When checking in the person at reception picked up a call, and didn't acknowledge our presence in the lobby for 5 minutes or a little more, Not a good start. Breakfast was poor, all highly processed foods, little / no fresh food or fruits, would expect a little more given the location.

The location was good. Close to Stanford and Palo Alto, and amenities. Hotel was clean and well maintained. The concept of refurbished motel is nice.

The staff was apathetic and had no desire to do anything beyond the bare minimum. The heat was totally off when we checked in. Room temperature was 47 degrees F. It took all night to warm up. While I understand not wasting energy, it was unpleasant to have to bundle up indoors. Breakfast was continental and consisted of mostly what looked and tasted like deconstructed fast food breakfast items.

The staff were very helpful and it was very clean.

Our room was small, dark and smelt very strongly of chemicals. We booked this hotel as a family group on the basis of the outside space which according to the pictures had a pool, seating and fire pit. This was all closed. The breakfast was help yourself to a load of over packaged and highly processed sugary rubbish. If the hotel had marketed itself as a motel and the photos had been realistic, we might have been happier.

Be aware there is no elevator or luggage carts.

Location was excellent.

The beds were not comfortable and the room smelt like they were masking something. It is an old building so maybe smoke from when it was allowed.
