A very cozy and comfortable stay in the heart of Cambria. Highly enjoyed the tasty freshly made breakfast, tea/coffee/fresh biscuits in the common sitting room. The bed was very comfortable, the room was quiet and extremely cozy due to a fireplace. The shower was very good.

They provided a really nice breakfast each morning of our stay. Well thought out menu vs. continental breakfasts at other locations. Beautiful rooms were very comfortable. Provided live streaming for major channels and live sporting events as well as Hulu and Netflix. I had a little trouble getting the t.v. to work on the 1st night (operator error-me) but the hosts were quick to respond, polite and very helpful. A great little B & B!!!

Seems a bit petty, but in the older reviews there was mention of an afternoon happy hour / hospitality time. The hosts advised that this had been discontinued, no doubt a covid casualty. Coffee makers and fresh baked cookies in the parlor were a very nice touch.

Lovely place! Very quaint, clean rooms. Breakfast arrived on time, with a smile and was tasty. Close to town. All in all, a nice overnight experience (we arrived after dark and left in the morning, so we didn’t get to experience Cambria). Thank you.

Not sure it was a great stay

The breakfast was hot, fresh, very tasty. We would have liked it a bit earlier (at least by 8) so we could get an earlier start on the day. The room felt very homey, clean, extra amenities. I wish we had many more days there. The bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. We appreciated the fridge with the freezer as well. The shower was large and the water output substantial. My husband is tall and often has to crouch under the water. The shower head was adjustable for height. We didn’t use the fireplace because it was warm but it is a nice amenity and we hope to return in a cool season. This is minor but I liked the bench at the foot of the bed. So often you must use the floor or bed to set your belongings.

As mentioned above, we would have liked the breakfast a little earlier. We were disappointed not to have someone on sight to welcome us, ask questions of since the routine was new to us. Another couple had not received their text and had no idea how to get in. Parking wasn’t a problem for us but was tight for others. One car had to park perpendicularly along the side fence. Perhaps a side should be posted so those parked parallel wouldn’t accidentally back into a car parked along the fence. Also perhaps a sign could be posted of where to park if all the regular spots are taken.

The breakfast was tasty, filling, and fresh. The ambiance of the room was delightful, and the availability of in-room coffee, fridge, and gas fireplace very much appreciated.

The accommodations were wonderful, and the breakfasts were delicious.

There was a slight problem with the booking. I booked two nights with bookings.com and J. PATRICK house only out us down for one. They changed the booking easy enough but I believe they forgot to inform the cookie and breakfast delivery for the second morning so the breakfast was an hour late and there was no cookie the night before. I texted when the breakfast didn't show up and they gave us the same thing we had the morning before. We do miss the pre covid atmosphere with the happy hour and breakfast with others. Over all we still love the J. Patrick House.

We had a late arrival. Winding coastal roads delayed us further getting to the hotel. We had no wifi and couldn't make contact by phone as we travelled to the hotel. When we arrived at 10pm the front door was locked and there was no-one to contact. If another guest hadn't let us in we would have had to sleep in the car. That is ridiculous. You are renting rooms and have to provide access. This issue was never clearly stated to us when we reserved. We had to leave for an early tour at Hearst castle and was told the day before that they couldn’t drop off the full breakfast we paid for earlier than between 8:30 and 9. The delivery man came close to 9 just as we were pulling out of the driveway. Breakfast should be available by 8 as in most hotels.

We spent Thursday through Sunday at the Jay Patrick house. We went up to Cambria the second weekend of December to check out the Cambria Pines Lodge Christmas lights display in festival. my first impression of the day Patrick house was, very serene. We felt like we were up in the mountains. our room was spacious, comfortable and so cute! breakfast was delivered every day in a picnic basket and they accommodated my vegan diet😀. Our room had a great refrigerator with a separate freezer. I totally loved it because I brought waters, coffee creamer and wine and was relieved the fridge could accommodate them all and more! I bought a frozen Olallieberry pie from Linn’s to serve as one of our Christmas desserts and it fit right into the freezer!! We also had a single serve coffee maker with plenty of K cups and real mugs to drink out of! Upon our arrival there was a lovely small bottle of wine and two wine glasses. Our room also had a table with seating for two. They make it so easy to get into your room, each room has a code that you enter into a keypad above the door knob, as does the front door so you feel very safe!! Our room also had a fireplace that we used all the time and a beautiful bathroom. Downstairs as you enter into the house there’s a great little common area that has all kinds of goodies including fresh baked chocolate chip cookies which my husband absolutely loved!! The location is fantastic because it is close enough to town and everything else that we wanted to do and see but far enough away that you feel like you could possibly be the only ones in the area! We had such an incredible long weekend there, we will definitely be going back!!

I would have to say that there was absolutely nothing that I didn’t love about the property, it is beautiful! However, I didn’t really like the TV set up. It was so confusing and we could never figure out how to get to where we really wanted to be .They use a service that we were completely unfamiliar with. It has a ton of options I just think we are not that tech savvy.
