The unit is quaint. Good location to great restaurants and the sea. We enjoyed our stay.

The property was as described and was the perfect location for our 8 days in the Algarve. The there are plenty of beaches nearby and many restaurants to choose from. The kitchen has everything needed to prepare a meal at home, which we did, just for a change of pace. Loved the view from the upper deck and used this space to do my morning yoga as well as a cool location for an after dinner beverage. Communication with Marc was quick and efficient. There are stairs to maneuver daily, but it was not a problem for us. We also appreciated the washer/dryer. Interesting parking arrangement, which was new to us, but not uncommon in Portugal to park in a public lot a few blocks from home. We would highly recommend this accommodation.

Das Haus liegt zentral in der Altstadt und alles ist fußläufig zu erreichen. Wer motorisiert unterwegs sein möchte ,sollte beachten ,dass Parkplätze im Zentrum knapp sind, Scooter sind eine gute Alternative zum Auto. Ansonsten haben wir im Haus alles vorgefunden, was man benötigt, selbst wenn etwas fehlen sollte ,helfen die Vermieter Uta und Marc blitzschnell weiter. Unser Highlight war die Dachterrasse. Der Windschutz schützt vor den abendlichen Winden und man kann den Urlaub voll genießen. Wir können das Haus / die Vermieter aus voller Überzeugung weiterempfehlen.

Das Haus ist nicht nur schön eingerichtet, sondern auch praktisch. Die Küche ist gut ausgerüstet, es gab sogar Gewürze, Öl und Müllsäcke etc. Wir konnten das Auto problemlos vor der Stadtmauer auf dem großen kostenfreien Parkplatz parken - ca. 300 Meter Fußweg. Schöne Dachterrasse. Als es kalt war, half die Heizung weiter. Wir kommen gern wieder.

Nous avons passé deux semaines très agréables à la Casa Amendoeira. L'appartement est tout à fait conforme à la description, tout près du centre de la ville historique. L'hôte est très réactif et disposé à régler le moindre problème. Le chauffage est un vrai plus pour les matinées un peu fraîches de novembre. L'appartement est très bien équipé. Attention néanmoins aux nombreux escaliers... Lagos est idéalement située pour rayonner en Algarve et randonner sur la côte vicentine.

The house is absolutely charming and in the best location in the historic district. In the center of everything but also very quiet at night. The owners have thought of everything you could need to effectively use the kitchen for meal preparation. Be aware that as the listing states, there are several flights of stairs. The dining area and living room is one level up from the kitchen but we did not find this to be a problem. This is the cleanest rental we have had the pleasure to stay in and thoroughly enjoyed our 20 days in February.

Die liebevoll eingerichtete Wohnung ließ keine Wünsche offen. Besonders angetan waren wir von der Dachterrasse, auf der wir abends bei einem Glas Wein unter Sternenhimmel den Tag ausklingen lassen konnten...Die Lage ist genial - in der Altstadt, alles fußläufig erreichbar und trotzdem relativ ruhig...Wir waren begeistert!

We had an excellent holiday in Lagos which was hugely enhanced by the beautiful house we stayed in. It really was a home away from home. The location was perfect to reach everything on foot, and the house was very well equipped and clean. We loved every moment of our stay here. Thank you

Our trip to Lagos exceeded all our expectations. Uta and Marc have made Casa Amendoeira a home away from home. We were just minutes from everything in the city center, but if we decided to stay "at home," we were just steps from a magnificent view via our rooftop terrace. If we had any questions or concerns, Ana addressed each one as quickly as possible. We loved the easy access to the beaches and hiking the trails along the cliffs to the lighthouse. The wonderful park just outside the old city wall was also a favorite place to walk or relax in the sun and picnic. We are already in the planning stages for a return trip in 2020. I can hardly wait! --J&N

We loved this traditional house in the old town. Very spacious. Everything you could possibly want. Stairs were not a problem for us but bare them in mind. Loved the roof terrace with amazing views and made use of the bbq on quite a few evenings. A light on the roof would have been good as it gets dark early this time of year and it was a little difficult to see what we were cooking. Didn’t stop us using it though. Being right in the old town was a bonus as previously we have stayed on the outskirts and relied on buses and don’t run very late. We loved being able to walk to action. Having said that, the house is tucked far enough away so as not to be troubled by revellers. Comfy bed, good hairdryer (very important for us ladies), good citrus juicer and very well equipped kitchen. Good communication with the owners. A lot of very useful information about the house and it’s little quirks. Thank you Uta & Marc. We had a superb stay.

The house had all things needed by our family, but the star attraction was the roof terrace and the amazing views that could be seen from here. The view of the rooftop is so breathtaking... homemade breakfast there feels like in heaven. The days we were to lazy to make breakfast, we visited one of the hundreds of nice stylish bars in the neigbourhood who provide excellent healthy and cheap breakfast. Lagos is a city you have to love... all the nice bars, and for me als a hobbie barista, all the coffee bars (perfect espresso 65 euro cent!!) Pastel de nata for nothing.. The harbour, the shopping places, restaurants, it actually feels like heaven to be in this place. Beaches in 10 minutes food walk, quite surrounding around the casa, but 3 minutes to the center of everything. Like I said on top.. The location couldn´t be better... See you next time for sure to another holiday what feels like you visit a friends house.. We still dream of our nice 2 weeks in paradies. Please don´t change anything because it just could get worse. Casa Amendoeira has just the right touch of old world charm and modern amenities. Nicely decorated, nicely equipped and within walking distance of Everything in central Lagos.

