The home is lovely but very small kitchen and living area on main floor to accommodate up to 25 guests. We had nine adults and were unable to all be together on the main floor. The bottom level could accommodate more but steep stairs kept the older family members from being able to go down. That being said, everything else was fantastic. The views at sunrise were spectacular, napping on the porch bed was so relaxing, and the over-sized hot tub was a favorite. The trip up To the chalet is curvy and a little challenging but that’s what the adventure is about and part of the memories you make. Thank you to the owners for making communication so effortless and keeping up informed every step of the way. Our week at Morning Star was a joyful time…. even with tornado watches and crazy storms…the majority of the guests were professional photographers and loved all that nature provided. Loved our stay!

Beautiful property plenty of room for 18 owner was prompt with questions If I had to give any suggestions it would be more cooking supplies like mixing bowls and baking sheets cooking for large groups was challenging but we made it work can’t wait to go back to gatlinburg

Perfect location and stellar views!

The kitchen and living look bigger in the photos than they actually are. It’s advertised for sleeping 24 but it’s realistically more like 20, especially if your group is mostly adults and teens. For example two of the bunk beds are for kids under 9 (about 4 x3 feet in dimensions ). Also the kitchen is too small if you’re preparing food for 20+ people. The living can maximally sit 7 people. The balcony kind of makes up for it with the outside chairs if the weather is nice. One of the beds was broken when we arrived. It was fixed the second night but two people slept on the floor. The owner did not entertain a partial refund!

Clean and lots of room. The kids loved the game room! If we go back to Gatlinburg with a big group, we’d definitely stay here again.

Apon arrival the check in process was smooth. We had everything we needed along with these the views were awesome and the cabin was incredible

Communication with the property owner was great. Check in process was easy. Construction going on close by but didn't really bother us because some of the kids were up early anyway. Gorgeous view and loved this cabin!. The game room was a life savior with the kids and kept them entertained. The bedrooms were very comfortable. Not every place is perfect but, this one was awesome. Hope to come back and visit again. Loved all of the ammenitites!

The cabin was decorated very warm with Christmas theme ….This cabin is very clean and looks brand new! Very homey and the arcade was a life-saver for all our grandkids! Views were the best we’ve ever had

This was the perfect family retreat for our family with eight adults, five kids/teens and small dogs. Plenty of great areas to get together as well as room for everyone to have their own space. The decks with the most amazing view was our favorite spot! Close to town and hikes and we saw two bears! A memorable family Thanksgiving for sure!

The cabin was spacious and not lacking in entertainment! We spent quite a bit of time playing games and hanging out in the cabin! The decks were a fun place to hang out and enjoy the breath taking views as well. We had no issues, just a few quick questions that the host was very responsive with. A great place to stay!

We really enjoyed our stay here! It was our first trip with a large group of our family and this house was the perfect place for it. We had 16 people and there was plenty of room for everyone to have their space. The game room was amazing…I think the adults enjoyed it as much as the kids! The view of the mountains was breathtaking and the outside was set up perfectly to soak it all in. The owner was very quick to respond to messages and she even had a muffin tin delivered to make sure I had what I needed to celebrate our family members birthdays. We would definitely stay here again!

Beautiful views of the mountains. Comfortable n cozy cabin, nice furniture n decor, nice driveway, comfortably fit 2 pickup trucks n 3 SUV. The drive up to the cabin, not to bad for being that high, you just need to careful with the tight turns. This was a family trip and it was really nice.

This place was absolutely amazing! The kids enjoyed the game room and the adults loved the outdoor seating. There wasn’t a ton of room in the living room or kitchen but that didn’t bother us because we stayed on the deck more than anything. The owners were very quick to respond to any questions we had. The view was breath taking! We also had bears come visit every night which was awesome! Highly recommend!

We chose this cabin mainly because there was plenty of room for our large family to stay comfortably. We had a surprise 50th birthday party for my husband and having the whole family there was a priority. Then you add the game room for the kids, who were in heaven, the large decks with the fire pit, hot tub and plenty of seating for our big group to just hang out and enjoy our time together. The kitchen had everything we needed to cook whatever we wanted. We brought paper plates and plastic utensils but they was no need, this cabin had it covered. I brought extra towels thinking there is never enough. There was an abundance of those too. Very clean and just a beautiful cabin. We were fortunate enough the get the best experience when the 3 bears showed up and wanted to check things out. We were actually cooking bacon on the Blackstone at the time but they didn’t seem to care about that. One had climbed into the back of one of the trucks parked there. We were able to get lots of pictures and videos safely from inside. Speaking of parking. We had enough for everyone to park. I can say that the majority of the large cabins in the area didn’t have that. You'd be lucky to get 2. Pet friendly was a huge plus as well. Did I mention the view. We were early for the fall colors but WOW. Cool mornings and evenings just topped it off. I would highly recommend this cabin for anyone. The price was not out of range. Just bring your food, everything else is covered.

