Nice remodeled no-frillls motel, with the whole “base camp” outdoorsy theme going. The lobby is sort of set up like a mini lodge with beer and wine for sale and big leather couches and a fireplace. Location is across the street from dining, grocery, and Lake Tahoe. No coffee or coffeemaker in the room, which was strange. Coffee in the lobby but it doesn’t open until 8:00 am.

The room was nice & comfy, but small. and bed was comfy also. No coffee maker. But an electric tea kettle. Disappointed there wasnt a bath tub, just a small shower. I had called and asked for a late (noon) check-out before i arrived, which was approved. Typical check out is 11am. Was annoying when the maid knocked on my door at 11am, and used her key to enter my room, when I was sleeping. I told her i had arranged a late check out- at noon. Then 30 mins later, she bangs on my door again! So i AGAIN told her, i had arranged a late check-out, at noon..! Wish the staff would pay more attention and communicate with eachother..

We checked in were warmly greeted by Johnny. He was so nice and friendly told us about things that were going on and a great breakfast place called Duffs Diner which was absolutely delicious

Love this place! The beds are very comfortable. The staff goes above and beyond to make things right. The fire pits are so fun and the location is fabulous. We will definitely be returning.

They are a little dark because most have a walkway in front requiring shades to be drawn. It seemed to be a pretty good value compared to other spots. It would be nice if they provided a simple breakfast in the lobby.

We didn't get to stay as long as we'd liked but our room was comfortable and a perfect location. we would absolutely return to Basecamp for our next Tahoe City visit.

This was a no frills property, but very clean, with self parking, great staff and within walking distance to many activities and restaurants. Best of all, it was extremely quiet!

This was our 2nd stay at this Basecamp location and it did not disappoint! The location is so convenient for walking everywhere in Tahoe City! The staff is very accommodating and helpful. We love the small amenities like the outside fire pits, happy hour with local beers on tap, and the ingredients for smores just to name a few. If I had anything to complain about it would be the shower head. It is old and needs to be updated, but really not a big deal. The beds are very comfortable as well. Overall, and excellent stay and I would highly recommend.

This is one of my new favorite hotels in Tahoe! The staff was amazing, it was walkable to restaurants and a Safeway and cvs right across the street. 5 minute walk down to the beach/park.

Unfortunately,we had to cancel at the last minute because my wife had a stroke.I called the motel and they were glad I called and would refund my money but it was up to Expedia. I tried to find a phone number for them but unable to find. I learned an expensive lesson and will NEVER use Expedia again!!!

Great location on North side of Lake Tahoe We were in town for a wedding and found this place to be close enough to everything as far as eateries and shopping, CVS right across the street, Safeway market within a mile,

Staff was very helpful getting me a lock box to check in after hours. Great communication, very friendly. I would definitely stay here again.
