We had a wonderful stay at Shurtz Overlook! The location was perfect - we were near hiking and local attractions, yet remote enough to allow for the true "getaway" we needed. We especially enjoyed the hot tub and fire pit in the evenings! We had a few minor issues, but Dan & Casey were quick to respond, addressing our issue within the hour. The best part about this cabin was that it was dog friendly! Our pups had the best time - thank you for sharing your lovely cabin with our family!

A lot of times when I go to a place a second time it has noticeably gotten worse or not maintained. However this place has been well maintained and the new sauna is great! Used it every morning. It has a nice delay start feature so that it was all pre heated in the morning. Hot tub was clean, clear and well covered. A great place to watch storms coming over the hills

The hosts were extremely communicative and responsive. The property was beautiful and very peaceful. Kitchen was fully stocked and the hot tub and sauna were great touches. We stayed three nights and really enjoyed the charm of the property.

The hosts were very informative even before we got down there! And kept in contact the entire stay! The cabin was very clean and had all amenities we needed! The views were awesome, hot tub was awesome, sauna was awesome! The corn hole and connect four were great to play on the HUGE wrap around porch when it ended up raining for just a little bit! Highly recommend!!

We had 4 boys ages 2-12 and we had an amazing time!!! Casey and Dan were extreme helpful and quick to respond. The house was immaculate and had everything we needed!! The views were breathtaking to say the least. Would ABSOLUTELY recommend!!!

This cabin was amazing! Dan and Casey thought of everything for a great retreat. The cabin was immaculately clean and had everything needed to relax and enjoy! The view was top notch while sitting by the fire, soaking in the hot tub after a day of hiking, or relaxing on the couches in the great room looking out the huge windows. There is no doubt that when we come back to Hocking Hills, this will be our place to stay! Merry Christmas!

Honestly, there was not one thing that I could possibly say that would be negative about our stay. Everything was absolutely perfect. This cabin is really incredible in every way. The view is one of the best in the Hocking Hills region I would imagine. The owners were always prompt with responding with inquiries. Thank you so much we enjoyed ourselves.

My family and I stayed here for 4 days and it was such a wonderful experience. The sunsets were breath taking and the peacefulness of just sitting on the porch and relaxing was very serene. The bonfires were great and the hot tub was relaxing. I would highly recommend this cabin.

Dan and Casey have a hidden gem on Old Schurtz Road! We so enjoyed our stay. The home was beautiful and the views are breathtaking. They have everything we needed to enjoy a weekend away to celebrate all our September birthdays. We will be returning again next year!

Stayed at this cabin with a group of friends. The location was gorgeous and the hosts put so much thought into little touches (s’mores kit, solar lights by the fire pit, hot tub towels ready and waiting, etc). Home was beautiful and well appointed and communication with the hosts was easy. I would definitely rent this property again.

This property was so incredible. We had the best time at this cabin. It was so clean, so comfortable, and the owners were so accommodating to our needs. They had everything we needed. The property was gorgeous and so close to Hocking Hills. We had some trouble with the Wi-Fi and they were so quick to help us and send someone out to fix the situation. I would absolutely recommend this property again and hope to stay again in the future.

Hocking Hills is one of our favorite places in Ohio and when our 2 friends from out of state decided to visit, we knew we had to pick a place that would be perfect for our girls getaway. This house is immaculate! The amount of care and thought put into the amenities is obvious. Hands down THE BEST place we've rented in HH. Close to the park, not too far from civilization, but also secluded. We could not see any neighbors (aside from the bunnies that live there) and the views of the sunrise and sunset were absolutely breathtaking. The firepit with the led lights is such a cozy touch. Last but not least - the STARGAZING! No one seems to mention this so this came as a surprise but we did not make our planned visit to the dark park because this house IS a dark park, We sat out in the front yard and stargazed at the Milky Way and all of the stars in awe. We felt so grateful we found Shurtz Overlook and we will definitely be back (and also recommending to anyone we know). Thank you, Casey and Dan, for creating such a magical place and sharing it with the world. Book this place! You will be blown away in delight just like we were!

Loved the views and how secluded this place was! Smelled and looked clean upon arrival. The driveway was a little intimidating coming from someone living in a flat cornfield lol was beautiful and peaceful!!!

All that stayed with us on vacation agreed the cabin was an excellent experience, far exceeding our expectations from beginning to end. You can tell a lot of thought and design went into making it an enjoyable experience such as onsite firewood, included soap/shampoo, complementary food (smores, cereal, basic cooking supplies, etc.), Keurig coffee maker, and board games. We’ve stayed at several cabins over the past 8 years and by far this was the most accommodating for your furry family member with pet blankets on the furniture, food and water bowls, and hangers for your leash. The quality of the cabin itself was outstanding with everything in a like-new condition, no comments from the kids about spider webs! The hot tub was very relaxing and in perfect working order, with great views while in it! Speaking of views, we have never been to a cabin with this great of views in the area, you can watch the sunset over the hills on the wraparound porch while going to the front porch to watch the sunrise, very peaceful. Most cabin rentals speak of internet service, but this one had enough speeds for streaming services with no complaints from anyone about its performance. Dan and Casey messaged us to make certain everything was to our satisfaction as well. Overall, highly recommend this cabin if you are in the area!

Clean propert, great views and a beautiful sunset

The cabin was so open and welcoming, the little details were exciting for the kids including the games and treats left by the owners! We were looking for something away from all the things and that is certainly what we got. Just a short drive to the hiking trails and stores. What an awesome place to stay when your away from home!

We had a wonderful stay at this property! The cabin was perfect for our family, plenty of room and we loved the outdoor space with the hot tub and firepit. It felt very secluded, yet we were minutes from all of the trails. The owners were great, kept in touch about things and even left us a little smores basket, which was a nice touch! We would definitely come back, highly recommend this property to anyone looking in this area!

Wonderful cabin for a Hocking Hills getaway! We had a group of 6 that really enjoyed this spot for a bi-annual girl’s weekend. It was the perfect fit for our group with lots of wonderful amenities. The deck was incredible and we spend 90% of our time out there. The fire pit and hot tub were also great. Everything was just easy and relaxing, just like we wanted. The cabin is just as pictured and even better in person! 10/10 recommended, thoughtful host that had helpful suggestions on how to easily access everything and very responsive to any questions we had. It was an wonderful weekend!

My wife and I thought it would be an ideal way to celebrate our son's graduation. We hosted our family members for a relaxing and festive stay. The place was rustic and peaceful.

We loved this cabin. It had everything we needed for our stay. The beds were comfortable. The hot tub and fire ring were nice additions. Location was close to Hocking Hills which was super convenient. My only minor issue would be the bedrooms did not have curtains or blinds. Other than that this place was perfect for our vacation!