My husband and I recently returned from our stay in Lagos, Portugal. We can highly recommend Casa Amandoeira. The house has been beautifully renovated and lovingly decorated. The beds are of high quality and super comfortable. The kitchen is extremely well equipped for cooking complete meals. The house is very well located both within the city and within Portugal. It is part of the historic centre very close to many restaurants and an easy, pleasant walk to the waterfront, fish market and small supermarket. You can walk to beautiful beaches right in the city. With a car, there are easy drives to the West coast for wind blown Sagres vistas and more beautiful beaches. The owners, Uta and Marc, are very approachable and helpful with any questions. There is a local property manager, Ana, who is ready to help for any immediate needs that could arise. I will echo what some previous reviewers mentioned- there are a lot of stairs. The kitchen is located on the first level you walk up to from the street- with the bedrooms and the bathroom. The living room and dining room are on a separate floor, so you need to carry your dishes up and down a flight of stairs. We got used to this but if there are any mobility issues, it is something to consider. The rooftop terrace has spectacular views over the city centre and to the waterfront. It is truly a wonderful urban gem in a really fun city. Enjoy!

We stayed at Uta and Marc’s four-level apartment during the month of February. The location is fantastic; you can walk to everything (beaches, cliffs, shopping, bus and train stations). The weather was cooler and cloudier than usual so we didn’t get to enjoy the rooftop patio very much but the view is lovely. The kitchen is well-equipped especially with quality butcher knives. The owners provide a comprehensive guide to the unit and Lagos in general. There is a local property manager you can contact if you have issues or questions. A challenge (for some people) would be the stairs you need to climb. The eating/sitting area is one floor above the main floor, which is one floor above street level. The stairs to the rooftop bbq and table are quite steep and narrow. This was our first visit to the Algarve and we found Lagos to be an enchanting town filled with friendly people … both the locals and visitors.

We totally enjoyed our three week stay here. Every detail was exactly as promised online. The home is decorated fabulously and its location makes for excellent access to all things in downtown Lagos. We felt very comfortable here and the local caretaker was very helpful. Had some trouble with Wi-Fi connection the first couple days (it got knocked out with a bad rain/wind storm) but she sent good help right away and I was up and running in no time at all again. We were there at the end of the height of tourist season so crowds were diminishing with each passing week but we enjoyed that fact very much and were still fortunate to have sunny and warm weather for most of our days. I highly recommend this property and would love to return there again someday myself.

We have just spent a fabulous week in Lagos staying in this lovely house. It is just minutes away from all amenities-bars, shops, restaurants, beaches, marina. Couldn't be better placed. It has all the equipment you could need and all information you might need. The roof terrace is a bonus. We used it quite a lot to get a bit of breeze. The temperatures were in the mid 30's for our stay, so it was very welcome. Travelled to Carvalhal beach (up the west coast). Well worth the drive out - beware the waves are very strong. Finally made it to the top of Monchique ( it was misty last visit). Stunning views. Go early and miss the coaches. Another worthwhile trip and not too far away. Batista beach is lovely and only minutes away. Our 3 favourite restaurants were Portofinos at the Marina, Casa do Prago turn right at the bottom of the street and Abrigo to the right from Green Tile Sq. All excellent food at very reasonable prices. But, so many to choose from. We have no hesitation in recommending this property. It is ideal. I would agree it's not suitable for young children or, perhaps the infirm or elderly (because of the house steps and the hill to the house-short but steep). We have really enjoyed our stay in your lovely house. It has been perfect for us, beautifully decorated, equipped with everything one needs ( even sewing things and first aid kit), centrally located ( only 2-3 minutes to the fish market and the bakers) but as quiet as if in the middle of the country. The roof terrace has be in one of the best positions in Lagos old town, it certainly has a fantastic view - across the town and out to sea - a great place for eating as well. The house and the environment were exactly as described on the net. Lots of restaurants and cafes nearby. We have enjoyed staying in Lagos which is real town not just a holiday town. We have had a super month away from the cold Northern European winter. Thanks Uta and Marc for the opportunity.

Everything was fine, there is a really Nice view from the rooftop and the area is also very pleasant !

Lagos is a bustling , friendly town with wonderful eateries serving great food at great prices. Casa Amedieora is the perfect place to stay to enjoy Lagos - a stone's throw from the centre and an easy stroll to the beaches. The decor and presentation of the Casa were of a very high standard, exactly as described on Home and Away, and it made a comfortable and romantic base for our very relaxing holiday. We decided to arrive by train from Faro as we had loads of time, and it was actually fine - very inexpensive, anyway! And in fact one of our favourite meals was eaten in the unprepossessing looking fish restaurant right opposite the station. The horse mackerel and sardines were sublime! We also loved the cafe in the square straight down the hill from the house - with the crocheted tree cover - for breakfast or coffee or pre-dinner drinks or after dinner drinks or ... And the bakery just to the left is open really early and was also a firm favourite. We would certainly stay here again and highly recommend it. Thank you Uta and Marc!

Ute and Marc's apartment was everything we hoped for from the description - and more. Beautifully appointed, the views from the sun-terrace are spectacular and well-worth a 6.30am visit to see the sun rise. Their house is in a quiet 'untouristy' area and we exchanged friendly greetings with the neighbours from the first morning. The information Ute and Marc provided was accurate and so helpful. At the moment Ana beach is being worked-on so there was heavy machinery there, prompting us to walk along to Mos beach. A good 45-minutes trek through soul-less apartment complexes, we felt it was worth the hike for a clean gentle cresent of golden sand and two good beach cafe-bars. The one sunless day we had was spent at Cap St Vincent - suitably misty and atmospheric -astonishingly powerful. We loved our time in your home - thank-you for having us! Susanne

The house is really comfortable with everything you need, great decorations, a relaxing roof terrace...,with a perfect location (close to the beach and nearby the food market), Off season was a good period to discover the Algarve beautiful landscape. It was perfect, we will recommend!
