Clean, beds comfy, location, parking, lighting, icemaker, refrigerator in room, AC worked fine, staff clearly work hard and care about the business and their duties, ( this is hard to find please keep, develop their skills, pay them, and keep them.) Some small improvements in customer service skills could really do wonders for repeat business. Things like "thank you" whenever possible is so important. Also asking if there are any other needs or assistance when people check in is a great thing to do. little added things like "Ok here is you room key and Wi-Fi information (explaining that as usual) now the ice maker is across the parking lot and there is a refrigerator and ice bucket in your room. The beach is very close and lots of shopping and restaurants nearby if you need any suggestions on where to go let me know" Also offering to tell guests how the beaches and parking work is great, we didn't know you have to pay to park at the beach down the street and or that the beach with parking (Tamarack) was just a minute up the road. We didnt pay the fee the first day so we might get a fine in the mail. It did not show up when I looked online, and mom can't go up and down steps. She is disabled. Other free or cheap things is to have plastic silverware in the room, offer free small cold-water bottles for travelers when they arrive, smile and be engaging, when folks check out say a little more than "ok you're good to go" Add much more like " Was your stay to your liking? We enjoyed having you with us. Thank you so much for staying with us! We appreciate your business, and we hope to see you again! We wish you a safe and quick journey onward!" These little improvements can help keep the rooms full and the prices low. I am a business major, and I have worked in hospitality and customer service for 21 years, so I hope this is of use to you. I would love to come back next year and see Scandia thriving even more!

Water pressure very low except for the sink which was too high and sprays you. drains old and need to be replaced as the shower drain could cut someone's foot. Pillows a little flat and an extra blanket or two would be great. No plastic silverware or plates. Wi-Fi did not work except for small intervals which made watching movies online, gaming, working, or studying not possible. There are people renting the rooms long-term which isn't bad except those folks are constantly outside of their rooms watching everyone and chain smoking. They argue/ yell loudly on the phone daily and due to improper insolation in the walls, every profanity and aggressive/scary thing is heard. They were also observed asking guests for rides and cigarettes. This made mom feel uncomfortable and stressed. We did not feel necessarily unsafe however it was uncomfortable and obnoxious. There was no security nor notice of surveillance. Regardless of whether or not there really is, if notices of it were posted, it would add a feeling of safety at night. I recommend posting these notices as a deterrent to mischief and to prevent issues. Vending machines did not work. Office was cluttered. Customer service was not bad but not great.

Hi I was supposed to stay here in room 130 The floor was black where you can see it needs to be mopped there are bugs flying in the bathroom and two cockroaches came out from underneath the tub it was horrible I had to sleep in my truck it is unlivable

I liked the fast check-in. The room was nice and clean. You're able to park right outside your motel room. The room had 2 queen beds, a fridge, a microwave, plenty of towels, soap, shampoo, and tolietries. The bed linen and towels were very clean. Lastly, you're given a remote when you check in to watch TV. There's cable and HBO to watch.

I didn't like the train sounding his horn throughout the night. This motel is close to train tracks.

The price you can’t beat. We have stayed at this property 2 times. The front desk couple are very friendly.
