It was such a great place. There was a lot of things to do on the property (play basketball, cornhole, fishing, swimming, ect). The only thing I would say is bring bug spray! Mosquitoes are bad! Everything else was great. We loved spending time on the deck.

We had an amazing time at this property. It was clean, beautiful, and private, while still being close to all the local amenities. We can’t wait to get back.

Couldn’t have been happier with this rental. Felt right at home and really appreciated the small touches, such as music for the piano and plenty of books/games for the kids. The views were spectacular. Host was responsive and helpful with all questions, although we certainly did not have any concerns. Would highly recommend and would gladly stay here again.

We booked this place a while back almost randomly by picking a place on the map. Turned out to be a great choice. Absolutely beautiful views from the house. The pictures were accurate and the host was great. Felt good from the moment we drove up. And it is close enough to enjoy many of the sites in SD while being far enough away to feel secluded.

Amazing property in the most beautiful setting! It was the perfect weekend to relax and the huge fenced 1 acre yard was heaven for the dogs.

Chill is an understatement. This place is absolutely gorgeous! Perfect location, beautiful house/property and wonderful views. We would have liked to enjoy the outside more, but a rare spring blizzard blew in late on day 2. Freezing cold, snowy and windy on the outside, but so warm and cozy on the inside. Made the blizzard almost as if it wasn't there. This is the perfect place to chill. Fully stocked, plenty of room and close to town.

My husband and I loved staying in this beautiful home with amazing views! We loved it so much we even stayed an extra night! Hosts were so accommodating and easy to communicate with. We would definitely stay here again!

But the fire was so delightful. Our family lives in several states so we decided to rendezvous at a location where everyone had approximately the same miles to travel. This home is not only convenient but beautiful. Although it was bitter cold we entertained ourselves playing games, watching football, breaking bread but mostly sharing love and life this Christmas. The home was clean and had most everything we needed. Plenty of room to accommodate all eleven of us. Lovely home and location. Would enjoy a return visit in the spring or summer.

We stay here when we come to the Black hills for a family reunion. Second time we have stayed on this property. Great fishing for kids on the pond out back. Beautiful lawn yard area to play in on. Well stocked kitchen. We love coming to visit wish we could spend more time on the property but most of the time we are at a family lake cabin.

We had six adults and four little ones. The sleeping accomodations worked well for our children. We ate most of our meals here and the kitchen had what we neede.

It checked every box for us.It was spacious with 5 separate sleeping rooms (the basement is technically its own bedroom suite) and plenty of beds. The house was clean and in great condition. We enjoyed the property, it has scenery, space, and privacy. Doug was awesome to work with and contact with. We are hoping to stay with him again next year.

Serene views at a well designed home! Our group thoroughly enjoyed this property! From the porch we enjoyed the beautiful views of the area and the wildlife. We enjoyed fishing at the pond and also fishing in Spearfish Canyon. This property was convenient to Deadwood, Roughlock falls, Devils Tower and hiking in Spearfish Canyon. We also enjoyed the wonderful dining recommendations of the property owner. We enjoyed the most beautiful sunrises and sunsets on the porch; it was so relaxing! We would love to stay here again!

My wife, adult children, and I had a great stay here! The house is set up in a way that provides comfortable spaces to be together, but is spacious enough to allow quiet time apart. Its location gives easy access to Spearfish and any of the attractions in the Hills/Badlands and is at the end of a private road for lots of peace and quiet at the end of the day. The host we met, Doug, was very gracious and the house is well appointed - we wanted for nothing during our stay. Would definitely stay again.

It was like a dream. My three little girls and I drove up from Denver and could not have been happier with the accommodations! We canoed and fished for hours on end and Ate dinner overlooking the gorgeous pastures. We were even greeted by a neighbor on horseback! It absolutely MADE our trip being able to bring the dogs with! We will definitely be staying again.

Very scenic and nice layout. My boys loved the fishing and my wife and I enjoyed the serenity. Lots of small details in house (games, puzzles, etc) that were a nice touch. Would highly recommend.

