Excellent stay!! Just need more varierty of food (every day chicken and pork ). The one day they had oxtail you had to queue for extended period to get some.
Servers are excellent.
The play room and game room was excellent for the kids. The playroom has supervision, you could leave your child and come back at specific periods.

Prior to my arrival hotels.com was absolutely awful, there was no confirmation email sent so I was unable to book my transfer. I was left stranded at the airport when I arrived and lost an entire day. I was told to take a private taxi in a very dangerous part of town in order to get to my hotel. Luckily Family on the island rescued me and took me back to their home and then embarked on the journey the following day meaning I’ve lost an entire day which I will be complaining and getting a refund for. Once I arrived, I constantly felt like I was being sold to by the hotel reps. They up sold an upgrade where IThey up sold an upgrade where I already had Seaview, then gave me the back of the hotel with a tiny part Seaview with a balcony. I was never given a confirmation email to check whether I had a balcony with Seaview in the first place. However, I paid to be downgraded, the following day this was solved and I moved back to the original room which had a stunning Seaview. The upsell does not end there, we were asked to attend a seminar which looked to take more money. Then we are charged taxes on top of any services you purchase. There are hidden charges in everything so be very careful. Apart from that, the food is lovely the beds are comfortable.

Lot of good food! Service went out of there way for requests. Staff were friendly. Plenty of activities to do and see.

The staff here were very hospitable and had great customer service. Just wish the shows were longer and more pool activities. Would definitely recommend staying here very family friendly.

I was disappointed with the service, the food and the price at Moon Palace. I waited hours for my room with no compensation. There is a foul odor at various locations throughout the resort. My niece and her family were upgraded to a large suite which had sewage backing up in the sink. That explains the foul odor. The spa was the highlight of my stay and the only reason I would consider staying there again.

The property was clean. Checking in was very long and tedious, the staff was not very helpful. They don’t give you time to settle down and regroup from your trip, instead they bombard you with signing up for a 90 minute time sharing event. It’s a real turnoff when you decline their offer their attitude towards you becomes very rude. The experience I had in Ocho Rios is not what I am used to when I visit other properties in Montego Bay and Negril. They don’t make you feel welcome and they are not very accommodating. Asking someone a question makes you feel like you’re bothering them. I don’t think I will be visiting that resort in Ocho Rios again.

Even though they were priced $1000 - $2300 ABOVE their closest competitors, we decided to give them a try anyway. Below is a brief assessment of the overall experience:
THE GOOD:
Beach and central location are amazing. Their Italian Restaurant, (Gondola), and theirJapanese Restaurant, (Momo), were the ONLY good spots to get good tasting meals. Boulangerie was great for Desserts and coffee brands. The Piano Bar and Pianist created an intimate and enjoyable occasion. Nightly Entertainment line-up were typical hotel quality. Mattress in guest rooms wOUTSTANDING! We also found MOST wait staff to be courteous and efficient in all food areas. Sharna-Kay at Front desk was amazing! Vacation Club staffers were also proficient.
THE BAD:
Many Front Line Staffers unfriendly. More than 2-3 Agents and better processes needed during heavy forecasted times to avoid long excruciating lines. Food in Jerk Hut and Main Dining horrible in taste and presentation. Lots of bad tasting food wasted. Hotel has Black Mold on exterior. Lobby leaks during rain. Room Vents dirty. Unsafe raised transition from hall to guest room. Trip Hazzard. HSKP needs improvement.

We've been to a few all inclusive hotels but so far Moon Palace Jamaica stood out exceptionally. Their menu choices were great for all culinary culture and even kids at the main buffet. There were other restaurants of choice for an elegant dress code in the evening. They are numerous evening entertainment and daytime activities for everyone. No added cost for drinks, no matter what you choose off the nenu. Great place for couples and families alike. Would definitely recommend.

I didn't like the fact that from the moment i checked in I was bombarded by the marketing team to attend their "vacation club" AKA Time Share meeting. I wasted 3 1/2 hours of my vacation time in their vacation club meeting where they were trying to convince me to sign up. Even right before checking out I went to the gift shop and another rep walked up to me trying to persuade me to sign up for an offer that they were promoting. I felt harassed.

Elevators broke down twice. Air-conditioning in our rooms constantly stopped working. There is no elevator to the floor with the beach,the pools, and the buffet. 3 and a half flights of stairs, and i have a bad knee. They did not provide shuttle from the airport,as they advertised. That was an additional $500, and hard to set up from the US. They offered to stransport us for $450. I wasnt paying twice for the same service. The staff at the front desk could not keep up, and seldom answered their phones. It took an hour to check in. Could not get towels and wash cloths. The food was not good, even the kids didn't like it.
They tried to sell me a vacation at $1500 dollors off, while i was waiting out in the heat for the ride they did not provide. I had to laugh, at that one. Their other guests got to sit in the Air-conditioning and relax. I could not risk, missing my ride, they would only wait 10 minutes, before leaving.

The check in process was long and if your waiting for elevator at times it can be lengthy if your staying in the south part of the hotel where they have elevator A,B and C. The check out is similar as they are no dedicated check out, you join the regular line unless your a member but even so there’s a wait for that too. Overall very nice beach, one of the very best. Entertainment is great, food could be hotter meaning not warm but as you expect from your own cooking” hot”. The staff really makes the impression that are there to help especially those from the gift shop, they were amazing towards my family as they went above and beyond for a need. I particularly enjoyed the child care / play center for they did an awesome job. The place is not brand new as it was the old Jamaica Grande now Moon Palace and over the years I’ve stayed a few times. Overall good experience minus the elevators, check in and check out process. Nothing against the front desk but the COMPANY can stream line a faster less iPad questionnaire that slows the process. From a scale of 1 out 10, 10 being best, my personal number overall experience is a 7 respectfully.

Another thing the workers on the beach area that does the water sports were not welcoming. The entertainment could have some improvements on it, that was a bit boring. Went to the Pier 8 restaurant and they did not have anything that I ordered so I had to settle with what was there and the entrèe meal was burnt. Otherwise, the resort is perfect. Food and drinks on point. Jade at the Gondola restaurant made my experience amazing, customer service on point.
