We stayed at Beppe 2 for one week in July 2014. We were a group of 5 adults and 2 small children. Everything was wonderful; the beautiful italian style house, the green garden, a beautiful swiming pool and so kind and generous hosts. The house is very well equiped and has a high standard. The bedrooms are cooled with air conditioner. The area is very private and calm. Lucca is a beautiful town with a lot of charming places and markets to visit. It is also not so far from Pisa and Florence. We got a lot of help from Marco (the owner) about nice beaches and caves and a lot more. We loved everything with our stay. The only thing we regret is why we didn't book two weeks! We miss it already. I would highly recommend Beppe houses.

We had a very pleasant stay. Large area with great patios. Small grass court with two soccer goal, perfect for our three boys. Supermarket and restaurants nearby, and 5-6 minute drive to Lucca. The farm is an excellent starting point for beautiful walks in the hills. When it got cold at night, we lit fire in the fireplace - romantic. Marco was friendly and helpful.

This peaceful apartment in a 400-year-old farmhouse was a great place from which to explore some of the popular locations in Tuscany (Pisa, Lucca, even Volterra and San Gimignano) but also to experience a quieter side of Italy away from the crowds. We spent a week here in August with our two teenagers and loved it. The apartment, 2 floors with 2 bedrooms and a bath upstairs and a large living/dining room/kitchen downstairs, was spacious and cool, thanks to the brick floors and the air conditioning (35 Euro option, definitely worthwhile). The kitchen was well enough equipped to let us do our own cooking every day, close to a supermarket in Lucca (5 min.) and a smaller store in the village of Sant’Alessio (2 min.). The swimming pool and deck with lounge chairs and hammock were well maintained and a great way to cool off in the summer heat, shared with the other rental apartment in the house but large enough to accommodate two families. The thick walls of the house meant that we didn’t hear our neighbors, and the hedges around the back garden give the place a feeling of privacy. The owners were easily available—some of the family members live in one of the three sections of the building, and Marco was very easy to reach by text message if he wasn’t around-- and very helpful with getting us set up and suggesting places to go in the area, chatting with us about the history of the home, etc. The owners have a beautiful vegetable garden and one morning brought us a basket of the tomatoes and zucchini we’d been admiring. The WiFi and washing machine in the building worked well. Bikes were available at the house for inexpensive rental; there are some nice bicycling trails near the river and along the top of the city wall in Lucca. It’s not easy to walk to the village (narrow roads without sidewalks), but the back roads behind the house are a peaceful place for walks, and it’s not far to Lucca, which is a great place to explore on foot. A nice bonus: the house is about 1 km down the road from Chef Paolo Monti’s fantastic Italian cooking school, which we attended the day after we arrived, and spent the rest of the week in the kitchen at da Beppe trying out the recipes we’d learned. The house is also a convenient place from which to explore the mountain villages and hiking trails of the Apuan alps, near Castelnuovo di Garfagnana (45 min). Cinqueterre is about an hour away by car. We would definitely come back here!

The house is very nice, spacious with nice bedrooms. Very pleasant to have airconditioning! The garden is enormous, well maintained with nice sitting area's by the house as well as by the pool. From the terrace you have a nice view on the tuscan hills. The kitchen is well equipped with a good stove and plenty of utensils. The owner is very friendly and in they provide good information about nearby restaurants or in the city. Lovely to find fresh vegetables from the garden delivered by Carlo! A supermarket is nearby and Lucca is within easy reach by bike or by car (free parking near the city walls). The property looks exactly as shown in the pictures, or maybe even better. Very recommendable!

We stayed in Beppe 2 with another couple. Our stay was great. Marco and his family were very nice . Carlos cleaned the pool daily and gave us fresh tomatoes out of his garden.The place was clean on arrival and well maintained. Close to grocery store. The description in the listing was as stated. Air conditioning worked. All the places were rented and it was still private. Most people keep to themselves. Our place had a private patio out back which was very nice and quiet. You are just outside the town of Lucca. With a GPS it was very easy to find. Modern bath. All linens etc. were provided. You could not hear other renters through the walls. The family was very helpful when needed, otherwise you are left alone. It was a great place and we would return if we visit Italy again. Jim and Evelyn (USA) Syracuse,NY
