This is China, and it’s out in the country. My expectations were very basic, considering the price. Everything exceeded my expectations. The room was comfortable and clean. The staff was warm and friendly and spoke some English. The coffee house / bar was beautiful, modern, comfortable and had spectacular views. My wife had her latte and they beer / liquor selection was pretty solid. The restaurant was also clean, comfortable and the food was delicious. Private flush toilets and showers were great. I took a shower right after checkin on a rainy day and couldn’t get hot water, but assume it was the circumstances. We had a fantastic stay.

The view is spectacular and it’s a nice stopping point after hiking the 28 bends.

There was construction being done in the viewing platform, which made relaxing very difficult - noise, sawdust, not set up for comfortable relaxation. I also stayed in the mixed dormitory, but would not recommend it. There’s no privacy and the bathroom option is the outhouse.

Our breakfast was wonderful! Banana porridge and banana honey and walnut pancakes, so good. Loved the Tibetan beer on the terrace and the incredible views. Felt very warm and cozy in our room and the hot water was the best I have experienced in China. I was given some extra help as I had sprained my ankle and was not able to walk the trail. So I was given help to organize a mule to take me along the trail. It was incredible to see those amazing views on horseback (muleback). We didn’t have to worry about our the transferring of our luggage to the next destination. Everything was taken care of so we could arrive at each destination ready for the next step. Such a wonderful experience!

Due to weather conditions, I had to cancel my stay. however, the staff found me a guide to hike the gorge as I am a solo traveler. When the weather improves, I will definitely stay at the Tea Horse.

The host is very kind and the rooms are clean with a beautiful view. In such a remote mountain place I couldn’t expect better.

Pitstop between Lijiang-Shangrila. Few more on the way. Basic accommodation, view is nice from big balcony above restaurant. Food is good and affordable. Small parking lot outside.

Don't go with your car. Road is horrible. I broken my front bumper on the way. Hot water could disappear during showering. Prepare for noisy mornings if you are in A building. Wifi is not working most of the time.

I think this is the best location on the entire trail and a perfect distance from the start of the trail. Halfway GH is way more than half-way; this is the true half-way point. The food is good, and the huge terrace upstairs has a wonderful full view of the mountains. This was my fourth time staying here and I will always choose this GH when I hike the gorge.

They were very busy as it was summertime and they didn’t do a great job of managing all of the demands of the customers. some were very pushy and they let these folks dominate their time. Meanwhile you might wait 20 minutes to have someone come and take your order.

The room was a bit cold, with no heating except the heated blankets, bring warm pjs for cold weather.

Very clean room with comfortable bed, slippers, reading lamp, heating in the bed and socket next to it. Great view to the Gorge. Nice owner who speaks English and makes great food. The restaurant at the guest house is very good.

Amazing view from balcony. Stunning. Cold beer. Good food. Very nice staff. They even put our left over food in the fridge and warmed it up for us the next morning for breakfast. Now that's accommodating! Thank you for the great stay and experience!

I already knew the property since various friends already been there. It is the best place to stay after the first part of the TLG hike, which is not easy. The staff is super kind, food is great, the location is absolutely gorgeous with a great view of the mountains. The staff the next day also provide free bottle of water for the hikers that continue the hiking to the arrival point. Well suggested to stay here and have a nice rest

Amazing location! Views were perfect. This guest house is actually more “half-way” than the other guest house by that name. Especially after the 28 bends we were happy to find a place that was no too far. The hike down to the road was just 3 1/2 hours, so staying here was perfect. Their terrace is also wonderful and had a spectacular view. The food was also very good and healthy with so many options (even a Korean menu so we had kimchi with dinner).

Amazing views, a really nice vibe to the Inn, food was plentiful and tasty, our room was simple but very clean and functional. Really enjoyed our 1 night stay here after a long day of trekking.

Nothing - a small comment that as it was a national holiday, it got busy at the restaurant, however staff handled the volume of food/drink orders well.

The views were spectacular. It was simple and clean - the food was delicious. It was peaceful. I spent an extra night and just read, did yoga and looked at the mountains! It was perfect. Would definitely go back. All the staff were so kind and helpful. Thank you for a wonderful stay!
