Very large villa on one level. Bit of a journey to locate.

We, a family of four people, have checked out today after 11 days in the house. I already miss it. The house has such a character, it is a feel good house. The patio is lovely, to sit there with the fantastic view is a good memory from the holiday. The interior is also excellent, all the rooms are nice and spatious. The kitchen has everything. The owners provides genuin local information about what to do in the surroundings, also got good information from the owners by mail. Thanks for a nice stay in your beautiful house. / Anita Lindgren

This villa has the most amazing views. The property was lovely. It was clean and spacious. Very easy to deal with Melanie who ensured we got our keys in Canada before we left on this trip. Frigliana is a wonderful town with many nice restaurants and little stores. We would love to come back again.

That cottage was well situated with superb views. The pool was excellent. Unfortunately there were a lot of ants in the kitchen area but keeping everything cleaned away immediately and some strategic ant powder made it bearable. You also need to accept they were there first!. Overall a very enjoyable holiday made special by the lovely cottage. Would recommend every time, a great place to stay.

The house was exactly as described, larger than the photos suggest and felt very open and airy. It was perfectly clean and everyone said how comfortable the beds were. We were a party of 7 celebrating my birthday, afraid we didn't eat out as we were having such a wonderful rest at the property, helped by the peace and quiet. There is a wonderful forest setting behind and so many birds singing then stunning views to the coast in front. All we really did was enjoy being together, lots of BBQ's, swimming and chilling. Just what we needed. Would recommend to anyone who wants a similar holiday - also really good value for money. Note.... directions are good, but don't make my mistake. There was a commotion going on outside the Venta restaurant so I missed my turn to the property, and continued on until I found what turned out to be a second, but named Cortijo Venta restaurant! If you get that far turn back. Many thanks again, we had a wonderful holiday.

A lovely property ,just as described.It's really well maintained ,private and in a great location less than 10 minutes drive to Frigiliana ( you do need a car ) with fantastic views. Any queries were dealt with really quickly by the owners.

Wow! That is the first thing you say as you drive through the gates of the Villa, (More on the drive later). The view from the villa are breath taking and 360 panoramic of the mountains and valleys right out to the ocean as far as Nerja. The villa has everything you could need for a home from home and the details and local information left by the owners is very good. Frigliana is a beautiful village with lovely restaurants hidden away down side streets. You absolutely need a vehicle as the villa is set in the mountain which adds to the whole setting. The drive is very winding but also has amazing views, but does require a lot of concentration on the first few times. We either stayed in the villa of an evening or used the local taxi service which again was useful information that had been left for us. Nerja is a cab ride away if you wanted something a bit busier, which we did visit, but where always drawn back to the villa . I suppose that the measure of a good holiday is "would you go back again?" And on this occasion we would 100% go back. It was everything we imagined and more for the type of holiday we wanted. Thank you.

All in all, probably the best family holiday home we have stayed in. Three generations stayed in the house in Mid-July 2017 and could not have been more pleased with the property. Both the location of the house and the town of Frigiliana are stunning and the house does not disappoint. It is spotlessly clean, very well equipped and has more than enough room for an extended family of 8, including Grandma and two grandchildren. Would recommend to everyone.The service provided by Justin and Melanie is excellent and they are really easy to deal with, everything worked smoothly.

Me and my family stayed here for the second time, we were lucky as the weather was lovely all week. We weren't brave enough to use the pool but it looked lovely and clean. The house is very spacious inside , we noticed the new kitchen and lounge which were very well done, there were 7 of us and we could easily accommodated a few more. The views from both terraces really are superb, the location is very peaceful and quiet. We can recommend this villa.

We had a wonderful week in this villa. There are stunning views from all sides of the property and you wake each morning to the sound of bird song: not traffic noise. The beautiful town of Frigiliana is a short journey away as is the beach. The villa itself is well equipped with a good pool and generous kitchen. You can sit in bed and admire the views or sit in the sun with a book. Heaven.

