The property is in need of care and renovation. The room has had basic renovations and was comfortable. However the rest of the hotel is now very dated and unclean. Especially the elevator entrance hall, behind reception. We did not use the spa, so we can not comment on that. May this is just a spa day location and not so much of a luxury retreat anymore.

We had a wonderful stay, staff were so friendly and the spa was excellent!

Check in was smooth and found we'd had a complimentary upgrade which was lovely.
Staff are very nice but it all felt a bit chaotic. This was very different from past visits.
Therapist was 20 min late for my appointment and as a result it felt rushed. And it was as didnt get my full time. Room was too bright and no background sounds so a silent massage. Odd.
Food was ok but not worth the price.
Overall its not the hotel it once was but staff remain its best feature.

Stayed here for 2 nights recently as a present to my wife for us to get away.
Let's start with the good stuff:
- Spa facilities are amazing, really beautiful - can get a little busy but still lovely environment.
- Rooms are nice and spacious, bathrooms clean and well equipped.
- Grounds are beautiful and peaceful, lots of space.
- Breakfast really nice in a nice setting.
- Treatments are fantastic - staff in this area especially are wonderful.
Things that can be improved (story at the bottom):
- Staff whilst friendly don't seem to acknowledge when errors are made.
- Clear communication issues between staff.
- The rooms don't have air conditioning so in the summer can get very hot.
- High price point.
During our stay both our nights were interrupted, the first by work (like hard banging on pipework) at 5am. We raised the issue and this eventually stopped, we were told a manager would speak to us but we had to chase this throughout the day - to then be told by the Manager they didn't know anyone wanted to speak to them, eventually we were given 50% off one of our nights. We were initially told they do this work every night and it's important to allow them to prepare breakfast so I'd prepare for that.
The second night was interrupted by an extremely loud disagreement taking place for 2 hours between 1 and 3 am. We were so fed up from the first night sleep being disturbed and the chasing we'd had to do that we just didn't bother raising it this time onsite.

Just all a bit dated. Things like carpets and bathrooms a bit tired verging on grotty. Nice friendly welcome. Bit limited on bar menu choices, when I asked about anything else being able to be done, staff member wasn’t that helpful.

Stayed here several times and normally its great ..however this time was on the ground floor on 2 warm days and couldnt leave windows open because of security issues ..So basically baked for two nights ..no air con, no fans ..Second day room was made but no replenishment of tea and milk and the bedding i stripped off because of the heat was still stuffed down the side of the bed ..Went to the bar and sat down as its normally service at the table ..30 mins later got up and ordered at the bar as it seemed i had become invisible ..Normally great but this time not so great ..not a place i will stay again in summer ..

Loved my stay! …. Treated myself to a nights stay after a stressful week and it was just what I needed. Chloe and Ronnie checked me in and gave me a complimentary upgrade to the Dahlia kingsize room which was glorious …. So beautiful and clean, the bed was also super comfortable.
I used the spa and the gym and both were superb.
The staff here are AMAZING .. so efficient and polite and helpful.
Will definitely be booking again soon.

The staff are lovely, but the food options are limited, mostly fried with just one choice of salad. I have stayed here before and returned because it's a safe option for a solo traveler. Unfortunately, during my second visit, I was given a room in the attic that was neglected. The lock was falling off, and the room was dusty with lots of flies.

The service in the bar was very slow. The Irish coffee was undrinkable. The reception staff were helpful. The food was average. The room was lovely.

We paid £325 for a room Only that was not as per the pictures for a Junior suite. The room was dusty and needed some DIY tlc. Also the bed was not very comfortable but should’ve been a king Size bed yet was two single beds pushed together, the next morning we put room was near to the rear of the hotel we were woken up to a loud bang at 730am and smashing of glass which after arriving at 11pm wasn’t ideal! breakfast was not included for this cost so we had to fork out an additional 30 odd pounds for two of us, plus if you wanted to use the spa sauna and steam room. this was also an extra £20. The staff were very friendly, although I feel this is a very overpriced hotel and value for money was not fantastic for a room that needed a good deep clean and a DIY TLC update

Room was at the top of the hotel - felt like I was in the loft.
Steep stairs upto room as lift didn’t go to the top floor - stairs immediately outside door which wasn’t the best!
Breakfast lovely - but if you don’t order exactly as the menu states everything is extra which I’ve not come across in any hotel before.
Wouldn’t want to stay in the same room again but would probably stay at the hotel if in the area.

My trip started with a drive down country lanes as the postcode took us to the back of the Hotel and at 9pm was quite a feet. Used the postcode BR8 7SQ instead and that took you to the front gate for entrance.

Staff at reception was fantastic although the 100 pound deposit at the desk was a bit unusual especially when room paid for in full.
The room was clean and of good condition although radiator noisy and the bedside light did not work.
I was surprised that breakfast was not included and that would be another 40 pounds on top. But that was me not reading the booking properly as was a last min urgent trip.
All in all a nice place but had no time to enjoy facilities so cant comment on them.

Not happy with the fact that this hotel charge you £100 up on the check in and you need to wait over 5 days to get your money back, and yes is not a deposit like all the other hotels do in UK, they really charge you the money and then you new to wait to get it back… no sense but not satisfied at all.

The staff at the front desk were very polite and checked us in quickly. Maisey was particulary friendly and we were very pleased with the SPA facilites at the property. The room we stayed in was very clean and well presented and the we will definitely return here when we next plan a relaxing night away.
