IT is really in the nature. In the wild.
Room too small. No chairs inside. No table inside. Nowhere to put your stuff. No place for toiletries. No kettle no mini fridge. No place to hang your towels. Outside tree was full of fire ants nests. No nets in the room. Mattress way too soft. Only bedsheet in the bed. So when you turn in AC it’s too cold you don’t have anything to cover yourself.
Road to the property was very bad. I thought we were gonna roll over with the suv. Food for dinner was ok but no options. Fried calamari, soup, bbq meat and fried noodles. Icecream for dessert. We had to leave the dinner area as soon as we ate. We couldn’t stay at the table and enjoy our drinks as manager was standing next to our table waiting for us to finish them.
Manager was very nice but we got the impression we are guests on his property.
We didn’t stay long enough to see any wildlife except cows and insects and some stray dogs.

This place is really out in the bush, very remote location. It is pretty special in that respect as you are really quite far from anyone and anything, but for us it was slightly too remote. We loved the tree houses - they are super comfortable - and the staff particularly krishna are so kind and helpful. Food was good and it was really special being away from other humans. Incredible being in the bush amongst the animals though!
Slightly too remote for us. We couldnt leave and we usually like to explore a bit.
It was expensive.

- very very friendly staff, they’re the reason the place is good
- the hotel manager & a person called “baba” were very nice & attentive. We forgot one bag there, they called me & delivered it to us in our other hotel, which we’re very thankful for
- unfortunately the rooms were not like the pictures
- we left the hotel before our checkout because the rooms didnt feel safe enough with regards to access of insects & such to the room., there are like cracks in the wood. The glamping tent had holes in the floor which made it seem very accessible to insects & lizards, thats why we stayed for one night only even though our booking was for 2 nights. The staff though were very very friendly & prepared a bbq dinner for us , but it was difficult to stay there knowing that the rooms were very accessible by insects & lizards. (We found 2 lizards, one in each room)
- the blankets were very very light, they’re more of bed sheets than blankets
- the shower box was a bit disappointing, didnt feel clean

Truly one of the highlights of our trip through Sri Lanka ... our tree hut had amazing views of the surrounding area and very near water hole; make sure to get up early to see local wildlife seek refreshment. The level of hospitality is very high and the team delivers an extraordinary food experience for both breakfast and dinner; multiple servings in a beautiful, authentic location.
No wifi service but you're in the middle of a national park ... look up and be amazed !!

Room quite as it eas in pictures but still very good with good view. We saw deers and buffalos in the pond.
Bbq was very good. Highly recomend staying.
Small improvements needed to fresh things up, but nothing that would change the good experience.

extraordinary friendly Service!
The only activity to do is the Safari. So the perfect duration for the stay is one night.

Unique experience in close proximity to Ayala national park. Glamping at its best. Incredible staff effort to bring luxury to a tranquil setting in a true wildlife surrounding.
Everything was great. Of course you need to be prepared for animals - big and small - around you but it’s safe and clean and exactly what you should want when looking for a place like this.

friendly staff, safari was great
room was not clean and very old fashioned, food was a disappointment, 240$ a night excl. the safari, sorry to say but absolutely not worth the money.

Living in a tree house was a new and unique experience. The house had all the facilities for comfortable stay.
The hot water in the shower was unreliable. However, the staff was active in solving the issue. It is a fairly long drive to the gate of the national park, it may look misleading on the map. In reality, it takes about 30 minutes to get to the gate, which makes a difference in an early morning.

It is hard to write a poor review as the staff on the ground really were great, the beach bbq dinner was an amazing experience we wont forget. Anything we asked the staff accomodated such as finding us a bottle of champagne. We were also told that because of the fuel crisis that the staff hoard their daily fuel allowances to save up enough to run the generator overnight to power the camp on the days guests are there.
Super overpriced, the rooms are a far cry from what is displayed in the photos. I am more than happy with the idea of glamping or roughing it but you cannot charge 10x the price of anything else in the area and deliver an underperforming result. The standard of cleanliness was not acceptable regardless of any other factors.
Rather than complaining, some suggestions:
- Clean or replace the plastic windows in the rooms so that guests can actually see out of them
- Run the shower for a few minutes in the rooms you know guests will be using, rather than explaining that an awful smell will come out for the first few minutes to guests, just do it before they arrive.
- Put the aircon on for guests before they arrive so the room is not a furnace, including when they come back from safari in the middle of the day and there is no where to go to escape the heat.
- Send the support vehicle for the bbq dinner ahead of guests so that we arrive to the table set up/ or communicate with guests what is happening, when we arrived on the beach no one said anything to us for 10+ minutes
- In the same way Safari guides should constantly communicate with guests, a lot of the time we were sat in the back of the truck wondering what was going on. Use your knowlege to explain what we are looking for, why we are sat in this spot, make it interesting and engaging.
- The reception clearly doesn't work well enough to do card payments at the office so have a bank transfer or some other method, I have seen other poor reviews of people standing in the sun and the flies trying to pay and we had the same experience, we were only 2usd short of having the right amount of cash to pay for the bottle of champagne and it just left a really sour end to the whole experience.

