Booked for 2 adults and 2 children and was given a self contained apartment with sitting area and tiny kitchen plus 2 bathrooms over 2 floors. View was amazing, staff polite and breakfast good. Only caution is upstairs bedroom ceiling low (6 feet) and stairs very narrow so may not be good for those with mobility problems. They do have rooms without these issues so just ask but we felt we had the best rooms here for the view alone. Roof terrace a bonus.

Beautiful Riad, nice room & hot water!! The staff was kind, helpful & very attentive. Hubby had a stomach ache and they got him tea to make him feel better. This is our bad - we didn’t realize that we hadn’t paid online when booking. There was some confusion but they were kind & patient with us. A pleasant b&b. The breakfast and service were excellent. We had a room with a sea view which looked out over the rocks but it meant that the room was a bit damp.

Window became detached upon opening. Made for a chilly, noisy night, but staff quickly repaired, then all was well. Rooms have no heat, but cozy sleeping under blankets. Very quiet. Good breakfasts. Good location, close to souks.

I really appreciated the riad host that he protected my friend from our tour guide who tried to take advantage of her vulnerability. The riad host immediately told the tour guide to leave the room. The host warned us that our tour guide was a crooked snake. I am glad that host stood his ground firmly to protect us and the host treated us with great respect. He served us an amazing breakfast. The riad was beautiful and clean, and it obviously is hundred years old that some areas needed some surface cosmetic work. The terrace on top of roof has good view of Atlantic Ocean. I would definitely return to this location. I want to say thanks to riad host for taking care of us with his protection.

The terrace was perfect for watching the sunset and breakfast. We were a little cold so we had breakfast downstairs which was fine. We always had 2 types of bread with an omelette, coffee and juice. Location is good for all parts of the Medina, about a ten minute walk from where the taxi drops you off.

Spent one night at the hotel and were very satisfied. The hotel is well located in the city center at the ocean. From the roof it offers an absolutelly outstanding view. The rooms are nice and clean. To get to the beach, it takes roughly about 10 minutes by foot walking through the beautiful, narrow streets of Essouira.

Rooftop deck overlooking the ocean and rooftops. Delicious breakfast, spotless rooms with efficient, helpful and happy staff. A softer bed would have made the stay perfect.

Room offered was substandard we had to pay another CS 20 to get an acceptable room. The owner very unfriendly. No creditcard option she charged us 10% surcharge over bank rate for the payment. Very dissatisfied.

I had been staying at a different riad in Essauoira but decided to switch to Dar al Bahar and I am so glad I did. It is a lovely riad located on a cliff above the ocean. Some rooms have ocean views, mine did not but I would leave my windows open so that I could smell and hear the ocean. It has a spectacular roof off terrace where a lovey breakfast is served. The staff is very nice and helpful. It is located on the northern side of the medina which I preferred. There are a number of good restaurants nearby and it is an easy walk to shops. When I come back to Essaouira I will definitely stay here,

I only wish I could have stayed longer! The rooftop patio is a great place to spend the morning reading. The owner and staff were friendly and helpful. I loved every minute.

Really pleasant hotel in a quiet part of the old town yet only a few minutes stroll through the lanes to the central square. The staff were all friendly, extremely helpful and only too eager to make our stay as enjoyable as possible, nothing was too much trouble if it would make our stay really special - which it was. Great terrace for breakfast, fantastic sea views - sea view rooms probably recommended if available - looking out over a rocky coast and towards the sandy beaches. Highly recommended both for accommodation and the warmth and help of the Hotel staff
