We stayed at the Barocchetto Romano after our cruise, and before going to the airport for a flight back home. This was a perfect place to close off our vacation. First, the location is wonderful. Moments from the beach, surrounded by restaurants and shopping, all in a pedestrian area (so no cars passing by our building!). Our hosts were charming, and very accommodating. We arrived early, and they were kind enough to let us drop off our bags so we could explore the neighbourhood – this may not always be an option, but ask, they do everything they can to make your stay enjoyable. The unit itself is reached by stairs. They have a secure door at the bottom of the stairs, as well as one at the top – we appreciated this sense of security, although the neighbourhood is so nice I don’t see any need for concern. Once through the door at the top of the stairs you come to a marvelous terrace, with lots of seating, and even an ocean view. When we weren’t out exploring, or sleeping, we spent much of our time up there with a glass of wine, and meeting some wonderful guests staying in another room. There is a well equipped kitchen, with lots of treats available (nominal cost). They had a great coffee machine, and served a fantastic breakfast. The décor is very charming, and you feel at home rather than feeling you are in a hotel. I would not hesitate to stay again; fantastic hosts, excellent location near the beach and the airport, and perfect place to just unwind. Highly recommended A

I liked the property and the staff. Perla was very helpful and gave good suggestions. There were plenty of restaurants and shopping area right there. The only problem I had was with the bathroom that was outside of the room and we had to cross the living room to get access. The description said we had a "private bathroom " which I thought was joined with our bedroom. But we were the only one using it and we had a key and it was cleaned and supplied with fresh towels every day, so we managed.

Absolutely wonderful! The breakfast was amazing. The host was very generous with her time and knowledge of the area. The room was perfect for what we needed and very relaxing. The balcony has great views! Highly recommend!

Absolutely loved my stay. Perla was so nice. She provided a wonderful array of breakfast options. Everything was well kept and very clean. The location had a nice balcony— it was literally on top of a shopping area and was across the street from the beach. When I get to visit Rome again, I will definitely try to book there again.

The property was nice but a little dated and needed a refresh. We enjoyed seeing what the beach and resort area near Rome was like. It was also very close to the airport for or last day in Italy

It was fine for the one night we spent in Ostia. Homey and central, close to great restaurants, beach and pedestrian area. Getting in touch with the hosts was a little challenging, if you don’t have a European phone make sure to connect with them in advance to organize check in.

I would have to agree that it’s a very nice place to stay. The owner is fabulous and she’s always willing to assist. The metro is only 10 min walk away from this place which takes you to central Rome. Overall, I have enjoyed my visit to this place. Also, there are some good restaurants around this place. In fact , one is right below this place which became my favourite spot for dinner each night (3 day stay). If you’re planning to rent a scooter from central Rome then make sure it speed goes past 70 KM.

Superb rooms with lots of dining in a safe, beautiful neighbourhood, a block from the beach. Wonderful hosts, who went beyond with arranging superb transportation for pickup at Hotel with great people. A pure diamond place with friendly wonderful people.

Feels like home. We love the location, close to the town centre, the sea and jetty. Beautiful sunset. Saw the sun drop off the clear horizon. Abundant Italian restaurants and even a McDonslds and Carrefour hereby. Great breakfast at the rooftop patio. Thank you Perla,

Great little B&B over a pretty good place to eat. Little difficult to locate but most places are...this is common overseas. The owner is super sweet and extremely accommodating. Area is awesome, beautiful sand beach and plenty of fun shopping. Parking is plentiful here...not true in most of Italy. Very humid during our visit. A/C did not work...just blew on us all night.
