First off the staff was amazing! Very accommodating, personable and happy! We were at the tail end of a two week trip, so ended up never leaving the property as it had everything we needed, including that direct, peaceful access to the beach. The room was huge, and the bed and linens were very comfortable. The food was delicious! We wet fishing one day and the kitchen was happy to cook it up for us as soon as we arrived back at the hotel. Since we were there several days, the hotel allowed us to run an open tab which made eating, drinking, etc. easily accessible. We had never stayed in Hermosa before, but because of this hotel, we plan to return!

Location is great just with the beach meters away. Room was clean and service was pretty good as well. Good parking available. Sunsets are just amazing and you can chill in their chairs on the beach.

Food is not that cheap, it is expensive compared with the area, and not of very good quality. TV had some issues to get started. For the price I would expect at least coffee in the room but there was only water.

Wonderful beachfront location just steps away and plenty of beach chairs and lounges. Room was clean, large enough and the shower was ok with decent pressure and hot water. Beds were comfortable. If the beach gets too hot, the sitting areas and terrace were great to just relax in.

We only ate breakfast at the hotel, it was good food, a bit expensive I thought but that seems to be the case in CR at some places.

Fabulous location right on the beach and super friendly staff. Very convenient and easy stay for a couple of days just before we flew out of Costa Rica. Only 30 minutes to Liberia airport.

We were on the second of two floors and there is no elevator which was a little difficult with bags. Also, we had no water pressure for some reason and they couldn’t fix it. They said it’s a problem with the supply, so I don’t know if it’s a reoccurring issue.

Excellent location. Previous owner sold last year but it is still outstanding. Rooms seem to have a few upgrades. Lyndsey down the beach to the north gives an excellent massage on the beach. My wife and I both got one. Security is excellent as well.

The property is beachfront, easy to find with good parking. Ana and Gaby were so nice and helpful at the front desk. Janero & Luis gave us amazing service and helped with all our requests. The beds and pillows were comfy. The air conditioning worked great. This was our first stop in Costa Rica. We highly recommend.

We were extremely happy with the hotel. It's located directly on the beach and the beach is amazing. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful. The rooms are large, air conditioned and clean. The restaurant onsite offers theme nights, we were there for taco Tuesday. The tacos were fresh and very good. Their non-alcoholic drinks were delicious. Given the excellent location, we found the price to be very reasonable. Great parking. We would definitely stay at this hotel again.

Easy to find, clean and comfortable room, friendly staff. Right on the beach.

Location was absolutely perfect! On the beach with nice chairs and hammocks, and towels for relaxing. There's a fun walking promenade in the shade of the trees at the edge of the beach all up and down Playa Hermosa. Never ventured into town, I was just looking for rest and relaxation which I found. Beach had a very local feel to it with many families out enjoying the weekend. Only had breakfast which was adequate. I found Roberto's 2 doors door to have incredible food for lunch and dinner. El Velero is an older hotel that they have maintained nicely. Hot water with good pressure for showers. Rooms were spacious and I liked the 2nd floor rooms with the tall ceilings and fans. What could have made rooms nicer were windows that could open for fresh air, but rooms did have AC. Basic, but had everything I needed!

Staff very friendly but front desk was NOT at all helpful in advise for traveling off premises to go on adventures or see other parts of Costa Rica that were nearby. Would be nice if they had some association with a company that offered side trips.

Location, staff, rooms and general vibes are great. This is a fabulous, friendly little boutique hotel right on the water with good food, beach chairs and hammocks. It would be a great place for extended stays as well as just a few.

Vendors are a little pushy but still very accommodating and friendly for non buyers. Shower could use shelves, some hooks for wet suits... and better toilet paper would be awesome.

We chose this hotel for the location right on the beach as well as the good restaurant reviews and it did not disappoint! But the best part was the wonderful staff who were always smiling and were so friendly and helpful.

The rooms are large with lots of good storage but they are older and could use a reno, especially the bathrooms. We were told that renos are already started so they are on this. The floors in the hallways and public areas are very slippery so be careful when walking with smooth soled shoes.

The property was small, and directly on the beach! No need to go anywhere! Loved that they had the pool, because there were definitely some prickly things all in the water while we were there.

There were no real beach chairs. They had some chairs, but they weren’t the best for hanging on the beach.
