Wonderful host! She personally called our room to make sure the accommodations met our needs. I don’t recall any motel or hotel ever showing that level of care towards guests. The building is older because everything in Berkeley is older BUT the furnishings, the bathroom, the bed, the outlets for all the digital gadgets people have, are all modern and comfortable. We will definitely stay here again on our next visit. A bonus is the walking distance to local eateries and the North Berkeley BART station. No car needed to get over to San Fran.

It was close to my daughters house where we were visiting. It was quiet and the king bed was comfortable. The bathroom was clean and functional. We have stayed there before and will do so again.

The room wasn't equipped with an air conditioner and we were advised of that fact on checkin. Most of the year an air conditioner is not needed being close to San Fraancisco Bay. It was a bit warmer during our stay, but we were given a room on the ground floor with a fan which made it reasonably comfortable.

location good...needed parking so that's why I booked

there was a strong air freshener (febreeze perhaps) smell in the room...very strong artificial smelling scent...would have been better if it was a more natural scent or fragrance free...these sprays hotels often use are toxic and hotels need to stop using them...opened windows to mitigate and that helped somewhat...shouldn't have to be doing that

staff was amazing, very organized and helpful. when I accidentally made my reservation for a day too early, without question she switched it to the next day at no penalty. super understanding and kind! as one do the cheaper options you can find in Berkeley area, it’s a nice location, close to lots of restaurants and cafes, and not far from beautiful Berkeley marina. room is comfortable and clean and great option for the price!

the only thing I can think of is the outside light shined brightly in our room during the night. if you don’t mind curtains closed it wouldn’t be a problem though!