A unique glamping experience in the jungle. This is our second visit. This time we visited after the renovation of the property. Property is in very good condition now. Absolutely enjoyed everything there.

the tree house stay was an amazing and unique experience. the room was up two flights of stairs so the views at sunset were spectacular.
we were the only guests so had the luxury of a private bbq dinner - very special
inside the tree house the rooms are fairly small and facilities are quite basic.
I would recommend arranging transport with the hotel. it’s very hard to find the Leopards Nest and the road is only suitable for 4x4
it’s very expensive so we only stayed for one night but a unique stay!

If you really want to try adventurous glamping, this is a heaven for you. Our stay was very much memorable. We saw almost every animal in the park including the leopard. Staff did their very best to make our stay even better. The BBQ under the stars was so romantic with lanterns and fire torches. The restaurant was amazing to taste a glass of wine. The jungle surrounding brought us the real thrills in the night and the bird songs in the morning was so exciting. The overall experience was over the moon.

We booked this wonderful place as my friends recommended. The stay was lovely. Staff went out of their way to make our stay a memorable one. Their tents and cabins are totally unique. The BBQ dinner in the jungle with lanterns was so amazing. Safari was excellent too. We saw more animals including the leopard. We are really thankful to our friends for recommending this wonderful glamping experience in the jungle for us.

We had a great experience at leopard nest . It was an unforgettable night . We stayed inside the jungle . Me and my partner have never had such a unique experience before . Another remarkable thing was BBQ night. It was amazing. We had our dinner at an outdoor location with lanterns under the stars . I should mention that they had well planned our safaris . Both evening and morning . After the morning safari they prepared a lakeside breakfast for both of us . We had our brekfast in the lake . They had arranged breakfast table in the lake. we were able to enjoy our breakfast closer to nature .
So finaly it was amazing experience for us . Thank you Leopard Nest .

Would not spend more than $100/night all inclusive.
Recommend to stay in a hotel and get a driver to take you to safari during the day. It will be half the price and 5 x the service and comfort of stay.
Staff were great, went out of their way to make our experience memorable.
The bbq and food was good.
The location is in the middle of the jungle for a camping experience.
Alcohol selection not bad and plentiful.
Friendly and accommodating staff and owner (when we left the safari after half a day he called round local hotels to see where we could pay to use the pool). We could not spend a whole day on safari that’s how terrible it was!
Place has generator so no power cuts.
Dinner in the woods was lovely with lovely bbq and romantic setting.
-no air con in restaurant / bar area. Sweat fest and full of mosquitos
-the safari is terrible. Not even a proper road. If you’ve done safari anywhere else you will not like this.
-this is not a glamping experience this is camping.
-we did not have running water in our tent. The tent was not glamorous. It’s old and dirty. We didn’t even have a bin in the room and had to brush our teeth with drinking water!
-the towels we got were dirty.
-wifi only works at the bar and is very weak (good to disconnect if you don’t want the internet)
-lots of bugs in the room we got eaten alive and we had to take a shower with huge spiders and other insects (expected in camping not glamping).
-no hot water in the shower. No amenities in the bathroom. Didn’t even get soap.
-shower is outdoor and has lots of living things (if you don’t mind this).
-overall reception and “restaurant” area are not “glamping” it is more camping.
-no entertainment / no bar only one restaurant area
In all honesty, we were and still are disgusted with the cost. It’s a complete rip off and we wish we had paid more attention to the reviews. The price being charged is insane.

