No coffee machine in room

I paid $400+ for one night and I was highly disappointments. The room was dingy and low budget. Upon arrival a small cockroach was found running across the linen. The furniture was stained and unsightly. The shower towels were thin and low quality. In my opinion the price did not reflect the poor quality. The lady at the front desk was very nice and welcoming. This was a last minute reservation but I will not stay here again.

The staff is friendly and helpful. This hotel is a half a block from the wharf and it's an easy 5-minute walk to the boardwalk. The grounds and rooms are clean, and the bed was comfortable.

There are no coffee pots/coffee in the rooms

The location is only a block from the Santa Cruz Pier and an easy walk to the Beach Boardwalk. While the rooms are basic, they are comfortable; one is paying for the location. Parking is free and security of the parking lot enforced. The rooms also contain a microwave and tiny mini-refrigerator, which is a great convenience.

The plumbing was in poor shape, with a leak in the bathroom sink and the knob for the tub/shower loose; it would come off in one's hand. People with mobility issues should know that this property is on a steep hill and so even the 'ground floor' rooms involve dealing with a very steep slope. Rooms on the upper level require negotiating multiple flights of steps; there are no lifts. Also be aware that there is no coffee maker or teapot in the room.

proximity to the wharf. rooms were well maintained. staff very helpful. I felt safe which is important to me. I’ve been buy this hotel many many times over the last 40 years and this is the first time I actually stayed here. I’m glad I did and will be back.

on a hilly slant so if you don’t like walking up or down hills it could be a problem.
