Staying on the periphery of Eauze was an unusual experience. It will be especially appreciated by those who seek a simple life untouched by modern civilization and who support an eco-friendly approach to living, gardening or shopping. Owner’s country house and its flowering garden blend naturally into the surrounding vegetation and vice versa, as if nature has grown into his house. Pilgrims, people promoting ecological balance or groups/families seeking harmony with nature or privacy, not expecting luxury accommodation and not averse to dry toilets, will feel at home here. We took advantage of the contacts of the helpful owner to discover the historically and culinary rich region of the Gers department and to meet the great and indomitable producers of Armagnac brandy.

Could be little bit clean

The host is very trusting and not commercially inclined, which is really a breath of fresh air in today's day and age. It's perfect if you are just looking for a simple place to sleep with wifi and basic facilities. There are composting toilets, so it's definitely alternative.

It's a little messy, but that didn't really bother me.

there is a smelly outhouse in the house. stuff laying around everywhere. beds and sheets were very old. RUN!!

Misleading & false information advertised: *No sanitation, ie no flushing toilet *Pictures do not equal reality *€5 for torn, dirty sheets, even if you have a sleeping bag ,& don’t want them. On arrival I said I had a reservation, & was told it is not a place for pilgrims (discrimination), but they had already taken my money. Room was a haven for mosquitoes, had very thin walls, & the mattress slats creaked. The shower & basin were dirty!! I would have left, if I had not arranged for my luggage transfer the next morning. The place appears to be a boarding house for men, & does not keep to health or hospitality regulations or laws. It should be shut down.

Didn't like a lot

The host demanded that we pay him an additional fee for sheets: 5 euro each, so 15 euro on leaving although that was not stipulated on the booking.com webpage. It seems like sheets should be automatically included in a hotel booking, no matter how primitive. Also multiple zoropsis spinimana in the room which can lead to a painful spider bite. I even found one had crawled into my coat pocket!

Beautiful old house in a lovely rural setting. Jean Pierre was very helpful and friendly. A nice experience.