Our family really enjoyed our stay in this beautiful cabin. Great location. Our kids loved the pond. Wishing we could have stayed longer.

We had a fabulous time! Deck was perfect for morning coffee and evening cocktails! We spent a ton of time on the kayaks and canoe, and my father spent hours bird watching. The house is really in the perfect spot for a relaxing get away. And Doug was great to work with!

This vacation rental is unbelievably beautiful. The house and property are second to none. We had complete privacy from the world! We had everything we needed to live comfortably all week including all the necessities for cooking at home. We only ate out the last night we were there. We barely turned the tv on because we were too busy exploring the property or the black hills. We fished almost every day and the kids had a blast catching and releasing their fish. I could go on and on but it’s just too much to write down! You will not go wrong with this rental. We will definitely go back. The owner was great to work with and ensured we had everything we needed.

We rented this cabin as our hunting lodge during antelope season in western SD. This was an all-guys, family trip with dad and brothers. We could not have been happier with our choice. The location was perfect for us right off the highway between Spearfish and Belle. It was far enough off the highway that we felt very remote and secluded, while still being able to jump into either town in a matter of minutes. The property is large, open and very well kept. The wrap around deck and fire pit were used everyday and night. Inside is everything we needed including laundry! The bedrooms were great, the living areas comfy and the kitchen well appointed. We will be back for sure!

This property is great for a lot of reasons. But for us, one of the things we really liked was the location. The home is just 1 mile off the highway between Spearfish and Belle Fourche. However, the house sits at the end of the road. So while it is quick and easy to get on the highway and go anywhere in the hills, The also feels very secluded. They have an awesome covered deck and a fire pit. We used both every day.

We spent 5 nights at this property from Sept 13th to the 18th, and we hated to leave! We have rented houses before looking for a remote getaway only to find that neighbors were much too close. That was not the case here. Located at the end of a 1-mile gravel driveway, you are nestled into a spectacular valley(?) where you see distant buildings and wonderful mountain views. There was so much to love about this place. Our dogs truly enjoyed the spacious FENCED IN yard (we were not expecting that), and the pond was a delight. Stocked with bass, bluegill, crappie, perch and trout, the fishing was a lot of fun! Clear nights were amazing for star gazing, and we were even treated to a full moon rising above a ridge one night. The bedrooms were great--spacious, very comfortable beds and the HVAC system was spot-on. The downstairs suite was a special treat for one of the couples who "runs cold", but they had their own space heater which made them oh-so-happy! The kitchen is very nice--well appointed and functional. There were lots of spice options and helpful items in the cupboards. However, it does suffer from the usual rental short-falls: lack of serving wear, serving bowls, lids for pots/pans when cooking, grill utensils, etc. However, we made everything work without much trouble and enjoyed eating outside on the deck or around the fireplace. A few other notes for future visitors: the firepit is delightful, but bring your own firewood and camp chairs. There are 3 benches that surround the pit, but if you like to lean back and enjoy the fire, you will not find the log benches very comfortable. Also, there was an uncomfortable amount of bird droppings on the deck--on the rails, benches, chairs, etc. We cleaned off what we needed to, but there was a lot more that could have been done. Lastly, if you or your friends find mounted animals on the walls distasteful, you may want to brace yourself. We saw the ones in the picture online, but there were a lot more than we expected. Personally, we found them all fascinating, but not everyone in our party shared that enthusiasm. All that being said, we absolutely hated to leave. This was our 2nd trip to SD this year, and we are falling in love with the state. This place is an excellent place to just sit, relax and feel blessed to experience this wonderful part of the country!

Property was perfect for our family! Very clean and well kept! Our young kids absolutely loved playing on the big wrap around porch and in the beautiful yard. Views of the hills and distant mountains were fantastic! Very highly recommended!

This is a beautiful property. Plenty of room for the whole family. We stayed here for a family wedding which was just a quarter of a mile up the hill so the location was excellent.

Have rented houses in Spearfish for the Sturgis rally for four years. This house was the best.
