The room had a strong cigarette smoke smell. The walls were very thin, so it was extremely easy to hear noise from the other rooms.

We loved the location near the river on a street with a good selection of restaurants. Our studio was perfect with a well equipped little kitchenette. Lighting was good and the king size bed was very comfortable. We also enjoyed the small patio area looking out at the green space behind. Our only complaint was that the Air Conditioner was noisy.

What a great find. I travel nearly half the year, so I see a lot of hotels/motels. This place is an amazing find. It’s clean, it’s renovated, it’s right next to a side street with several amazing restaurants, parking is good and there is a gazebo area where you can BBQ and lay back with 8-10 friends. My room had stuff you just don’t see these days, a working fridge, a small kitchenette with microwave and broiler. They even had great coffee in the room with real crème and milk in the fridge. A few glasses, some cutlery and a wine opener that actually works. I can’t say enough about how nice my overnight stay was. My stay at another place a week earlier was a total disaster, and so I was extremely please when I walked into my room and saw what I had. Very nice bed as well, super comfortable and if you can imagine a QUIET air conditioning system. Most make so much or a racket, that you need to decide on air conditioning or a decent nights sleep. Two thumbs way up

Castel de lar mer is a wonderful place to stay in La Malbaie. It is convenient for touring around, walking if you like and very close to some excellent restaurants. Great value for the cost and the staff are most helpful. Rooms are large, well equipped and very clean. Our place to stays always when we visit La Malbaie.

Our first stay in this hotel. Just picked it from the Expedia list. It was excellent! Great area, with food options nearby (try Allergro nearby). Walking distance to a playground, and for a walk along the St. Lawrence. Also - this hotel had the most comfortable beds I've had in hotels in a long long time. A great place!
