The property was very clean and well equipped- small but had everything you needed including a usable kitchen. Bathroom looked pretty new too and finally, a hotel with a sidelight next to the bed! It was very quiet so we slept well. Peaceful surroundings. Quiet air con. The view from the balcony is also very beautiful- it must be one of the highest points of the island. Hotel manager changed our towels and bed sheets every couple of days. Fast WiFi. Ice cold water filter at reception which was great, normally they’re lukewarm.

The property is about 25 mins walk from the main area in Malapascua, where the boats come in. While this meant the property was nice and quiet - which we were grateful for after 2 months in Asia! - it made going to and from the main area with restaurants etc a bit of a slog. Past reviews suggested the hotel did scooter rental but this wasn’t the case, and there’s no way to call a scooter from the town to pick you up, which might be a service worth offering.

We enjoyed our stay at Chavina-Joy. Both the owner and the caretaker were very friendly and helpful which is a huge plus. We felt welcome. The room was clean. Even though the accommodation is located in the middle of the island, it was an easy 20min walk to the South coast where our dive school was. We were fine to walk and explore the island.

There is a kitchen with a fridge, it's really clean, they have cold water available for free as well, it's quite, remote location but just 15 minutes walking from the "center",.. it's a perfect place really.

Very cosy room, well maintained, with all the necessities present. The place is very clean and the staff is helpfull as well. Price quality is good, and we loved staying here. Would definitely reccomend this place!

Its a little bit further from the main beach, but you can easily walk it or take a ride on one of their motorcycles.

A bit hot inside. I was sleeping with open door and window, with fan on but still...hot. The internet didnt work at all. I had to go to the nearby resort to get connected. This might be a bit problem for people who are working along the way. Neighbours also play very loud music from early morning. Not long but a bit early.