Set in rural location & fairly close to Yala National Park. Staff were pleasant. Our safaris were very good, with knowledgable driver/guide.
Liked the setting of the BBQ on the beach & lantern lit dinner in camp, the food was plentiful, but very largely consisted meat. Bed was comfy
On the full day safari, the packed breakfast (egg sandwich, chocolate cake & an orange) was a bit disappointing with too much plastic packaging but the lunch (rice, chicken curry, dahl,& veg, & watermelon) was good & folding chairs & table were provided.
We got scratched by thorny branches when driving down the access road to & from the camp-v. painful. On arrival in camp we received a lukewarm welcome & immediate request for payment of full amount.
Access to the 'tents' is along unmarked dirt paths, confusing when you first arrive & not easy (& a little scary) to find your way back to your tent in the dark-take a torch.
Accommodation is described as 'luxury', it is not, it is basic and seems rather rundown. No bottle water in room, only a dribble of water from the ensuite basin. The light in the outside shower (ours was accessed in a structure outside the 'tent') didn't work & as we arrived back late after safari and beach BBQ, had to shower in the dark, however plenty of water in the shower.
We had 2 x 4.45am starts & the eve before requested coffee in the morning. None of the 2 (or could have been 3 staff) were up, so took over 20 mins until it arrived , by which time we were late leaving for start of safari. Perhaps a kettle, cups & tea & coffee could be made available so guests could make it themselves.
We were glad we did a whole day safari, not sure what we would have done if we had stayed in camp during the day. The reception area is not particularly comfy to be spend time in, only 1 chair provided on the deck area by the tent with no view, just very close thick, thorny scrub.

Do NOT stay here. It’s overpriced, unhygienic and not safe. Price and photos are misleading as it is not luxurious accomodation. Do not support a corrupt cause that rips off tourists.
Showers were mouldy, room door didn’t lock, treehouse unstable and squeaky with rope and metal not secure, bed was not made when arrived, stained pillows, shirtless men cooking in kitchen, stray animals in eating area, area was just an open shed with no other amenities, very remote and inaccessible without a FWD meaning we couldn’t leave without their permission, staff were completely unreasonable and did not listen when we complained. It would be fine if this was priced accordingly, US$150 max, but it’s just not worth US$550 a night!
We had low expectations as friends stayed the night before and said how bad it was - they were taken to a dump to see elephants as they missed the afternoon safari. We tried to cancel early and even the night before we arrived, the hotel threatened to charge us the full amount so we decided to check out the place.
It was terrible once we arrived, and we decided to leave early by paying for what we had eaten and the afternoon safari (less than US$100). They refused to let us leave without paying the full amount and we could not get a transfer out without their FWD. 10 men were standing next to us, being completely intimidating and telling us they would call the police if we didn’t pay. Owner was abusive - he called our driver who told us that they would follow us to get money out of an ATM if we didn’t pay. We settled by paying US$360 (still outrageously overpriced) to not get chased by these guys.
There are so many other nice places in Yala that are more luxurious for a third of the price so please do not stay here!
7.0 / 10.0
not what the pictures tell you, yes it is in the forest, but the rooms and the location is not as romantic and well maintained as the pictures tell.
the price value - we paid over 1000€ for two nights, which is incredibly expensive considering the facilities and also compared to other locations in the region.
3.0 / 10.0
The lunch was good, we saw a leopard during safari and there was a bbq on the beach in the evening - which was a stunning place.
The organisation was chaotiic and the staff very unflexible. It started with a meeting point for our driver and the jeep from the park in the middle of nowhere, where they asked us to wait for 1 1/2 hours in the burning sun. We suggested a restaurant 400m down the street as a meeting point but that was not possible and they changed the pick up time almost every 20 minutes. The treehouse had a termitehome with lots of different creatures, coloured (probably poisonous) frogs and spiders - on the bed and around. let‘s not talk about the „bathroom“ - we talked to a couple sleeping in the tent - they said: „ok for one night“ - whatever that means. we did the evening safari, saw a leopard - but the driver didn‘t bring binoculars - so we borrowed some from a better organised safari team … not just because of the disgusting surrounding but especially because of danger for our lives we decided not to stay the night and skip the safari in the morning - we didn‘t get a refund - but when getting our bags from the treehouse to move out three guys with guns and flashlights came with us and we heard 3 gunshots real close - but of course it is not dangerous and very close to nature 😂🙄

Beautiful place, peaceful location, treehouse was an absolute experience for us, good service and friendly staff
We saw spiders, bats and lizards inside the accommodation which made us feel a bit uncomfortable but the staff was very helpful here too.

As South Africans we were looking for a bush experience here in SL with the hope of spotting as much wildlife as possible in 2 days. Dinusha, Romesh and the team over-delivered. Our tree-house experience was unique and the food delish! Thanks again guys.
More recommendations than dislikes: more information about your comprehensive and impressive all inclusive package, a light in the toilet, a proper and quieter a/c, better road signage and entry road.
5.0 / 10.0
The concept was good but the execution wasn’t
I was expecting an actual “glamping” experience but it wasn’t really as glamorous as I had hope it would be. There’s no wi-fi in the rooms and they’re all very far away from each other. Showers are outdoors which was a bit weird… I guess if you’re looking for a complete disconnect from the outside world then it could be enjoyable, but wouldn’t recommend if you’re in a group.
