The house was a perfect base for us to enjoy time together as a family. Plenty of space in the house, great facilities and a very short walk to the beach. Just 5 min drive from Lagos meant there was lots on offer in terms of restaurants, bars and shops. Would definitely recommend this villa.

Great location. We were a family of 11. Villa very clean, lots of space, terrific view of beach/sea. Two minor cons - poor lighting in the kitchen and weak wifi. Any problems we had were dealt with within 2hrs. Beach within 5 min walk. Two beach restaurants to choose from. If you want to rent beach chairs + umbrella, get there before 9.30am. 5 min drive to supermarket, 15 min to Lagos.

I’ll begin at the end by saying our worst experience at John’s amazing property was having to leave it. My family and friends are already planning a return to his enchanting space. John is an incredible host. He is immediate in his communication and accommodating in all the ways he is able to be so. His sincerity and care for his guests and his property are also personality attributes in the staff he has overseeing both. There was never a moment my group was left wanting. In every way our needs were promptly attended. The property is served well by its description but the description in no way fully captures all the entirety of the property. It is beautiful and its location to the local beaches and proximity to the surrounding areas make it the ideal haven for the intrepid explorer or homebody on holiday. Whether you are a beach-goer, sight-seer, foodie, or just looking for a quiet space to enjoy a drink and read a book; John’s property offer it all. The interests of my group are eclectic and at no time were any of us bored. Every morning and evening we sat reminiscing about our day’s varied adventures. If you are looking for a care-free holiday surrounded by all that is ideal John, his team and his property will deliver.

The villa was the perfect get away for myself and friends. It is the perfect space to slow down and unwind. Would recommend booking the close restaurants in advance as they seemed to get booked up very quickly! Thank you.

Spacious inside , pool area had both sun and shade, gorgeous views of the beach from outside dining area , close to Lagos. Something for all ages.

We had four adult couples staying at the home which allowed an individual room with a full bathroom for each couple. Nice large rooms, deck to view the ocean, clean and safe neighborhood!

There were 12 family members who stayed at the villa in Lagos. The accommodations worked very well for our large group. We loved each bedroom having its own bathroom. John was great with accommodating us quickly with whatever we needed, especially beach and bathroom towels… it would’ve been nice to have them there initially. We loved the pool and outdoor area. The place was very well-stocked in the kitchen. Some of the showers didn’t drain very well. The place was a bit worn, but overall we had a great time staying here.

Great experience everything was catered for Great and attentive owners! Very spacious villa We had the lovely Dan cook for us and it was wonderful! Nothing else to say! Highly recommend

The property is lovely and in great condition. It includes 5 bedrooms, a large living space, and well equipped kitchen. The outdoor pool is beautiful and there are great views of the sea from the upstairs balcony, perfect for having some dinner and drinks. The only negative is that the property is not that near a supermarket, so a car would be a plus, although Ubers and taxis are relatively cheap

We enjoyed our stay in the lovely villa. Only minor issues such as no hair dryers, no spare towels or sheets. Kitchen was well stocked of utensils. Oven, microwave and refrigerator were not clean on arrival. However, none of these very minor items distracted from our wonderful stay there.

The villa is in a great location, convenient to beach, restaurants, supermarket and nearby Lagos. Host was accommodating and tried to fix problems that arose with the pool heating. The villa could do with updating everything inside and out , from paintwork to appliances it’s a bit tired and in need of some TLC

Stayed here with 4 children under 8 along with my partner and 2 friends for 4 nights and it was terrific. The whole property was well appointed with ample space, supplies and high quality finishes. Communication with the host was good, leveraging the VRBO app and Whatsapp. The property was actually more impressive in person than the pictures. A couple of the beds were stiffer than I'd normally prefer, although they didn't seem to bother the kids who used them. The location was fantastic in terms of getting to the beach, only 5 min walk even with all the kids in tow. Walk into town was longer (about 30 to 35 mins), but not bad. Has parking (including garage that fit our 9 passenger van just so) and getting around Lagos with a car was a breeze (especially compared to Sintra where we had come from). Would highly recommend this property!

Three generations of our family enjoyed two lovely weeks in June at this very spacious villa. The accommodation was comfortable and well equipped, and the views from the balcony areas very picturesque. With three children under the age of 5 in our group the villa was perfectly located within easy reach of a beautiful sandy beach which is ideal for families. There were two popular beach-side restaurants close by (booking recommended even though we were not staying in high season), but we often chose to barbecue in the evenings, which was easy with everything you need available at an excellent supermarket only a short drive away. Set in an attractive location not far from the vibrant town of Lagos with its appealing mix of traditional market, stylish marina and lively town squares, the villa had plenty of room for us all with wide terraces and a stunning pool area which we all enjoyed. A really great villa for a large group, whatever the age range.

Overall the property was awesome. Little bit of a misunderstanding with property manager Carla. Upon check in she was very rude. Property is in a great location and a beautiful villa. Would definitely rent again

We had an amazing week at this villa. The villa is so spacious with huge terraces and amazing views. We travelled as an extended family of 10, 2 families with children and one set of grandparents. The layout meant each family had their own privacy which was brilliant. Our children are always supervised but before I travelled I was slightly worried about the infinity pool, but this was no issue at all. The ledge is wide so there was no way anyone could accidently fall out! We would love to return again next year.

We have just returned from a fabulous family holiday of 9 adults and 3 children the villa was exactly as shown in the pictures beautiful views of the sea and local beach from the terrace! We will defiantly be returning.. thank you John

This villa was perfect for our group - 10 people traveling together. There was plenty of sleeping room and it was very clean. My only aggravation was we paid 300 euros for the pool to be heated and it was never warm to the point where you could go swimming. The WiFi also only works in the living room but when on vacation that is okay!

We enjoyed a fabulous 10 day stay in Casa Mar.We were a family of 9 including both sets of grandparents. It is so spacious with a twin room and a double room on the upper level and a twin and a double on the lower pool level all ensuite. There is a separate annex which has a double bed and bunks. This suited our 17yr old son who enjoyed his own space. The villa has a huge balcony area with beautiful sea views and was a real sun trap. We spotted dolphins one morning! The beach is only a short walk away.There is a path but the last few metres is a steep enough dirt track. Our parents in their seventies managed fine but it could be difficult if anyone had any mobility issues.We tried both beach restaurants Campimar and Antonios and both are excellent. Even better was Amorizade a family run French restaurant 2 mins walk around the corner. Lagos and Porto do Mos areas are really beautiful and loads to do. We did the cliff top walk from Porto do Mos across to Luz and would highly recommend it. Overall an excellent holiday in Johns villa. Communication with John was very easy with quick responses. Carla who showed us around the villa was lovely too. Thanks so much to you both. Lorna Middleton

We stayed in the house for 4 nights with extended family. The house is wonderful with beds/bathrooms for everyone. It is well furnished and appointed with everything you will need. It's just a minute or two walk to the beach. Our family enjoyed our time! Thank you.
