Yes, I did put in my special request Belizean Style Sunday lunch and it was delicious and tasteful. I don't have any negative to add. Miss you Shelly will definitely see you when I revisit. My go-to place to stay for years. Shelly goes out of her way to fix any problems. Nothing but good things to say about Julia's Cabanas and the team.

This property is on the beach/beach access and very close to many shopping and restaurant/bar options. The room was property was fair and needs some updating. It was very noisy on one of the nights (Saturday) i believe from the bar next door. Overall. It was decent for a couple of days. If staying longer, this may not be an option.

This is the second time I have been to Placencia, and the second time I have stayed at Julia’s. I will stay there every time. The cabanas are clean, safe and centrally located. You are treated like family. Anything you need, they are there for you. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

Shelley was an amazing host. Always there tongreet you and help if you needed anything! I cannot say enough nice things about her. Our beachfront cabana was next to the bar. They did warn us ahead of our stay, but decided to go with it anyway. There were times it was loud, but not unbearable and worth the view on the beach and price. Julias is in a great location within walking distance of everything. For this reason we didnt need a car rental. Loved Placencia!

This was one of the best places we have ever stayed. Shelly was so helpful, and cheerful, and made our stay enjoyable. I highly recommend these cabanas. The property was super clean. We stayed next to two great restaurants on the beach and they were also fun at night for social mingling with world travelers.

The location is incredible if you're looking to stay as close to the beach as possible. The staff are all incredibly helpful and friendly. It is quite loud with the bar music next door, so if you're looking for peace and quiet this probably isn't your spot. The location is very central and walkable. The only thing that was off putting about our room was that there was a flying ant infestation in the wall of the bathroom. They ended up coming out after dark around 9pm and quickly filled the bathroom, but they were back in the wall in the morning. Shelley was on it right away in the morning with insecticide but its unlikely she would've known it was in the wall because there was no sign of it during the day.

Everything about Julia's is top notch. All of the staff are super helpful and curtious. Our room was impeccable each day and the location can't get better. Shelley and her staff will impress you will you decompress on the beach!!

The value in this property is in the location and beach access. Very close to many delicious dining options and well situated along the boardwalk. 10 minute walk to everything including placencia pier and beach club on either end. Unfortunately, the beach was soiled with seaweed/kelp and garbage (I know this is not under the property’s control and I don’t know if it was a bad time for this?). We walked to Placencia pier and swam there but be careful as there are lots of stinging jellyfish on that side. Host was attentive and friendly. As stated, can get loud with the bar next door- we brought ear plugs and were fine. I was, however, disappointed that Expedia stated laundry was included because when I asked I was told it would cost 15bzd per load. So it is definitely not included as it states. Would not recommend getting a cabana if it’s not beach front. Our friends had to leave due to the heat because there was no breeze and the A/C couldn’t keep up. Cabana’s themselves are cute, but fairly run down and dingy. We had issues with bugs (big red ants and cockroaches) so had difficulties keeping food or garbage in the cabana. We kept the lights on at night to stop them from emerging. Amenities were weird as there was a coffee machine but no coffee or sugar. Very odd and unclear front desk hours- we went to talk to them about something at 8am and the building was empty and shut down.. All in all, a good stay if you’re looking for somewhere centrally located, but extremely basic.

I travelled solo and stayed for 13 nights and never once did I feel unsafe. My unit had a nice little kitchen with a fridge and micowave. The bed was comfortable and the water pressure and warmth was fantastic. The property worked for me but might not work for everyone. It's located next to one of the most popular bars in Placentia (Barefoot bar), so noise from the music does occur in the later evening. I just put ear plugs in and was fine. During the day, the music is very low so it isn't an issue and it all goes quiet at midnight. If you are looking for fancy, this is not your spot, but if you are looking for a 3 star, local, relaxed place where a friendly face will always greet you, then Julia's is the perfect spot. If you are flying in, it costs $20 BZ to get a cab ride from the airport. You can find amazing breakfast, lunch and supper prices...be sure to check out the small mom & pop places on the main road where you can get tacos for or an egg burrito from a local woman selling from a plastic container down by the bus stop.