Thoroughly enjoyable week at Cortijo SIlos,Frigiliana ,very quiet peaceful and great location high above the village with great views over to Nerja.The villa was extremely comfortable with great outdoor seating areas which were all well used during the week with the great weather.Some of the outside furniture is in need of replacing particularly the some of the sun loungers but this did not detract from us having a great week. The availability of WIFI was also of course very useful although signals were unreliable in areas away from the main lounge ! The village of Frigiliana is absolutely lovely with many great bars and restaurants to enjoy and we can recommend Nueva Tahone , El Boquetillo and Balcon de Frigiliana all of which offered excellent food and drink with good atmospheres. Communications with Melanie and Justin prior to our arrival were great and villa directions and access were all made very easy so would thoroughly recommend to potential visitors. We look forward to visiting the area again hopefully in the not too distant future.

Just returned from 10 nights in villa Cortijo Silos, all three generations of our family had a fabulous holiday. The villa is in a remote location, therefore is beautifully quiet. The views are fabulous, we loved having breakfast on the patio as the sun warmed up and having a few beers in the evening with the BBQ going as the sun went down. It's the perfect setting for just chilling out, chatting and laughing. The villa rooms were all tastefully decorated, a really good size and very well equipped. When we stayed it was unseasonably warm for September at 32 degrees, at no point did we feel uncomfortably hot in the villa, every room had a fan. We contacted the owners twice whilst we were on holiday, once to ask if there was a spare set of keys anywhere and the other regarding a new gas bottle - Melanie arranged to get us keys cut and sorted the gas bottle the following day, she couldn't have been more helpful. Frigliana is such a fabulous place to visit, we love the mix of the generations in the old village, the views at the top of the village and the mix of restaurants. This time round we loved 'The Garden' restaurant. We had such a wonderful holiday and I'm sure we will return to the villa when our children are a bit older.

I again visited Cortijo Silos in June 2014 and yet again more improvements have been made to the villa. The location is perfect and yes, I will be booking again. I go with group of friends and continue to have the best times. Justin has updated the villa to a very high standard, but keeping the character of the old farm house. I have been both in the height of summer and even December on one occasion. I dont believe I ever felt the need for AC in the summer or heating in the winter. I am looking forward to booking again, for a revisit later in the summer. Thanks again Justin for another fabulous holiday.

I have to agree with previous reviews. The house is nicely renovated and has beautiful views of the mountains and sea. Beds are comfortable and have good mattresses. What's needed during the summers are AC units in the bedrooms. When returning from dinner, temperatures are 30 degrees plus in the rooms as all bedrooms are facing west and get full afternoon sun. There is also no dishwasher so everything has to be hand washed. We never found any mountain bikes as mentioned on the website?

'Let's all go on holiday together' I said to my four adult children and partners- recipe for a great holiday, or ...who could say, but all were really keen to have a family break away from our busy lives. Anyway, from the moment we arrived at the villa until I reluctantly locked up and left we all had a fab time. Spacious, comfortable and a lovely pool, pretty walks and of course the town of Frigiliana not far down the hillside. The views around the villa are wonderful, the terraces front and back provided plenty of different spaces for us all and the barbeque was great. I would definately recommend a stay at the villa if you are looking for a rural location just a short drive from a great choice of lovely beaches.

My family and I have just returned from another wonderfully relaxing holiday at Cortijo Silos. The only downside was that our week really wasn't long enough! To spend your days beside the pool,the sun beating down,looking at the spectacular views from the terrace: who could ask for more? With the addition of wifi and the up-dated bathrooms, the villa was even more lovely than we remembered it. We had hired a car to get us to the village and down to the beach but it was little used as we really were more than happy to while away our days within the walls of this beautiful house. Justin has happily replied to my copious amounts of emails and has ensured that the villa, the pool and the gardens are clean and well looked after. We will,with luck, return again next year and would definitely recommend others to visit too!

I would totally recommend this villa. It was probably the best family holiday we've ever had. The villa is absolutely spot on – beautiful building, great size, great facilities and a brilliant location – very quiet and the views are stunning. Absolutely what we were looking for.

We had a wonderful relaxing stay at Cortijo Silos, it has fantastic views both Front and Rear, the surrounding area is peaceful and relaxing, if you want to get away from it all this is the place to come. Villa was spotlessly clean inside and out and had everything we needed apart from a dishwasher which would have been welcome. It's the first villa we've stayed at with free Wi-Fi which we made good use of and will be on our requirements list in the future. It is situated up in the hills about 20 min drive from Nerja in a very secluded area which may not suit everyone but was perfect for us.