The location of this home offers views that are truly spectacular. Mountain views in all directions, every bedroom had great views as well. The back decks were a big hit with everyone in the group and we spent most of the time out there, enjoying the hot tub, fire pit, comfy lounge areas. Plenty of room for our group of 13. Great game room for the kids too! When we arrived there were no propane tanks for the firepit or grill, owner was responsive in getting some delivered to us by the time we wanted a fire at night. A pipe was leaking in a bathroom upstairs so we couldn't use the sink for a day or so until that got fixed, so some inconveniences on the short trip. Wasn't the cleanest property we've been to. A lot of dust inside and out, cob webs, and dirty windows.... but other than that the house was a great place to stay. Kitchen had plenty of dishes and pans for meals.

This place was beautiful and high quality!

Stayed with a total of 4 families, 8 adults and 9 kids (ages 3 to 7). Plenty of comfortable bed spots for all in this spacious home. The "bunk room" on the second floor was an ideal spot for the 7 kids between the ages of 5 and 7. Each couple had their own bedroom. Between the arcade, the bunk room and theater seating area, there was no shortage of spots for the kids to hang out inside. The outdoor deck space immediately off the kitchen/dining/living area was the spot where the adults spent the most time. The view from this property could not have been better with Mt. Le Conte looming large over Gatlinburg in an unobstructed panoramic view. The outdoor cooking area (propane grill and Blackstone flat top) made meal prep for 17 of us an easy task. There was no shortage of supplies for meal prep as well. Ski Mountain pizza was quite good and able to deliver directly to the house! Gatlinburg was around a 15 minute drive down the mountain (could go either direction depending on what side of town you wanted to visit). The bear warning is 100% legit. We had bears visit at least once each day (once in the AM and almost always around dinner time). It was clear past visitors disregarded the warning to avoid feeding as in all cases the bears were clearly expecting something from us. 2 times the bears were able to open (unlocked) car doors and rummage around! Property access and communication with the owner was seamless. 100% recommend this property!

Our group enjoyed this property. The kids loved the game room. The view was well worth traveling the roads up to the home.

Amazing

We just finished a week stay and had a great experience with the property. The cabin was clean and easily housed three generations of our family. Although we ventured out on several occasions in search of lookout points and views of the mountain, everyone agreed we should have just stayed at the cabin- the views were breathtaking. We had 2 bear sightings at the cabin and another 3 around the neighborhood- a highlight of the trip! Though it is a steep and windy drive up to the property (coming from someone used to flat and coastal!), it really wasn’t far to get to the national park trails, downtown Gatlinburg, and other amusements. We had one day of really bad weather and we’re not able to get down the mountain due to road closures, but the cabin had more than enough to keep us busy! We appreciated to starter pack of trash bags/bath supplies/toilet paper etc., they were more than enough to get us through a few days of the trip (and in some cases the whole week). The property owners were prompt and responsive, and provided detailed and timely information and responses. Thanks for a fabulous stay.

The location was incredible! The views breath taking! The owner was diligent in responding when contacted! It was a great vacation location for our big family! Lots of space to hangout!

We had a big family gathering with Granny, her kids and grandkids and their fiancés. There were plenty of beds and bathrooms. We saw 4 bears while we were there. We had a wonderful time with our family.

Great property! We got to witness multiple bears from the deck which was the highlight of our trip for the kids. Nice location, easy to get to everything. Setup was nice with 3 levels for multiple families. Owner was great with communication. Game room was fabulous and kept the kids busy for hours, even the toddlers.

Morning Star was everything that was advertised and more. Rhoda was excellent and communicated with us before, during, and after our stay with prompt and important information. Probably one of the best views of the Smokey Mountains that you can ever see. We will be returning again soon.

Our family of three brothers and their families (17) ppl decided to plan a quick trip to Gatlinburg. I scrolled through so many choices but luckily landed on this beautiful family friendly chalet. We arrived on Sunday and seamlessly checked in. I received a message from Rhoda checking in on us that afternoon. Great communication from booking to checking out. The pictures are accurate but don’t do the place justice it’s a beautiful place. There were plenty of dishes, blankets and towels for everyone. The hot tub lighting and gas fireplaces all worked perfectly.The view is just amazing of the mountains. The game room was fun for everyone. Our 2 yr old baby niece loved playing on the mat and rope ladder. This is a place made for families to laugh, rest, and play together. We would definitely come back.

The property was in great shape and was just as advertised. Tough to wake up to better views and the sunsets are pretty amazing too! Rhoda was incredibly responsive and made the stay super easy. Would come back again!

This cabin was perfect! We had a group of friends 12 adult men & it was plenty spacious for us. Everything worked perfectly fine and any questions we had the host responded quickly. The view of from this cabin was mesmerizing. Not a far drive from downtown gatlinburg either. An absolute 10/10 stay and would recommend this cabin for any family or group of friends!
