fit pit. However the steep walk or short drive to Harris beach was a bit away from what I pictured. None the less it was fun and charming and definitely a great place to stay.

This house was in the perfect location close to amazing trails . The house itself was perfect for my brothers family and my family to hang out and relax by the fire pit. We enjoyed walks around the neighborhood and if needed a quick trip to town for whatever was needed.

The home was clean; king bed was comfortable; 2 bathrooms were nice & convenient. Quiet neighborhood during the night. Tight squeeze for 2 cars in the driveway.

Unfortunately I felt like this place was oversold. The lovely patio pictured in the listing was not quite so lovely, the area surrounding it was totally overgrown in weeds and flowers, definitely didn’t look like any effort is put in to maintain it. We had to clean off the swinging chairs to use them. The “fully stocked” kitchen was missing basic kitchen tools which made it hard to prepare meals. In the guest bathroom, the hot water didn’t work in the bathtub. I had to fill a soup pot with warm water from the bathroom sink in order to give my son a bath. The main bathroom/bedroom smelled like toilet water had backed up onto the carpet at some point—if the bathroom fan wasn’t running all the time and the bedroom window open the room smelled like poop. The “entertainment room” was a garage with two old fuzzy chairs in it that I wouldn’t want anyone to sit in—nothing wrong with using the garage, but this definitely didn’t feel like a space to spend time in. All in all, the house holds a lot of potential and has a great floor plan. The owners/managers need to do more upkeep to keep this house desirable and consistent with its listing.

This is a beautiful home. It waa clean and well maintained execpt the outside fireplace area. There was pine sap on the chairs and it was covered with spiderwebs. There was so much else to do we really didn't use it anyway. It was not really set up for the group of 7 we had. The big screen and protector was comfortable for 2. Also there were no "futons", it was just the couches that did not fold. It would be perfect for a smaller group. The neighborhood was very quiet and in a great location. It being so close to Harris Beach allowed the kids to play on the beach before and after other adventures. Don't miss the sunset on the beach. All in all we had a great time in this property and would stay again with a smaller group.

Loved it

It was nice to stay here. We felt like the area was safe. It was nice to have space for the kids and adults. The kids loved the foosball table and being able to watch movies at the same time. The house was just the perfect location for everything we wanted to do.

The house was very nice & cozy for a fun coast trip! Short 2-minute drive to Harris Beach. Love the back deck with the fire table & comfy hanging chairs. The property managers were easy to get in touch with & very responsive to a couple of minor needs that we had. Highly recommend stayijg at this property.
